Chapter 56 I’m Not Interested in Knowing Who You Are
The newcomer was tall, with a stern face, and his expression was always impassive. Whenever he silently stared at others, there was an overwhelming sense of pressure.
Philip’s expression darkened as he stared at the person in front of him, narrowing his eyes slightly, and said, “Darian? What are you doing here? I don’t recall inviting you.”
Darian showed no expression and didn’t even glance at me. I gently traced the ring on my index finger and secretly curled the corner of my mouth in a barely visible smile.
Of course, I called Darian here!
Since I dared to attend the party alone, it was because I had prepared for it.
Darian was my trump card. No matter what Philip intended to do to me, as long as Darian was present, his plans would have to be suppressed.
After all… Darian was someone Philip wanted to cooperate with. In the upper circles, who didn’t know Darian’s temperament?
He couldn’t tolerate any flaws and would never work with anyone of questionable character. Therefore, Philip
would never show any negative behavior in front of Darian.
He was afraid of a broken partnership, afraid his schemes would fall apart.
Whatever Philip had planned for me, as long as Darian was there, he would have to hold back.
Darian was truly my ultimate trump card.
“Mr. Lancelot!” An excited, elderly voice interrupted my thoughts. I instinctively looked up and saw Charles’s eager gaze fixed on Darian.
Darian gave him a cold glance, his expression unchanged, distant, and aloof.
However, Charles didn’t seem to mind at all. Instead, he flashed a flattering smile at Darian and said, “Mr.
Lancelot, I’ve heard so much about you. I am…”
Before he could finish, Darian cut him off. “I’m not interested in knowing who you are.”
The words were arrogant and indifferent. Charles’s expression instantly froze, and I could barely suppress a
laugh.
As expected, the person I chose always knew how to make people angry with their words!
However, with Darian’s status, Charles was displeased but dared not show it.
Seeing his uncomfortable expression, I couldn’t help but feel pleased.
Cyril’s gaze shifted toward me, his eyes somewhat complicated, as if he sensed my hidden identity in that
instant.
My body stiffened slightly, surprised by his sharp perception.
Philip, clearly in a bad mood, glared at Darian, his eyes burning with fury, as if his prized prey had been taken
away.

He asked again, his tone irritated. “What are you here for?”
Dafian’s gaze lightly shifted to him. His deep blue eyes carried a strong chill as he spoke with no expression, “I’m here to see Aurora.”
A simple sentence, yet it immediately plunged the room into silence.
Charles, in disbelief, turned his gaze to me, as if he couldn’t understand how I was connected to Darian.
Seeing the surprise in his eyes, I couldn’t help but curve my lips in a smile, wondering if Charles would regret it if he knew I was the one in charge of Prosperity Group.
Prosperity Group was a company that Darian and I had co–founded. He handled all the affairs, while I controlled everything behind the scenes.
No one knew my identity.
Philip narrowed his eyes and scrutinized me, seemingly reassessing my value.
In contrast, Cyril was the calmest of them all.
Eventually, Philip couldn’t suppress his emotions any longer. He nervously fiddled with the beads on his bracelet. “What do you want with her?”
Darian’s gaze shifted back to him, and his deep blue eyes radiated a chilling coldness as he replied, “Aurora
was my playmate when we were young. I just want to see her, nothing more.”
I smiled slightly. Darian’s acting was still spot on. When I first assigned him this identity, I was worried he
might not adapt well to his role and slip up.
But this identity was the most suitable choice after much consideration.
It made Charles think that there’s something to gain from me, which would bring him closer to me and allow
me to gather more information from him.
It also made Philip wary of me, but not afraid enough to back off. Instead, his growing desire for me would
make him keep looking for chances to strike.
I could navigate between both sides and gradually gather the intelligence I needed.
For me, this was the ideal situation.
After Darian said those words, he turned his gaze to me. The coldness in his eyes softened just slightly but
still remained stern. At least to others, he still appeared as cold as ice.
He spoke to me, “Come with me, I have something to ask you.”
Philip narrowed his eyes, clearly displeased, but he had no choice but to let me leave.
After all, a single person like him could never match the entire Prosperity Group.
So, I confidently walked out of the banquet hall with Darian, and Cyril followed and got into the car.
I noticed Darian’s gaze shifting toward Cyril, his brow slightly furrowing in a complicated expression,
seemingly carrying some hostility.
I quickly explained to Darian, “This is Cyril, my business partner.”
Darian simply murmured an “oh,” then slowly looked away, saying nothing more.

Cyril’s eyes nickered between me and Darlan, not knowing what to think, and he seemed a little displeased.
I understood. After all, I hadn’t informed him about my plan in advance. It was normal that he felt a sense of distrust.
Darian was busy. After dropping me off at home, he drove off.
Once he left, Cyril raised an eyebrow and looked at me. “Playmate?”
I nodded. “Anything wrong about that?”
For now, I didn’t plan on telling him my true identity.
Cyril’s gaze was deep, his expression thoughtful. “Nothing, just that the way he looks at you doesn’t seem like a ‘playmate‘.”
