Chapter 70
JADA
I tear the pictures of Apollo and his stepsister into shreds before tossing them into the fee, that thought that marrying Mrs. Reign’s son would be a walk in the park, but clearly, things are far more complicated than expected. She claimed to have control over him, but it was evident that he was doing whatever he wanted. I was shocked to see that he had time to get involved with his stepsister, of all people

Disgusting, I’ve heard a lot of stories about Apollo and his player behavior but this one made me sick.
thad been trying my hardest to grab his attention, but it seemed that this Lana girl was the main reason for his cold demeanor She was standing way of us being together.
Why would he choose to be with her when he could have me? it simply did not make any sense to me
But, at the end of it a
fit all, i was the woman that he’d agreed to marry. While his stepsister was simply just another game to him,
Fortunately, his mother was eager for us to unite and would undoubtedly go to great lengths to make that happen. Yet, there’s only so much she can do. 1 needed to find a way to eliminate this Lana girl from the equation.
After making sure the pictures were reduced to ashes, I left the house and, an hour later, met Mrs. Reign at the airport
“I picked out some dresses for you to war while we’re there,” Mrs. Reign informed me as we boarded her private jet, fully packed for a few days with Lana’s family.
“Of course,” I replied immediately. Keeping her happy was essential if I wanted her to remain supportive of my engagement to her son
I must warn you,” she continues. “Lana’s family is nothing like ours. They may dress and behave quite differently. You might even find yourself a little out of place, but it’s all for a good cause.
I had seen enough about their home to make that judgment. Their upbringing was clearly lacking, evident from the way they spoke. It surprised me that someone like Apollo could be attracted to anyone from that family. I was even more taken aback that his father had left Mrs. Reign for people of such low
status
“I’ve seen the conditions they live in,” agree. “And the way Lana spoke in the past made it clear that she doesn’t share the same mannerisms that you
and I do
Mrs. Reign nods. “I’m glad you picked up on what I noticed as well. When your parents meet Lana and her family for the engagement, I’m sure they wi
share our concerns.
if my parents knew about Apollo’s behavior, they’d be outraged by Mrs. Reign’s inaction. They were already frustrated that things weren’t moving faster than they hoped,
“How did you not realize sooner that Apollo was seeing Lana?” ask, accepting a cup of tea from her.
Her expression showed slight offense at my question, a hint of disappointment that her son had kept such a secret from her. Apollo must have known
how she would react.
“My son surprised me,” she admits. “He usually tells me everything. But he knows I would never approve of someone like Lana, and perhaps that’s why he kept it from me. I don’t think he ever intended for things to go further with her.”
I wanted to believe that. The last thing I wanted was the drama of competing with another woman for my future husband. Things were meant to be simpler than this.
“Do you really believe that?” I pressed. “Do you think their relationship isn’t serious?”

She nods while sipping her texes, it’s definitely not serious he had plans to be with her, he would have put up much more of a light ingarding wedding. You have nothing to worry about I know my son. He has been surprising lately but he will behave from now on
“
“He did give you a lot of trouble to agree,” I reminded her, “Remember that din
he skipped for ‘urgent business and the one where he left piety and rushed home without an explanation? It’s pretty clear she was behind his odd behavior all along”
Mr. Reign looks troubled at the reminder.
I had seed something strange about his actions. Now it made sense–it was all because of his stepsister.
“To me,” add, “it seems s
she’s already got a lot of influence over him. Perhaps as much as you do, after all these years. This could just be the beginning”
I needed to stake the flames, ensuring that Mrs. Reign developed a strong dislike for Lana, enough to drive her to keep Lana out of her son’s life.
“I don’t believe that for a second, darling” she countered. “My son listens to me more than he does to anyone else, I know it may seem otherwise given his current behavior, but you really have nothing to worry about. I’ll handle everything”
She seemed convinced that she’d be able to get him to marry me, but doubts lingered in my mind. Spending time in the same house as Apollo and Lana might give me a clearer picture of their relationship.
“That’s why we’re heading there now. To ensure nothing develops between that girl and my son before the wedding,” she says. “Keep an eye on them and try to spend as much time with Apollo as possible. Distract him so he doesn’t have time for her.”
I was determined to do my
y best, but it felt like a lot of extra work. All I wanted was to relax and enjoy my engagement ball
However, if this was what I needed to do to ensure that I married Apollo, I planned on doing just that.
