Chapter 48 I’ll Make Her Leave Immediately!
His tone was urgent, but there was a hidden resolve beneath it.
I could roughly guess his thoughts. He must think… That since he had already apologized to me so humbly, I would be the one being ungrateful if I didn’t forgive him.
I really wanted to knock some sense into his head and find out what gave him such confidence.
Talking to such a foolish man, I even worried my intelligence might be affected.

So, I responded in a tone full of indifference and disgust, “Cadell, stop dreaming. Spend some time looking in the mirror and see if you even deserve it.”
After that, I didn’t hesitate to hang up the phone. Cadell seemed to be crushed by the sarcasm in my words,
as he didn’t try to bother me again.
That was a relief. If he did, I might not be able to control myself and would definitely insult him without a
second thought.
It would damage my image. I couldn’t be bothered to waste time on someone like Cadell.
To avoid further interruptions, I turned off my phone while dealing with work.
It wasn’t until I finished my work that I turned it on and received a message from Darian. He asked whether the new jewelry line for our subsidiary this year was designed by me personally or decided by the design
department.
I stayed silent for a moment before deciding that I would handle it myself.
My company operated in many industries, most of which were doing quite well, but the jewelry section had always been mediocre.
In the past, I genuinely liked Cadell, so I would go out of my way to send him my best works, hoping he would solidify his position as the heir. Naturally, I didn’t intend to compete with him in the jewelry market.
Because of this, the Hartman family’s position in the jewelry world kept rising, while my own subsidiary remained stagnant, with no significant achievements.
But now, I was no longer willing to continue supporting the Hartman family. In fact, I wanted to pull Cadell
down from his high position.
So, I would show no mercy.
Moreover, there were only a few companies on the market capable of competing with the Hartman family. If I didn’t take action, they would monopolize most of the resources.
Since I wanted Cadell to pay the price, I had to start from here.
Since they betrayed me, everything I gave them should be taken back.
Most importantly, the Hartman family had a strong partnership with Philip. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be
working together in such a scheming way.
If I weakened the Hartman family’s power, people like Philip would also be heavily impacted.

I had a habit when designing–I didn’t like being cooped up in a room. I needed to go out for a walk to get
more inspiration.
To punish the Hartman family, I took my sketchbook and went out.
When I stepped outside, it was just about dusk. I really loved the beauty of twilight, so I sat next to a small flowerbed, squinting my eyes as I admired the sunset.
The flowers in the flowerbed were growing vigorously, and the surroundings were very quiet. If no one had
been specifically looking for me, they wouldn’t have noticed my presence.
I liked this peaceful time.
However, such a beautiful atmosphere was soon interrupted. Before I could enjoy it for long, a loud noise
reached my ears.
I recognized it was Lorna’s voice.
It sounded like they were very close, right across from the flowerbed.
Apart from the fragrance of the flowers, I could smell a strong perfume, which was almost overpowering.
I couldn’t help but laugh inwardly, thinking Lorna was probably still upset about the dog poop incident, so now she was rushing to cover up the smell on her…
However, the overuse of perfume only made it worse.
At least, I found the smell rather unpleasant.
The footsteps grew closer. I roughly estimated they were less than five yards away from me.
It seemed that Lorna had sat down, and I heard her speak with a tone of grievance, “Cadell, why did you ask me to come out? Didn’t you change your mind? Don’t you want to get back together with Aurora?”
The more she spoke, the more pitiful she sounded, until her voice began to quiver with tears.
This made Cadell, who was with her, feel sorry for her. Almost instantly, I heard him say to her, “No, Lorna, don’t cry. I know I was wrong yesterday, and I hurt you, but believe me, I have my reasons.”
I raised an eyebrow, listening quietly.
Lorna felt more aggrieved with his comfort. “What reasons? I can tell you still have feelings for Aurora. You

It was all so stagy that I almost couldn’t hold back a gag.
But Cadell seemed to love it. He seemed to pull Lorna into his arms, constantly comforting her, “Lorna, listen to me. Aurora and I… It’s just a fling.”
I raised an eyebrow, continuing to listen.
Cadell said, “Here’s something you don’t know. My grandfather told me that Aurora was actually very wealthy. She holds 5% of the Hartman family’s shares. You know, Cyril has always had his eye on the Hartman family. If those shares fall into his hands, it’ll be very bad for me.”
With patience, he added, “That’s why I’m being nice to Aurora now. I want to get those shares. I’ve noticed that Cyril has been getting closer to her recently, and I can’t let that happen.”
Lorna seemed to understand. “So, are you planning to marry Aurora?”
“If she’s willing, yes. But don’t worry. Once I get the shares, I’ll make her leave immediately!” he spoke with such determination, looking confident.
Hearing this, I almost couldn’t hold back a laugh.
Where did he get such confidence from? Did he really think I’d give him the shares?
