Chapter 113
“In the 15 years I’ve been in this company, lord knows the amazing memories I’ve made. I’ve had the pleasure of watching many of you climb the ladder of success within Cooper & Co. I’ve made some great friends and added many of you to what I would call my family. However, today, with the heaviest heart, have handed in my resignation Effective immediately.” Gasps and no’s echoed throught the room. The look of confusion and shock on every face.
“After I leave today, you all will hear many rumors about my sudden departure. However, the truth is that since I had dedicated a lot of my time to work, that dedication to this company has affected my marriage and my relationship with my children. So now, I think it’s time I let go of this company and repair the broken relationships I’ve got at home. I want to take this time to thank you all for making my 15 years here so memorable, and I wish you all nothing but the best in the future.” His voice was cracking slightly. Moisture forming around his eyes.
“Blake, thank you for everything Mr. Cooper and you and done for me. As you embark on a new journey in life, I wish you nothing but the best and happy married life” Patrick’s eyes flickered to me. He smiled and gave me a quick nod. I swallowed the lump forming in my throat.
“That was all everyone. I’ll hand it over to Blake now” he picked up his folder and walked to the back of the roots.
“Thank you, Patrick. We wish you the very best for your future endeavors as well. If anyone here has any questions about this, please come and see me directly. I don’t want to hear any ridiculous gossips circulating about this great man’s departure. Patrick is aware that once he has sorted his life out and wants to rejoin the company, we will always open our arms and welcome him back. So please help him with this transition.” He gave everyone a stern look before pulling out a small folder from his stack of folders.
“Moving on to other things. I want to introduce you all to Greg Mason. Greg is the Sales and Marketing Manager over at our Bakers Field branch. They have had some issues, so Mr. Cooper has requested that Greg come over and visit us. Mr. Cooper is hoping Greg will learn a few things from our Sales and Marketing team and us. He will be shadowing Rosy for the next few weeks so he can see how she runs her department and hopefully help Greg sort out the issues they are having” Blake slid the folder across the table, and it stopped in front of me.
He said, what now?? Shadowing me? When did I say yes to that?!
“Rosy, Mr. Cooper has sent you some information. He has given explicit details on what are some of the things he wants Greg to achieve from his visit he didn’t look at me directly.
He knew I’d be pissed about this. I didn’t like interference in my job, and Greg was a huge hurdle. I clenched my jaws and narrowed my eyes at Blake.
“And if I refuse to?” I asked. All eyes turned to me.
“Then it will be something you’ll have to take up with Mr. Cooper himself.” He finally looked at me. Annoyance clear in his eyes. I was challenging his authority, and he didn’t like it.
“I’ll be sure to do that, thank you” my eyes flickered to Greg, who was staring at me with his eyebrow raised. I turned my attention down to the file in front of me. Assholes could have just asked me if I was okay with this, but no, let’s just push her around because she’s a relative now.
I cursed under my breath, anger bubbling inside me. I opened the folder to find an email on top of all the other papers. I picked it up and read it.
“My Dearest Rosalie,
I hope this email finds you well and happy.
Congratulations on the marking, by the way. You are officially part of the Cooper family now. I am so proud of Blake and you.
