As soon as Sienna walked through the door, Elisa rushed over, her face etched with concern.
“Miss Amber’s been in a mood since she got back, Elisa said, her voice low. “She won’t talk about what happened, and she hasn’t eaten anything Just sitting there on the couch, like she’s waiting for you.”
Vivian rolled her eyes in annoyance. “She’s not a little kid. Why do we need to care about her? Let her go hungry for a bit. Shell be fine
Sienna sighed helplessly. “Go change and wash up, Vivian. Il go check on her”

‘Amber is clearly doing this on purpose. It is so obvious. She just wants Sienna’s attention. Honestly, I just want to give her a few playful smacks on the butt, Vivian thought, reluctantly heading upstairs to wash up.
Sienna noticed Amber’s backpack carelessly tossed on the floor. Normally, Amber loved playing games on her phone, but today the phone wasn’t on the table. She saw a pink corner peeking out from the backpack.
Sienna pulled it out and found that the screen was completely shattered. A bad feeling settled in her stomach. “Amber, were you waiting for me“” Sienna asked gently.
Amber huffed, turning her head away with a sharp tone. “No one’s waiting for you! I’m just sitting here, thinking!”
Seeing Amber’s puffy cheeks, Sienna smiled and ruffled her hair. “Elisa said you haven’t eaten. How about I make you some chicken stew?”
“Really?” Amber’s eyes immediately brightened, and she smiled widely at Sienna, full of anticipation.
Sienna chuckled. “Of course. I’ll make it for you!
Amber suddenly realized how easily she’d given in, and her cheeks turned red with embarrassment. She bit her lip, huffed, and turned her back to Sienna, trying to salvage some dignity, I don’t want any. I’m not even hungry.”
Sienna knew her too well. “Well, I’m hungry. Want to join
Amber nodded, trying to sound reluctant. “Fine, I’ll eat with you, but just to humor you!
“Tim going to go change. Amber, can you go help Elisa get the ingredients ready? Sienna asked.
Amber jumped up, barely able to hide her excitement. She tried to act all nonchalant, but her eyes totally gave her away. “Of course I can. I’m not just here for a free meal.”
Sienna asked Vivian if she wanted to eat. Vivian agreed and changed into her pajamas, saying, “Sienna, let’s make it together.”
Vivian figured Sienna must be hungry and just wanted to whip up a quick bowl for hereil
But then Sienna added, “Great Amber’s downstairs helping Elisa prepare the ingredients Why don’t you go check on them?”
“Wait, Amber’s eating too? Vivian asked, clearly annoyed
Sienna nodded. “Yeah, Amber hasn’t eaten anything tonight”
Vivian finally understood. It wasn’t Sienna who was hungry. It was Amber. And it wasn’t like anyone was stopping Amber from eating Sienna was already exhausted and now had to cook something for her.
Vivian was extremely angry but pretended to be willing, forcing a smile. “Don’t worry, Sienna I’ll make sure to help out.”
When Sienna finally made into the kitchen, it was a complete disaster. Ingredients were scattered all over the floor. Vivian and Amber had already started fighting
Sienna closed her eyes, rubbed her forehead, and said firmly, “Stop” Sienna had originally hoped to take the opportunity to ask Amber about what had happened today, but it seemed like that would have to wait.
At the sound of Sienna’s voice, Vivian froze. But Amber, refusing to back down, grabbed a fistful of flour and chucked it right at Vivian’s face–then stood there, trying to look all innocent.
Vivian jumped in first, “Sienna, I was just trying to help, and she went off on me for no reason! Look what she did to the kitchen!”
Amber shot back. “I did not Vivian was the one causing trouble. Vivian, you’re lying. You’re always doing things and then pretending you didn’t.”

Vivian snorted, “Amber, are you seriously going to say you didn’t want it?”
Amber glared at her, looking like an angry kitten. Her short hair was covered in veggies and egg, making both of them look ridiculous.
“Alright, that’s enough, Sienna said firmly “Both of you, go upstairs and clean yourselves up. Elisa, have the maids clean up down here. I’ll use the kitchen upstairs.
Amber shot her hand up. “I want to help you!”
Vivian jumped in, not to be outdone. Sienna, I want to help roof
Sienna waved them off. “Nope, not happening. The only thing you two need to do right now is wash up. If you don’t, no food for either of you.”
Both girls, muttering under their breath, went upstairs, but not without pushing each other a little.
Amber, though shorter and rounder than Vivian, had enough force to almost knock Vivian over. Then, walking proudly with her chest out, she strutted back to her room, clearly pleased with herself.
Elisa helped Sienna in the kitchen, and before long, the ingredients were prepped and ready. “Miss Sienna, it’s so good to have you back. The house feels like home again, Elisa said, her voice filled with emotion.
As she spoke, her thoughts drifted to Winifred, who still hadn’t come home. With a hint of worry, Elisa asked, “Miss Sienna, do you know when Miss Winifred will be hack?
Sienna’s expression became determined. “Soon,” she replied firmly.
A wave of bitterness washed over Sienna as she thought about her mother. The image of her mother’s silhouette in her memories grew more and more blurred, but her longing for her mother never faded.
“Miss Sienna, the chicken is ready,” Elisa called, snapping Sienna out of her thoughts and bringing her focus back to the food.
By the time Vivian and Amber came back downstairs, the chicken stew was ready and smelled amazing. Both of them couldn’t help but swallow in
unison.
Sienna looked at their eager expressions and smiled. “Come on, eat up. It’ll get cold if you wait”
“Alright, alright” both girls replied, their voices and actions perfectly in sync. “Let’s eat together”
Sienna wasn’t really hungry, so she only took a couple of bites. Then she spotted Lana standing at the doorway and immediately sensed that something was wrong.
