Chapter 59 Will You Abandon Mo?
I looked directly at him, then, with a hint of sarcasm in my smile, said, “Cadell, It was you who once said you would have no further contact with Lorna. I only drafted this contract to ease my mind. You’re reluctant to sign it now because all your previous promises were lies, weren’t they?”
Cadell was stumped by my words. Gritting his teeth, he had no choice but to reluctantly sign the contract.
I felt a sense of satisfaction because I knew, with Cadell’s personality, he couldn’t truly avoid getting in touch with Lorna.
Even if he could resist his urge, Lorna would never allow such a thing to happen.
One day, I would catch him in the act.
Once the contract was signed, Cadell glared at me, clearly irritated. “Is it done now? Are you ready to accept my apology?”
I nodded. I had already gotten what I wanted, and now I could listen to the nauseating things Cadell would
say.
Seeing me nod, Cadell immediately relaxed, and in a soft voice, he said, “Aurora, I was so foolish. I never realized how deeply you truly care for me.”
I didn’t understand how he had come to such a conclusion. I raised an eyebrow, looking at him in surprise.
Cadell continued, putting on a look of deep affection. “It wasn’t until today that I realized the person who had
been secretly providing me with design drafts all this time was you. With such immense talent, you could be
the chief designer at any major company, but you aren’t. Isn’t that a sign of your love for me?”
He said it with such certainty and confidence that it almost made me feel disgusted.
But he was still of use to me, so I didn’t expose his self–satisfied words.
Seeing that I didn’t deny it, Cadell’s mood brightened. He smiled at me and asked, “Aurora, I’ve signed the
contract and recognized my mistakes. Will you… get back together with me?”
I really admired his audacity!
After all that had happened between us, he could still shamelessly say such things!
I gave him a forced smile and said, “What do you think?”
Cadell’s gaze faltered slightly, then he sighed. “I know you might not forgive me right now. But that’s okay. I’ll prove my love to you over time.”
“Before that-” Cadell finally revealed his true intention. “Aurora, I sincerely invite you to join Hartman
Holdings and work for me. I’ll offer you a generous annual salary, enough to cover your mother’s medical
bills. What do you think?”
He paused for a moment and added, “I’ll place your office opposite mine, so you can always see me.”
I was almost amused by his words. His audacity was unbearable! Who would want to see his disgusting face
every day?
I turned him down without hesitation. “As you said, I do need the money, so I’ll accept the position of

designer, but the office doesn’t need to be opposite yours.
Cadell’s smug expression almost vanished, and he looked puzzled. “You don’t want to be with me?”
I chuckled lightly and, emphasizing each word, said, “That’s right, Cadell. Maybe you don’t know, but being with you makes me feel a bit sick.”
I saw his compusure shatter in an instant. I could clearly see how embarrassed he was.
I had no intention of sparing him any face. After all, the power was in my hands now. Cadell was the one begging me to do something, and even if I found him repulsive, he could only grit his teeth and endure.
Sure enough, he quickly regained his composure and smiled at me. “Alright, I know you’re still angry with me. I’ll apologize properly and try to earn your forgiveness.”
“I have one condition,” I said. “My office must be far away from yours. Everything else is negotiable.”
Cadell was so furious he almost ground his teeth. I saw him grit his jaw, but in the end, he reluctantly agreed
with a dark expression.
I had achieved my goal, and didn’t want to waste any more words with him, so I stood up to leave, picking up
the contract as I walked towards the door.
Before leaving, I glanced back at him and said, “Cadell, this is the last chance I’m giving you. I hope you won’t disappoint me, or you know what the consequences will be…”
A flicker of dark light flashed in his eyes, but then, with a hint of indulgence, he nodded. “Don’t worry, I
understand.”
I nodded in response and didn’t say anything else before I left.
I couldn’t stand being near him for even another second. Just the thought made me feel nauseous.
That night, when I got home, I saw the video of Cadell kneeling trending. I watched it for a while, then saved
the video. It was a source of joy for me.
Soon after, Cyril called. “Are you planning to join Cadell’s design team?”
I replied, “There are things I need to investigate.”
I didn’t feel the need to hide anything from Cyril. Even if I didn’t tell him, he would still understand my
intentions.
I continued, “Don’t worry. I’m not that generous. I’ll never forgive Cadell. Right now, I’m just using the relationship. Once he’s no longer useful, I’ll naturally abandon him.”
I thought my words were very clear, and Cyril should have understood what I meant.
However, to my surprise, he fell silent for a moment and then asked, “What about me?”
I was stunned by his question. I didn’t respond immediately and, almost instinctively, replied, “You? Cyril, haven’t I told you? We’re the most solid business partners. I will never betray you. You have to trust my
character…”
Before I could finish my sentence, he suddenly interrupted me.
On the other end of the line, he asked, with great seriousness and each word carefully pronounced, “I’m
asking–if I become useless, will you also discard me without hesitation?”
