Chapter Fourteen
Rose
It’s hard for me to sit next to Jay, or should I say Jayce? Joshua said his name. At least I know his real name now. I can barely handle being close to him, especially when he keeps touching me. His leg constantly brushes against mine, and his hand keeps skimming my thighs. I won’t lie, I was tempted to leave with him, but I refuse to be alone with him again because I’d do something stupid like have sex with him. And if I did that, I’d be in deeper, and it’d be harder for me to resist him.
A part of me wants to leave, but I am not leaving my best friend with four guys she barely knows. She seems to be getting cosy with Tanner, and they are flirting and laughing.
“Rose, bathroom?” Remi asks.
I nod because it means she wants to talk to me about something she can’t say in front of the guys. I stand up, expecting Jayce to move so I can get by, but he doesn’t move, not an inch:
“Excuse me, please. I need to get out,” I say sweetly, but I am annoyed.
Jayce smirks and shakes his head. “You will need to climb over me, pretty eyes.”
I roll my eyes and climb over him, my front to his, and as I do, he grips my hips to stop me from going any further.
“Could you please let me go?” I huff.
A devilish look covers his face, and I can only imagine what it’s for. “I will, once you give me a kiss.”
“If you don’t let me go, it will be knee to the balls you will be getting, not a kiss,” I reply
confidently.
The guys and Remi laugh, and I can’t help but snicker too. Jayce raises his brow at me and pulls me
onto his lap, so I am straddling him. I let out a soft whimper when he does.
“Do you want to take that back, sweetness?” he asks, running his hands over the small of my back
and down to my ass, squeezing it.
“No. Now let me go. We are in public, so behave for once in your life,” I state firmly.
Jayce chuckles. “Well, aren’t you feisty today.”
I go to reply, but he slaps my ass before I can, and I groan loudly. Oh God, I am so embarrassed. I can feel my cheeks heat. Jayce lets go of me, and I quickly climb off his lap. I grab Remi’s hand and drag her towards the bathroom. I need to get away from the guys.

Chapter Fourteen
“I am so embarrassed,” I whine once we are in the bathroom.
“Why?” she asks.
“Why do you think? Jayce’s little show.”
“You shouldn’t be embarrassed. I wish a man would handle me like that.”
I can’t help but laugh at her reaction. “Of course you would!”
“You can’t beat a little manhandling, habe. You would love it. Any woman would love it from that fine specimen out there. That man has got it bad for you.”
“He does not. He is just looking for someone to boss around and fuck,” I protest.
“Possibly, but you deserve some fun, Rose. You work too damn hard. You need to let loose
sometimes. And he’d be the perfect guy for you to do that with. I know when you had sex that it wasn’t good for you, but I really don’t think you would have that issue with Jayce,” she says softly.
“Maybe, but I don’t know if I want to get myself into that situation, because I know once I do, it will be hard to get out of it. He has a way of making my body feel things it hasn’t before.” I sigh.
“I am sure you will make the right choice for you.” She smiles gently.
“Yes. What did you want to talk to me about? Does it have something to do with a certain brother?”
I raise my brow at her.
“Yes. He wants me to go and have a drink with him. Just us, but I wanted to check with you. Would you be okay if I went for a drink with him?”
“Yes, of course. I’m ready to go home anyway.” I snicker. I’m not surprised. I know Remi well enough. to know that she would end up going home with one of them.
“Thanks. He is so damn hot! And who knows, if things go well, I may not be home until tomorrow.” She winks. “Home? Or you can hang out with Jayce.”
I laugh and shake my head. “No. I think home is my better option.” Remi nods.
“Where did Tate and Joshua go?” Remi asks as she sits back flown next to Tanner.
I sit a seat away from Jayce.
“They left. They asked us to tell you both goodbye.” Tanner smiles.
I feel Jayce’s eyes on me, but refuse to look at him. Tanner reaches in and whispers something into. Remi’s ear, which makes her smirk and giggle.

Chapter Fourteen
“We are going to head out, too,” Reml says.
“Okay, I am heading home, anyway, I will see you when you come home, Remi. And, guys, it was nice to see you again. Maybe see you around,” I reply casually.
I want out of here as quickly as possible before I am left alone with Jayce. I gather my things, say another goodbye, and run out of the restaurant before anyone can say another word.
I should probably get a cab since it’s late and getting dark, but I won’t. I will enjoy the walk home. I have pepper spray in my bag if needed. I shiver as I step outside. The air is cooler now. I forgot to grab a jacket. The apartment is a ten–minute walk away, which isn’t too bad. I start to walk home, glad to have escaped from Jayce once again.
