Lia’s bedroom was already my favourite place in the world—every inch of it reeking with her scent, a mark of her existence.
And now, watching her sleep was becoming one of my most favourite things to do.
Of course, having to watch her from afar couldn’t be compared to the other thing I had experienced today—pressing my lips against hers and claiming every inch of her mouth as mine—but it definitely ranked second. I hadn’t known that hearing the rhythmic beats of someone’s heart, and simply watching their chest rise and fall under a thick blanket could bring you so much peace.
But I guess that was just how mates worked.
