hapter 94 I Do It Willingly
“What is this?” My confusion had just surfaced, but before I could ask, Cyril explained, “Remember the new pistol I gave you a while ago? When you infiltrate the underground black market, everything on you will be
searched. I assumed this would be no exception.”
I couldn’t help but admire his meticulous attention to detail. It was true–everything on me had been taken, Including the pistol I’d carried for self–defense. However, the g’n was compact, its parts disassembled, and I’d cleverly disguised them as accessories. To the untrained eye, they were just ordinary trinkets. Unless the person searching me was a weapons expert, no one would ever suspect what they truly were. And that was highly unlikely
In the eyes of the Hartman family, I was just a minor player–someone with a bit of money but no real power. They’d known me for seven years by now and believed they had me all figured out. Even if they found something on me, they’d never suspect it was a weapon. Besides, Cyril had been helping me navigate the situation, so the chances of the new pistol being discovered were slim.
I’d thought that losing my means of self–defense would make infiltrating the Hodge family a lot tougher. But to my surprise, Cyril had taken the risk to bring it to me. He was even more thoughtful than I’d imagined. Or perhaps it was more than that–it seemed he cared enough about me to consider every detail.
My gaze softened as I spoke to him gently, “Cadell will likely continue his searches. Carrying this might be
troublesome, and it could even expose you.”
“Don’t worry. It won’t,” Cyril replied, his voice calm yet filled with unwavering confidence that was impossible to doubt. I didn’t know where his assurance came from, but I trusted him completely. So, after he spoke, I didn’t press further.
He went on, I tweaked the design of the parts a bit. Even if someone finds them, they won’t suspect a thing. But you’ll need to be careful when using it. The outer layer of a few parts needs to be removed, or it could
affect how it functions.”
As he spoke, his voice was soft, almost soothing. He described the parts‘ appearance and placed them in my hand, letting me feel their cool, smooth texture. He explained in detail how to use them, and I couldn’t help but smile, my eyes softening with gratitude. “Cyril, having you here with me… it really makes me happy.”
For a moment, he froze, his movements halting mid–air. I couldn’t see his expression clearly, but I could feel his fingers curl slightly, as if caught off guard.
He seemed to blush ever so slightly, his usual confidence faltering for a moment.
As I pictured his flustered expression, a wave of affection washed over me–he was downright cute.
I couldn’t help but tease, “Cyril, my pocket’s not exactly secure. What if we stash it here?” I gestured toward my chest with a sly grin.
I’d been mulling it over. With Cadell’s temper, I knew he’d be itching for a confrontation tonight. Even though the parts were tiny, a keen eye could easily pick them out.
But if I hid them in my b*a, the padding would shield them completely. No one would find them unless they got really handsy
Chapter 941 fordingly
Cyril paused, his silence stretching for what felt like forever. Just as I thought Id crossed a line, his fingers- warm and deliberate–gently parted my collar. His voice, low and rough, sent a shiver down my spine
“Alright.”
Now it was my turn to squirm, my teasing backfiring spectacularly
I instantly regretted my little joke. The tables had turned, and I was the one left flustered!
His fingers, rough with a hint of callus, grazed my skin, igniting a fire that left me breathless.
The room was pitch black, but the air between us crackled with unspoken desire.
Who knew stashing a few items could take forever? The seconds dragged on, and I half–wondered if I’d been
dosed with something.
I couldn’t hold back any longer, my voice hoarse as I whispered, “Cyril.
“Just one more,” he murmured, his voice a soft caress. “Almost there.”
Some parts stayed at my waist–small enough to go unnoticed unless someone was really looking
Whether it was deliberate or not, his fingers lingered, tracing the curve of my waist with a touch so light it sent sparks through me.
A wry thought crossed my mind. Had the incense from that underground den messed with my head? My body was on fire, and I ached for him like never before.
As if he’d plucked the thought from my mind, he leaned in, his voice a low rumble. “Aurora, need a hand? You seem restless.”
His offer was like a siren’s call, and I was dangerously close to giving in.
But reality crashed in–Lorna had just shown up, spinning tales that would’ve set Cadell off. Any minute now, he’d storm in, furious and ready for a fight.
He’s not one to hold back his temper, so it won’t be long before he comes barging in to vent his anger on me. But given Cyril’s endurance, if we went through with it, it wouldn’t be over anytime soon.
I was terrified of being caught.
At that thought, I shook my head softly. “No, I’ll be fine.”
I couldn’t see his face, but I sensed his disappointment.
He stayed silent but brought something to my lips.
I tentatively bit into it–a straw.
“You haven’t eaten in hours. Here, drink some water. I brought food.”
My heart warmed, and I murmured, “Thanks.”
“No need for thanks, Aurora.” As he broke the food into bite–sized pieces and fed me, his voice was soft but earnest, “I take care of you because I want to. If it were up to me, I’d spend my life looking after you.”
I couldn’t put a name to the emotion swelling inside me, but it felt like something raw and untamed was clawing its way out.
I forced it down, staying quiet as I ate, desperate to hide what I was feeling.
Chapter 04 – Do It Wellingt
I was only halfway through eating when heavy footsteps echoed closer, dripping with rage.
I jolted back to reality, hissing at Cyril, It’s Cadell. He’s here!”
