Chapter 68 Give Me Some Time
Edmund raised an eyebrow and looked at me. “What did Cadell do to make you so upset?”
I lowered my gaze and gave a soft laugh. “I just feel like it’s been dragging on too long. I want it to be over
soon.”
I didn’t tell him the truth. After all, even Cyril didn’t know the whole story.
Edmund seemed to understand that I didn’t want to discuss it further, so he didn’t press me. He simply
nodded casually, “Alright.”
I let out a sigh of relief. As long as Edmund agreed, my plan could move forward smoothly.
Feeling lighter, I discussed a few specific details with Edmund, then chatted with him for a while before getting ready to leave.
Just as I stood up, Edmund called out to me. “Aurora.”
I turned to look at him. His gaze was filled with some complex emotions I couldn’t fully decipher.
He spoke, “Give me some time.”
I was somewhat confused, unsure of what he was referring to. Did he mean the execution time for the plan?
Before I could ask, Edmund resumed his usual nonchalant attitude. He leaned back in the recliner and spoke slowly, “Go ahead and head back. Things are progressing. I’ll let you know when there’s an update,”
I nodded in response. Since I had been drinking, I couldn’t drive myself, so Edmund’s butler took me home.
Before leaving, the butler looked at me and respectfully said, “Miss Wenmir, my boss is very fond of you. I hope you will treat him well.”
I raised an eyebrow, finding the comment a bit strange. “Don’t worry, sir, I’ve always been nice with my
friends,”
The butler seemed somewhat helpless, as though he had more to say but didn’t.
After he left, I immediately contacted Darian to pick me up.
I needed to find out what connection Cyril had with Nightfall Bar.
Also, I needed to check whether Philip had made any progress in researching the neurological drugs that Prosperity Group was planning to sell.
My mother was still waiting at the hospital, so I couldn’t afford to waste any more time.
I rarely visited Prosperity Group, and I always disguised myself when I did. This time was no different.
I didn’t go through the main entrance of the headquarters but instead took a secret passage. As soon as i opened the door to the passage, I saw Darian there, waiting for me.
He bowed respectfully and said softly, “You’re here?”
I nodded gently and asked, “How’s the company’s revenue recently?”
Darian answered in a businesslike manner, “It’s up by three percent from last month. The revenue is good, we’ve already surpassed Hodge Group, and we’ll reach your target soon.”

Chapter 68 Give Me Som
I closed my eyes slightly. This was undoubtedly good news for me.
“How’s the progress with Knightfall Group? Have the talks started? I need their arms business support!”
Darian nodded. “The talks have already started. Progress is smoother than expected. It seems Knightfall.
Group has been interested in cooperating with us for some time.”
I furrowed my brows. While I knew Cyril had connections with Knightfall Group, I had never brought up the idea of cooperation with him. In fact, he didn’t even know I was the head of Prosperity Group.
Logically, the talks with Knightfall Group should have started from scratch.
And Knightfall Group was quite selective. I knew that many companies had tried to collaborate with them and were rejected.
So far, Knightfall Group hadn’t found any partner for in–depth collaboration. I initially assumed that getting them to cooperate would require considerable effort, but judging from Darian’s report, the negotiations had been progressing unexpectedly smoothly. It felt too odd to be true.
I instinctively wanted to attribute all these oddities to Cyril, but then again, maybe I was overthinking. There was no way Cyril could know my real identity, right?
After all, I had always been careful to keep it hidden. Even those who had captured Sylvia back then failed to uncover my identity, so Cyril shouldn’t have been able to figure it out.
No, now was not the time to dwell on this.
Back then, my father had offended many powerful groups. Even though Sylvia appeared within the Hartman family’s supply chain, I didn’t know who specifically was involved. That question would take time to
investigate.
I wouldn’t let any of the individuals involved get away!
Steadying my emotions, I asked Darian, “How’s the analysis of the d**g components the Hartman family is seeking to collaborate on? Can it be cracked? I’m afraid my mother can’t wait that long.”
Darian paused for a moment before replying, “It’ll take some time, Aurora. I’ll do my best.”
“I trust you.” I didn’t press him. After all, this was a d**g Phillip had spent years developing. It wasn’t something that could be cracked in a short period.
“As for selling it, keep holding off. If the Hartman family questions the delay, just say the timing isn’t right- they won’t push too hard.” I had no intention of letting a harmful d**g like that reach the market.
Darian nodded. “Understood, I’ll take care of it.”
Having given these instructions, I went to see my mother,
Her condition hadn’t changed significantly–at least it hadn’t worsened.
I said to her, “Mom, I might not be able to visit you for a while. I’ve found a lead on Sylvia. I’ll bring her back
one day.”
My mother immediately became emotional, clutching my wrist tightly. “Sylvia is still alive?”

She said, “Aurora, I know you’ve been through so much over the years. Don’t push yourself too hard. I love Sylvia, but I also love you deeply.”
I suddenly felt tears welling up. Her voice was weak, yet she kept comforting me. “No matter what happens, Aurora, you must take good care of yourself.”
Those simple words made tears stream down my face uncontrollably. I held her tightly, sobbing, “Mom, I’ll do my best. I’ll make everyone involved in what happened back then pay for it!”
