“So?” Everyone turned towards him, and he reddened a little, obviously not liking the attention.
- so.. Umm… What if we wake her wolf spirit?” Benji stuttered.
Mia placed her hand on Benji’s shoulder and nodded, encouraging him to explain himself further.
He took a deep breath before continuing, “When a werewolf child is born, their wolf spirit is born with them. The spirit gives the child strength and helps them prepare for the day they first transform. During their first transformation, the spirit connects itself to their wolf form, and therefore the birth of the wolf happens. King Cooper and Max are prime examples. They shared a spirit, and the spirit prepared them both for the transformation; however, when the time came to birth the wolf, the birthright Blake had claimed the spirit; therefore only Blake could birth the wolf.”
Everyone looked at Benji like he was explaining the most obvious thing. I, on the other hand, was starting to understand the mechanics of this whole werewolf thing.
“If you think about it, Luna never got to experience her wolf spirit. The suppressant stopped her wolf spirit from being born, essentially making it dormant So as she grew up, she never got to gain the strength and abilities a wolf spirit provides. I wouldn’t be surprised if her spirit doesn’t even know it’s dormant because it never got to see the light. If we could wake the spirit enough to get her attention, it might start working on Luna’s body and provide her with the vitality and stamina she needs to cope with the decaying. She has a strong bloodline which means she will have a strong wolf spirit. Once the spirit starts to
inhabit Luna’s body, it may even heal the parts the decaying destroys.” Benji looked around at everyone.
Every member of The Coven had the look of surprise plastered on their face.
“Why the fuck didn’t you say that before?!” Elijah finally blurted.

“Umm.. well… We didn’t know Luna’s heritage before. It only just occurred to me,” Benji stammered, shrugging his shoulders.
Mia hugged him, placing a kiss on his cheek.
“See, you are full of great ideas,” she laughed.
Benji blushed and quickly stepped away from Mia’s embrace.
“Okay, so how do we wake up Rosy’s wolf spirit?” Rocky asked, bouncing in his spot from excitement.
It was the first breakthrough we had.
“It’s a long shot, though. Whether it’s going to work or not is yet to be determined. So don’t get your hopes up,” Klaus explained.
“Klaus is right. We have to take every step carefully. Any ideas on how we can wake her spirit?” Blake squeezed my shoulder as he looked at all the
members.
Even though he was being practical, I could feel the excitement oozing off him.
“Mate!” bawled Elijah.
“I mean that you and Luna haven’t finished your mating yet. That is a good way of waking her spirit” Elijah cleared his throat and spoke in a more
appropriate tone.
Klaus narrowed his eyes and clicked his tongue at Elijah.
I blushed at the thought of everyone talking about mating so casually. Blake and I still hadn’t talked about when we wanted to complete the process. He had said that we should wait until I was ready, but guess if that’s what needed to be done for a chance to save my life, then I was all for it.

“I may have a way, but you won’t like it,” Benji muttered, scratching the back of his neck.
“You’re full of good ideas today, aren’t you.” Elijah snickered.

Benji, what’s your idea?? Klaus demanded.
*Well.. umm… My grandfather once told me that using magic to mess with an unwoken spirit could be lethal. Unwoken spirits are feral. However, the witches and warlocks out there that have successfully meddled with feral wolf spirits using dark magic.” Benji swallowed loudly.
Where was he going with this? Wasn’t dark magic how I got into this trouble in the first place?
“Do you have someone in mind that can help us?” Blake asked.
Benji nodded and gave Klaus a nervous glance.
“Who?” Klaus’s voice was louder than necessary.
Benji lowered his gaze and started fiddling with a ring he had on.
“Max,” he whispered.
