Chapter 189
What was going on?
I hurried over and grabbed Mathilda’s shoulder when I saw her head for the door.
“Where do you think you’re going?” I asked and spun her around. I backed away to block her path. It wasn’t safe and there, especially low furtken year old who didn’t even have a wolf yet.
“I want to fight,” she said defiantly.
My eyes rounded and my jaw dropped. I’d always been protective of her but this wasn’t that it was a mix between protestaveness and moger and I buy say nails into my palms.
“You’re not fighting. The basement has been prepared for you and Kiera, that is where you will stay until this is over,” I was firms as any tone. We had everything set up for them, toys and mountains of books along with food and drinks, everything they could need for a few days depending on how long this went on for. I wanted her down there right away, I didn’t want to wait until the enemy stood on our doorstep and risk her bring in the crossfice.
“No!”
I was taken aback but had to remember that I was the same way when I entered her age. The hormones are crazy but where I was usually calm and collected by nature, I suddenly had no patience at all.
“Go with Elise, Mathilda,” I warned and felt the blood trickling down my fingers under my closed fist.
She narrowed her eyes and lifted her shoulders to her ears.
“Don’t tell me what to do!”
The anger stirred within me what the hell was happening to me? This wasn’t how I acted, not with her, I didn’t get enraged because she wouldn’t listen.
“Mathilda-”
Her eyes turned black and her face flushed in a beet red tone.
“You’re not my mom! Mom is dead because of you so don’t try to take her place!”
Usually, I walked on a line of patience and anger, a thick line that I could control and from which I rarely ever fell off but that line was gone wiped clear and left were no boundaries and no control.
My claws extended and my canines shot out, the loud growl that rippled through me filled the palace halls, and everyone frose.
“GO TO THE BASEMENT AND STAY THERE!”
Mathilda trembled, her bottom lip shivered but she narrowed her eyes and turned around in a huff running behind the stairs and headed for the bevement. Elise sent me a look and sighed before she hurried after my sister with Kiera’s hand firmly in hers.
I shook my head and my hands, what the hell was that?
No amount of deep breaths could erase the feeling of a snack hugging my heart crushing the life out of it after what Mathilda verd
The words were a manifestation of my nightmares, at least that’s my take on it. Of course, I blamed myself for their death the not they were dead because I was their daughter.
I needed to wash off the blood and take a shower or something, whatever was happening to me was officially beyond put kehtheadedness and fainting Maybe the panic attacks were connected to it, I don’t know and I’m sick of thinking.
When I turned around I saw Darian and Gabe watching me. Darian came and took my hand
“Go rest, I’ll make sure that they settle in,” be placed a kiss on the back of my hand and walked a few steps before he stopped and timed

Chapter 189
“It’s not your fault, it’s mine,” he said and left. I ignored Gabe and walked upstairs.
Nora stood on the stairs, watching me with pity when I reached our floor.
We headed into the room and my words fell out like vomit when I explained everything to her. The changes that were happening to me, the lack of control and the irritability- the fact that I still passed out sometimes. At first, the panic attacks had to do with Darian, he awoke those damaged parts of me that I wanted to hide away but even as he worked on gaining my trust back I still fainted sometimes.
And then there was one more thing but it felt wrong to say it out loud.
Nora waited patiently, she sat cross-legged on the bed and held her knees.
“I’m so hot all the time,” I said quietly in shame.
“Hot as in warm or…” she said and tilted her head back and forth.
“Or…” I responded. I didn’t want to come out and say horny but holly hell was I- every time I saw Darian I wanted to rip his clothes off. As though someone put burning coal on my skin and the only thing that could cool me off was Darian’s touch.
“Oh,” her brows furrowed and she dragged her tongue across her teeth and averted her eyes.
Oh? Oh, what?
“Maybe it’s nothing,” she shrugged, “maybe you’re just happy with him and everything else is your body’s response to all that’s been going on. Let’s face it, you haven’t had a minute of peace since the night of the Hunt.”
That was true, maybe I just needed some rest.
Nora left, and I got into the shower. The water hit my skin in powerful streams, but no matter how cold I turned it. the water turned warm when it hit me. I closed my eyes, if I couldn’t run from it, I might as well embrace it. Pictures of Darian played out scenes in my mind, and I ran my hand down my front.
