Chapter 196 – Vulnerable
–CAITLYN’S POV–

My head pounded like it had been hit by a brick.
Everything hurt.
My legs, my arms, my abdomen.
But worst of all, my chest.
What had happened to me?
The last thing I remembered… I was fighting a war. For the right thing. For our freedom from monsters.
And the next thing I knew…
Wait, where was I?
I slowly opened my eyes, squinting at the sudden light.
The room was too bright.
And I was on something soft.
Warm.
Like a bed.

No, it was a bod.

I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through me, forcing me back down.
I groaned, gritting my teeth.
What the hell had happened?
It all came back to me like a flood.
My eyes widened, breath catching in my throat.
Blake.
He… he had kidnapped me. We were fighting, he was protecting Lia, and then something pricked my side. I had fainted. And he’d brought me here.
1 looked around, forcing myself to stay calm.
At least I wasn’t handcuffed to the bed like he’d done to her.
My hands flew to my neck, fingers scrabbling for dents or punctures.
It was clean. No bite marks.
I released a slow breath, then tried to sit up again, this time

succeeding.
I was in a bedroom.

But it wasn’t Blake’s room, the one I remembered from his pack house. It was a different one.
I kicked the blanket off of me and stood up, a wave of nausea and dizziness knocking me down again.
A frustrated cry left my lips, angry tears forming in my eyes.
What had he given me? He’d left me powerless. Vulnerable.
The door clicked, making me freeze.
I stared with wide eyes as he walked in, changed into a casual black t shirt and jeans.
My blood boiled..
Without wasting a second, I shot out of bed again, charging at him.
“Woah,” Blake said, grabbing me effortlessly. He caught hold of my wrists and turned me around, pulling me back against his chest. He pinned my arms against my stomach, immobilizing
- me.
“Let me go! You piece of shit! You traitor!” I screamed,

struggling and fighting with all my might.
It had zero effect on him.

“Calm down,” Blake said, holding me tighter to himself. “Caitlyn, relax.”

“Let go of me!” I yelled at the top of my voice. “I will kill you, Blake Walker, and everyone you’ve ever loved. You will die howling like the animal you are. You will regret the day you met me. I will carve your heart out and feed it to your own pack, you
will see.”
There was a moment of silence.
I smiled, breathing hard.
Then, he laughed, wiping the smile off my face.
“Goddess,” he chuckled, lifting me up like I weighed nothing. “You’re so scary.”
“What are you doing?” I shrieked as he carried me towards the bed.
I kicked my feet in the air, bending my head to bite his arm, I couldn’t reach it.

Blake reached the bed and kicked it, pushing it all the way into the corner of the room, so that the headboard and one side was

against the wall. He then walked over to it, throwing me onto the
mattress.
Shivers crawled through me.
I immediately tried to climb off again, but he pushed me back again, making me fall on my back. Before I could sit up again, Blake climbed in too, making me gasp and shuffle away from him. I found myself cornered, trapped between him and the walls.
My hands trembled, breath hitching.
“Stay where you are, unless you want me to pin you down,” Blake warned, his expression hard.
My chest heaved, and I clenched my fists to hide that I was. shaking.
“Good girl,” he said softly. “Take deep breaths now. Your heartbeat is crazy. I don’t want you to pass out.”
I swallowed, my throat feeling like sandpaper.
I obeyed, not because I was afraid, but because he was right.
I could almost hear the pounding of my heart. I couldn’t afford to faint. I didn’t want to be at his mercy again.
“What… what did you to me?” I whispered, then immediately.

regretted it.
Fear had seeped into my voice, making me sound like a pathetic damsel. Just the kind I’d pretended to be when I first met him.
“Nothing,” Blake replied, his tone controlled and gentle, like he was speaking to a child.
My jaw clenched with annoyance.
I wasn’t a scared little girl.
I was a huntress. I was from The Order.
He didn’t have to feign kindness. It wouldn’t fool me..
“Why did you bring me here?” I spat, my tone filled with venom. “What do you want from me?”
Blake stared at me, his green eyes darkening slightly. He was silent for a moment, after which he finally replied, making me immediately regret the question.
“I think, you already know what I want from you, Caitlyn.”

Chapter 197 – Disposable
–LIA’S POV–
I lay my head on his still chest, my tears wetting his skin.
The world felt disposable.
Like none of it mattered anymore.
None of it was worth even a dime.
The Hounds stood around us, silent, their heads down.
A faint breath blew against my hair.
I froze, eyes shooting open.
My heart pounded.
I didn’t have the guts to look up.
What if it wasn’t true? What if I’d imagined it?
Then a soft, quiet beat against my car.
The faint quiver of a heart.
I sat up, my eyes wide, breath caught in my throat.
