Chapter 31 It’s My Fortune to Be Chosen by You
With Cyril by my side, the meal was all the more enjoyable, and I couldn’t help but drink a few sips of wine.
I was not very good with alcohol. After one glass, my mind started to blur, and my steps became unsteady.
When Cyril saw that I was about to fall, he caught me.
I was in a good mood and couldn’t help but say to him, “I’m really glad I chose you. You’ve truly surprised me!”
Cyril’s expression immediately softened. I could feel his gaze fixed on me, and his once sharp eyes became gentle, like a soft hand constantly caressing my skin.
I felt uneasy under his gaze and instinctively shifted my eyes away.
Just as I was about to change the topic, Cyril softly said, “It’s indeed my fortune to be chosen by you.”
I wasn’t sure if I had heard him right, but at that moment, I could clearly feel my heart pounding.
I hurriedly lowered my head and didn’t say anything more.
The aftereffects of the strong alcohol kicked in, and in another ten minutes, my mind was completely hazy,
and I felt as if the world was spinning.
I furrowed my brows, trying to steady myself, but my body wouldn’t cooperate. I had to tightly grasp Cyril’s
arm to keep from falling.
The dizziness struck again, and I quickly reached out to grab his arm.
But I caught nothing. As my vision gradually cleared, I realized that Cyril had already picked me up with one
arm.
Cyril was tall, and being held by him made me feel even more dizzy. I instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face in his collarbone.
I hadn’t noticed before, but Cyril’s shoulders were really broad, making me feel so small in comparison.
But I had to admit, this version of Cyril gave me an unprecedented sense of security.
I couldn’t remember when Lhad fallen asleep, but when I opened my eyes again, I found myself lying on a soft
bed.
I looked around and realized this wasn’t my room. The chandelier on the ceiling was very luxurious, completely different from my style.
I snapped back to reality, startled, and quickly sat up.
Then, a gentle voice came from beside me. “Are you awake? Why are you in such a hurry to get up? Did you
have a nightmare?”
I instinctively turned my head and saw Cyril in a bathrobe, drying his wet hair. A layer of seductive mist
lingered in his eyes.
For a moment, he seemed extraordinarily sexy.
His body was in excellent shape, every muscle line tight and smooth. What I couldn’t forget was the clear
sensation of touching him

Water droplets slid down from his collarbone, slowly flowing along his perfect abs and into his bathrobe.
1 quickly turned my gaze away, my cheeks burning. “Why are you…”
Cyril raised an eyebrow. “You’ve touched and bitten before, so why are you shy now?”
“That’s different!” I couldn’t bring myself to look at him. Back then, I was under the influence of drugs, completely disoriented, and only thinking about releasing myself. I had no time to appreciate him.
But now, things were different. I was fully awake and obviously didn’t dare to look again!
Cyril chuckled softly. “I won’t tease you. Since you’re awake, come eat. I’ve already prepared everything.”
I was a bit surprised. Cyril could cook?
I got out of bed and realized I had been changed into different clothes. I paused for a moment, and it seemed Cyril saw my doubt, so he explained, “The maid helped you change. Don’t worry, I wouldn’t do anything disrespectful without your consent.”
Hearing this, I felt relieved.
Cyril was even more of a gentleman than I had expected. Butt couldn’t quite understand why he had waited until now to shower.
“Because you were drunk, and the alcohol spilled all over me.” Cyril’s words made me realize I had actually voiced my thoughts out loud.
Embarrassment left me no time to think further. I simply nodded awkwardly and then headed toward the dining table.
When I sat down, I realized something was off.
We had eaten together at ten in the morning. Considering the time for eating and him bringing me back, it had been at most three hours.
But now, it was already four in the afternoon, which meant we had been back for over three hours.
Three hours… Wasn’t that enough time for Cyril to take a shower?
I couldn’t help but wonder, did Cyril do something unspeakable in the bathroom?
Did he take care of it himself?!
I instantly blushed and couldn’t bring myself to think any further.
Even if Cyril really did something like that, what does it have to do with me? The best situation would be that
I didn’t know anything about it.
That said, my mind refused to obey, and I couldn’t stop thinking about what he might have been like in the
bathroom, making my face turn even redder.
Cyril seemed to sense my unease and, with a mischievous look, asked, “Is it really that hot?”
I nodded, then quickly shook my head. It was already early autumn, and the evenings had a cool breeze. If I said it was hot, that would be ridiculous, right?
Cyril slightly curled his lips, looking at me with an expression that was half–smile, half–amusement. He didn’t
say anything, but I felt like his gaze could see right through my thoughts.

1 quickly finished my meal, desperate to leave his place.
I hurriedly said to him, “I need to head back.”
Cyril responded with a soft “Mm” and then said, “I’ll have Ronald drive you back.”
I didn’t refuse, just nodded quickly.
Cyril looked at me helplessly, then couldn’t help but remind me, “Aurora, you should be prepared. When Charles returns tomorrow, he’ll probably want to meet with you.”
Talking about business finally eased some of the awkwardness in my heart. I nodded. “Don’t worry, I know what to do. I’m waiting for him to come.”
If he didn’t come, how could I make Cadell regret it?
