Chapter 49 I Have a Bold Idea
Lorna seemed to share similar concerns. After hesitating for a moment, she asked, “Do you think this method will work? Will Aurora really not find out?”
Cadell answered confidently, “Don’t worry, I’ve been with Aurora for seven years. No one knows her better than I do. You have no idea how much she loves me. She’s just cold towards me right now because she’s not happy with what I did. Once I apologize and admit my mistakes, Aurora will absolutely forgive me.”
His words sounded extremely uncomfortable, and I found it hard to keep listening.
I subtly adjusted my position, positioning myself so that I could clearly see their profiles and movements through the flowers.
Cadell seemed unaware of my presence and continued, “But for now, Lorna, you’ll have to bear with it a little. While I’m apologizing to Aurora and working to regain her trust, we’ll have to meet less.”
Lorna seemed a bit displeased. “Are you telling me the truth, or are you deceiving me? If you’re lying, what
should I do afterward?”
After saying this, she hugged Cadell with a look of grievance. “Cadell, you should know you’re the only one I
can count on.”
I saw Cadell’s expression. When she said that, his lingering anger gradually faded.
He gently said to Lorna, “When have I ever lied to you? I only said we need to reduce contact, not that we should never see each other again. Every night, I’ll still come see you, but I just hope you won’t have any more conflicts with Aurora. The best way to handle it is to apologize to her.”
As soon as Lorna heard the word “apologize“, a look of displeasure immediately appeared on her face.
Cadell, understanding her personality, quickly added, “Don’t worry, Lorna. I won’t make you apologize for
nothing. I’ll compensate you.”
At the mention of “compensation“, Lorna’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
Cadell spoke softly, “I know you’ve sold the villa and your beloved jewelry to pay back Edmund’s money, but even so, you’re still short by ten million dollars.”
I raised an eyebrow slightly, while Lorna’s face showed clear distress. “Yes, it’s all Aurora’s fault. If it weren’t for her, how could I have ended up like this? Cadell, you have no idea. I can’t even afford expensive cosmetics
anymore. All the money is gone!”
I couldn’t help but feel a touch of irony.
Lorna and Cadell were indeed cut from the same cloth, always taking what wasn’t theirs.
Lorna’s jewelry and property, which should have been Edmund’s gifts, had nothing to do with her. But in her eyes, that was a totally different story.
It was laughable.
Cadell gently stroked her hair and then softly said, “So, I’ve decided to let you work for my company as my secretary. I’ll advance you two years‘ worth of salary, a total of ten million, which should be enough to pay off
your debts.”

Upon hearing this, Lorna nearly lost control with excitement, her face breaking into a radiant smile. She cupped Cadell’s face as if she wanted to kiss him.
However, Cadell slightly turned his head, avoiding her kiss.
At that moment, I saw Lorna’s face freeze in an awkward expression.
I couldn’t help but stifle a laugh and thought to myself, ‘Cadell is actually despising Lorna now!‘
Just as I had expected, after what happened yesterday, every time Lorna tried to kiss Cadell, it reminded him of that disgusting feeling!

Lorna seemed to sense something, but since she had just received benefits from Cadell, she obviously didn’t dare to get angry with him. Instead, she changed the kiss into an embrace.

Cadell answered almost without hesitation, “Don’t worry, I will never disappoint you.”
The two of them hugged tightly, talking about a bright future.
They fantasized about how happy they would be once they got the shares from me, and Lorna swore she would make me pay for the humiliation I had caused her.
I couldn’t help but feel a tinge of sarcasm. I couldn’t believe how confident Cadell was. Did he really think he
had such charm?
Sometimes, listening to their foolish conversation was actually somewhat amusing.
After their heart–to–heart conversation, the couple left hand–in–hand.
I watched their retreating figures and suddenly raised an eyebrow.
I suddenly had a bold idea.
Since Cadell dared to bring Lorna into his company, then he shouldn’t blame me for making my move.
Breaking things down from the inside out would probably be easier.
With that thought, I couldn’t help but smile.
It seemed I needed to have a word with Edmund.
With that in mind, my mood lightened considerably.
Since Cadell dared to disgust me like this, he would have to pay the price!
I was filled with excitement, and inspiration flooded me as I began to sketch jewelry designs.

In the fading light of dusk, I quickly finished the rough drafts and cheerfully made my way home.
Once home, I immediately called Edmund.
The phone was answered quickly, and Edmund lazily asked, “Aurora? What made you suddenly want to call me? Are you in trouble?”
I smiled faintly and answered cheerfully, “Edmund, I have a collaboration for you. Are you interested?”
