I closed my eyes and quickly turned to focus on the pan in front of me. What was I doing? Yes, he was my fiance, but we didn’t have an intimate relationship, and I wasn’t going to until I was ready. Him walking around showing off his perfectly toned body was messing with my head.
I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn’t even realize Blake was standing behind me.
“You are allowed to look, you know,” Blake whispered, making me jump a little.
“Bloody hell Blake. Don’t scare me like that.” I jumped, putting my hand on my chest to calm my racing heart.
Blake laughed. “I’m not even sorry. That’s what you get for trying to pretend I don’t make you horny.*
I rolled my eyes and turned back to my cooking. Blake laughed and walked to the fridge, pulling out a bottle of water. He didn’t bother to pin his t–shirt on.
“What do those words mean?” I asked, trying to focus on the spaghetti I was stirring.
“What words?”
“The words on your chest.” I sighed.
Suddenly Blake was right behind me again. He put his hands on my waist and spun me around.
“You mean these once?” He pointed to the tattoo.
Blake was so close I could feel the heat radiating from his bare chest. He looked down at me with intense eyes, and my lady parts quivered.
I nodded and swallowed loudly.
“It says, By the power of a Storm Moon.”
“What does that mean?” My words came out as a croak. My voice was deceiving me.
“Silly frat thing from when I was at college. You don’t like it?” Blake raised his hand and cupped my face, gently rubbing his thumb across my cheek.
He asked a question, Rosy. Find your damn voice.
I cleared my throat. “It’s nice. I just thought there was a meaning. I’ve never seen it up close. What about the wolf?” I asked and gently ran my fingers across the wolf tattoo.
Blake let out a low growl. I pulled my hand back and looked up at him. Did he just growl like a dog?
He had his eyes closed, and I could hear his breathing fasten. Blake slowly opened his eyes, exposing two pitch spheres.
What the hell? I blinked a few times to ensure I wasn’t hallucinating. Blake quickly closed his eyes again and shook his head a little. When he opened his eyes again, the black was gone and replaced by a dark shade of blue. Was I imagining things?!
Blake clenched his jaws, his hands on my waist tightened.
“The wolf was also a frat thing. You’re meant to put the name of your love here” he pointed to the small space between the howling wolf and the barbwire where there were quotation marks.
“We all had serious girlfriends in college, so the frat thought it would be funny to get the frat symbol plus the girlfriend’s name tattooed, but they didn’t tell us that until we had the wolf ink already done. I refused to get Kyra’s name on me until we were married. Now, I think that was a smart move on my
behalf.”
“That makes sense. I like this tattoo. You guys have wolves around your house, so it’s fitting. Will you finish the tattoo?” The last part came out as more of a whisper. I had my eyes fixed on his tattoo, not having the courage to look up.

Oh, how I wanted to kiss him.
Blake’s eyes flickered down to my lips, making me instinctively lick them. My heart pounded against my chest as I stared up at him. Blake and he wonsidert do anything without me initiating it, but at the moment, I wish he would just close the distance.
“I will add your name to my chest so I can wear it with pride and show everyone that I have a gorgeous woman in my life whom I love more than life itself, Blake whispered, kissing my forehead before walking away.
