The person filming–probably one of Celeste’s friends–let the camera shake as exaggerated cheering filled the background.]]
“Awwww!”
“Celeste, you’re so lucky!“]]

Immediately after, Celeste sent another text message with an attached image.]
[Thanks for your childhood friend, Daphne!]]]
[You trained him well–I really like him~]]]
The image was a screenshot of a restaurant bill.]
The menu items were densely packed, and the total had skyrocketed to seventy–five thousand dollars.]
That was twenty–five thousand more than Crystal Lounge’s fifty–thousand minimum spend.[]
Finally, she added one more message:
[Thanks for treating us today! I had such a wonderful birthday!]]
She obviously thought the extra twenty–five grand would

Then she deleted both of her previous messages.
I snorted with laughter.
With Celeste’s pathetic self–esteem and competitive streak, I’d bet money she was jumping up and down with rage right now, about to order even more

Too bad she didn’t know.
Archer’s last seventy–five thousand had just gone straight into my pocket.
Now, I couldn’t wait to see how this pair of idiots was going to handle what came next.
