Seeing my laugh, Cadell probably thought I was on board with his little spiel, He visibly relaxed, and his smile even became more
genuine.
Before he could say anything. I raised my eyebrows and shot him a look. “Cadell, do you really think I’m that dumb?”
His smile instantly froze like it was glued to his face. His expression shifted, confusion flashing in his eyes, making him look downright ridiculous.
I stared at the face I once loved and then spoke word by word, “You think all your betrayals can just be wiped away with a single ‘L love you? Cadell, do you honestly believe that after all the mess, rll still love you?”

No surprise there, though. To Cadell, I’d always been the kind of woman who would support him no matter what. He thought i was stuck on him and couldn’t live without him.
So he went ahead and cheated, and when I found out, he didn’t even apologize, thinking I’d cover for him.
Now that things had blown up, he was finally scared enough to come crawling back.
Did he really think so little of me? He really thought I’d just forgive him the moment he came back? Cadell–must’ve been living in some kind of fantasy world.
Seeing my attitude now, he finally started to panic.
He took a deep breath, looked up at me, and said, “Aurora, that’s not what I meant. I really

I scoffed and shot back, “Poor girl? Cadell, you honestly think she is the victim? I’m the one who got cheated on, remember?”
I could see the words choke him up. He sat there, struggling to come up with anything to say.
After what felt like forever, he finally spoke, ‘Aurora, I promise I won’t let Lorna come near you again. And if that’s not enough to vent your anger, I’ll make her apologize. She’s already been punished–there’s no need to make things any more awkward… Don’t you think?”
I pretended not to understand him and looked at him blankly.
He gritted his teeth and continued, “You put the video and audio online, and that’s already cost me and Lorna. Aurora, isn’t that enough? If you just delete the posts, we can all move on and pretend like this never happened. What do you say?”
I couldn’t help but chuckle. “Cadell, you know what? Sometimes, I really think you’re something else.”
He probably thought I was about to praise him because he lifted his chin like he’d won some kind of victory
The next second, I said, “You’re so shameless! I can’t even imagine you can pull this off!”
Cadell’s face twisted, clearly caught off guard. I was getting tired of this conversation, so I decided to keep it short. The only reason I’m even here is because you said you had news about my sister. Cadell, my patience is running thin. If you don’t spill it,
don’t bother.

Cadell clenched his teeth and stared at me like he was seeing me for the first time.
“Aurora, I finally see what kind of person you really are!” he growled.

I stared him down, and there was something off in his eyes–he was scheming something.
I couldn’t help but sneer, “Cadell, you didn’t slip anything into my juice, I hope?”
My question came out light, almost playful, but it immediately put panic on his face.
I scoffed to myself, I knew it. He’s such an i***t. He can use the same trick over and over. Doesn’t he know that people learn lessons from the past?
Cadell quickly regained his composure and looked at me with a straight face. “Aurora, what are you thinking? This is just a regular glass of juice. You really don’t trust me at all? Well, if you’re going to act like that, maybe there’s nothing left to discuss. Forget about the information on your sister…”

I met his gaze, and behind all the urgency and frustration in his eyes, I could tell he was trying to get something from me. Suddenly, something clicked in my mind–on our wedding night, when Cadell thought I’d been drugged and passed out, he said

With that, I picked up the juice and took a sip.
The look in Cadell’s eyes instantly turned to one of delight, but I lowered my gaze, my eyes colder than ice.
