Chapter 26 You’re Truly Heartless
I had to admit, Cyril’s presence was overwhelming. Being trapped in his gaze made me feel uneasy.
I couldn’t help but ask him, “What do you want?”
Cyril chuckled lightly, his gaze becoming even more aggressive. Just as I thought he was going to do something, he suddenly let go of me.
Then, the aggression in his eyes quickly faded, replaced by innocence and purity. “Aurora, you’re really heartless. You used me, and now you want to discard me?”
He purposely emphasized the word “use,” which made me involuntarily recall that intense, passionate
confrontation.
He had been lying next to me then, asking in a suggestive tone, “Aurora, was I of good use to you?”
I shook my head, pushing that image out of my mind.
It was me who had been drugged, so why did it feel like Cyril was now the one who looked more aggrieved
than I did?
I took a deep breath, steadying myself. “Stop saying nonsense, let’s get to the point.”
Cyril reluctantly released me, his eyes filled with a hint of resentment. “You asked for it yourself, how could I not agree? Aurora, you really don’t understand romance. What you want is right here, in this bouquet of
roses.”
I slightly curled my fingers, about to speak, when Cyril once again held the bouquet out to me.
I could smell the fragrance of the flowers and see every fine detail on the golden roses.
I raised an eyebrow. Since Cyril had said so, I couldn’t exactly refuse the roses.
Without hesitation, I took the bouquet from him.
It was heavier than I expected.
I glanced at Cyril and then began to unwrap the bouquet.
The roses were carefully trimmed, with no thorns, so they wouldn’t hurt my hands.
I placed the golden roses in a vase and set it on the desk in the study.
After unwrapping the bouquet, I found something sealed inside.
The juice and the cup were kept separately, both handled with professional care.
If I handed it to the police, they could easily find fingerprints on the cup.
In addition, there was an envelope!
This envelope looked thoughtfully designed, with golden lace–like trim on its edges.
I paused. Was this also Cyril’s way of adding a sense of ritual?
He truly understood romance.
I opened the envelope, and what I found inside surprised me.

Chapter 26 Youre Trudy H
It wasn’t a useless greeting card, like I had expected.
Instead, it was a very useful document!
It was an appraisal report on the juice that Cadell had drugged me with!
Cyril had worked fast–he had already analyzed the ingredients in the juice, even tracking down the origin of the drug.
It was as if he had anticipated my plan.
At this moment, I couldn’t quite describe what I was feeling inside, I just found myself staring at Cyril in a
daze.
‘Is it really normal for a business associate to do so much?‘
Cyril raised an eyebrow and looked at me. “So? Are you touched?”
His features were so captivating, and every time he showed such an expression, it became even more
alluring.
My heart skipped a beat, and I quickly looked away, flustered. “Cyril, I remember you said that when Cadell
invited me to dinner, the scented candles he lit were also laced with drugs. Is the candle… still around?”
Cyril’s expression stiffened for a brief moment. Although it was fleeting, I saw it clearly.
Why did he react like that?
Before I could make sense of it, Cyril spoke, “The situation was too urgent at the time, and we didn’t think to keep it. By the time I had Ronald look for it, the candle had already burned out, so we couldn’t recover it. But the juice and cup should be enough, right?”
“Alright.” I nodded, not paying much attention to it.
As Cyril said, it didn’t really matter whether the candle was there or not. After all, the evidence I had now was more than enough to convict Cadell.
I couldn’t help but smile and jokingly ask, “Cyril, after Ronald inhaled the vapor, how did he deal with it?”
I was curious, since it was Ronald Matthews, Cyril’s assistant, who personally drove me home, and I hadn’t noticed any signs that he was affected by the vapor.
Maybe he handled it quickly?
Tasked casually, but to my surprise, Cyril’s smile froze even more.
I was sure I wasn’t imagining it–Cyril’s reaction… why did it seem like he was a bit guilty?
Before I could think further, Cyril answered, “What else could he have done? Of course, he went to find his
girlfriend.”
I nodded and didn’t press any further.
Cyril seemed to have something to do, and after chatting for a bit, he was called away by a phone call.
His face was a little grim when he left, as if there was an urgent matter.
Though I was curious, I didn’t ask more. After all, our relationship wasn’t close enough for me to inquire into his personal matters.

After Cyill left. I went straight to the police station with the evidence to file a report.
Given the solid evidence i provided, the police hardly needed to investigate much further before convicting
Cadell.
After all, Cadell’s fingerprints were on the cup!
Cadell was overly confident, seemingly never thinking that all of this would be exposed, so he handled the entire process himself.
Even the drugs, he had bought them himself.
This series of evidence left no room for doubt, and Cadell’s crimes were now clear.
However, since I hadn’t suffered any substantial harm, even if he was convicted, his punishment wouldn’t be
too severe.
The police told me that Cadell would be sentenced to a month in detention and would have to compensate
me for emotional damages.
I wasn’t surprised. This judgment was acceptable for me.
After all, I hadn’t expected to bring Cadell down completely with this incident. My real plan was still to come.
For now, this was just a small warning to Cadell.
Feeling satisfied, I returned home. Just as I was about to get out of the car, I saw a familiar figure.
It was Cadell.
Immediately, I furrowed my brow in alert.
How could he be here?
