Chapter 77 Lorna’s Infidelity Exposed
“Cadell, please calm down,” Lorna sobbed, her voice filled with grief. I have my reasons… I was being threatened. I didn’t want to do this to you! I just couldn’t control myself!”
Cadell paused briefly, his brow furrowed. The anger in his eyes hadn’t subsided.
Desperately, Lorna tried to recall their shared memories, hoping to rekindle Cadell’s feelings and avoid the consequences she now faced.
In the past, Cadell might have softened. But now, Cyril’s actions had hit him hard enough that Lorna’s
attempts were no longer effective.
At most. It could buy her a little time.
And that, perhaps, was all Lorna ultimately hoped for.
Five minutes later, a figure came into view.
I looked up and recognized the man.
He smirked faintly and spoke in a lazy tone, “Well, well–how did you end up like this? Do you need me to
protect you?”
I couldn’t help but smile. It was Edmund!
I breathed a small sigh of relief. His timing was impeccable. If he hadn’t shown up, I’d have had to call him.
myself.
After all, I still needed Lorna, and I couldn’t let Cadell deal with her so easily.
The moment Cadell saw Edmund, it all clicked.
He turned on Lorna sharply. “You betrayed me? You’re back with Edmund? You handed him the trade secrets, didn’t you? Lorna, you’re nothing but a shameless woman!”
Lorna couldn’t meet his gaze. Instead, she looked pleadingly at Edmund “Edmund, help me. I’m really in
pain…”
Edmund’s lips curled up slightly. He made a subtle motion, and several well–trained men in black appeared, encircling Cadell.
Cadell’s expression darkened instantly. He gritted his teeth as he glared at Edmund. “You’re willing to go against the Hartman family for this woman?”
Edmund raised an eyebrow. “Cadell, let’s be clear. We were enemies long before this.”
He paused, then continued, ‘Have you forgotten… how you lured my fiancée into cheating?”
Cadell had no response to that. He clenched his jaw so tightly his teeth ground together, but he avoided the
topic.
“No matter what, this is between Lorna and me. I suggest you stay out of it!” Cadell threatened, albeit unconvincingly
Edmund, however, was unfazed.

He gently smiled and, with Lorna in tow, pulled her away from Cadell. With a touch of irony, he said, Aman as ungentlemanly as you isn’t in a position to negotiate with me.”
Cadell’s eyes burned into him. “Are you ready to face the consequences?”
Edmund chuckled softly and lazily took hold of Lorna’s wrist. “Cadell, I can’t help but wonder who gave you the confidence. to think the current Hartman family can threaten me?”
His words were razor–sharp, and Cadell’s face instantly turned pale.
Indeed, the Hartman family had suffered a series of devastating blows. First, their once–prized jewelry brand was exposed in a scandal, resulting in massive refunds.
Then, their trade secrets were stolen, causing the project to fail completely. The investments they had poured in turned to dust, resulting in significant financial losses.
These two hits had left the Hartman family a shadow of their former self.
Once, they might have been able to compete with Edmund; now, that opportunity was long gone.
Despite his indignation, Cadell didn’t dare challenge Edmund head–on. He knew full well that he would be the
one to lose.
All he could do was watch helplessly as Edmund took Lorna away. Throughout the ordeal, Lorna never glanced back at him. She followed Edmund carefully, and even though Edmund showed her no tenderness,
her face still radiated a bashful smile.
This scene was a crushing blow to Cadell. He glared furiously at Lorna’s retreating figure and growled through gritted teeth, like a wild animal. “Loma! I won’t let you off!”
Lorna flinched at his words, her body trembling slightly as if genuinely frightened.
Edmund casually patted her shoulder. “What’s there to fear? The Hartman family can’t touch me anymore.”
At his reassurance, Lorna relaxed. She turned back and gave Cadell a soft smile. “Cadell, I’ve told you before
-I had no choice. Just let it go…
Cadell’s eyes bulged in rage, his expression twisted with fury. He seemed ready to lash out at Lorna again, but Edmund’s men held him fast, leaving him no room to fight back.
Through the surveillance feed, I saw that Cadell was becoming more unhinged, He hurled a continuous stream of vicious insults, yet not a single one was directed at Edmund.
Edmund appeared to grow bored of the commotion. With a wave of his hand, his men instantly understood and stuffed a handkerchief into Cadell’s mouth.
I couldn’t hold back my laughter.
Edmund clearly wasn’t done. He ordered his men to bind Cadell and toss him at the foot of the stairs.
By now, Cadell couldn’t make a sound. With no strength to resist and no means to call for help, all he could
manage were muffled groans.
If no one happened to pass through the corridor, Cadell might remain trapped there indefinitely, without even a chance to reach for his phone.
The most amusing part? Lorna’s neighbor was me.

Unless I intervened, no one would notice Cadell’s pitiful state.
I couldn’t help but wonder how long he could endure without food, without water, and consumed by fury
