Chapter 116
-JADA-
Fueled by an overwhelming surge of anger, I sent the delicate silver vase flying across the room. The sound of its shattering impact echoed like thunder, leaving shiny fragments scattered across the floor–a dark reminder of the humiliation I faced earlier.

I was still grappling with the shock of watching Apollo turn his back on me supposed to be one of the most magical night of our lives–our engagement night. The excitement I had anticipated for months felt like a heavy weight pressing down on my chest.
Ms. Reign had assured me that her son would marry me, despite his complicated, forbidden relationship with Lana. We had come here with the intention of keeping them apart, but it was clear we had failed in that mission. Instead of creating distance, we seemed to have drawn them closer together.
The moment I spotted her stepping onto
that stage, a sharp urge surged within me to drag her off by the hair and throw her to the ground. But I knew I had to keep my composure in front of the guests, no matter how furious I was about her blatant move.
Apollo was meant to be mine; Ms. Reign had promised him to me. Lana had no place in his life, and she needed to understand that.I knew she was obsessed with him based on her reaction to seeing him with me, but not once did I think she was insane enough to join us on the stage and ruin everything for us.

Hearing that she was his mate was the shocking revelation of the evening. I knew the bond between mates was
sacred, especially when touched by the Mystic Cloud River. This connection had been a secret between them since sacred, especially when touched by th
their time in Havenville, and they kept it hidden from their families for weeks.
Choosing to stay at a hotel tonight seemed the best option until I calmed down; I didn’t want anyone but my parents to see me in this state.
My father entered the room after hearing the sound, glanced at the remnants of the vase, and sighed. “Looks like I’ll need to compensate the hotel for this.”
I narrow my eyes at him, frustrated. “Couldn’t you have done something about that girl the second you saw her enter the stage with us? You should have led her out of the ballroom until the ceremony was over! What is the point of security if they don’t stop psychopaths from ruining our evening?”
My parents understood how vital this wedding was for both families. Security had failed us today.
“They were trying their best to avoid a scene in front of the reporters and guests,” he reminds me. “It was crucial to handle the situation delicately.”
Delicately?
I was humiliated! Why were they so worried about causing an uproar?

“Come on,” he says, trying to lighten the mood. “Let’s do something to lift your spirits. I’ve already ordered a new car for you. Don’t let today ruin the rest of your week. We’ll sort everything out, and you’ll marry Apollo
eventually.”
Eventually?
I didn’t want to wait. I wanted to marry Apollo right away! With Lana increasingly intruding on his life, I had to act fast to eliminate her presence.
“I can’t wait,” I insist. “I want to marry Apollo immediately!”
My father looks serious at my request, appearing frustrated. “I’m sure your mother is handling everything with Emily as we speak. Things are sensitive right now, and it may take some time to get Apollo to agree again.”
I angrily smashed another vase onto the ground. I had never felt so embarrassed in my life.
“I don’t care what it takes,” I snap. “Apollo needs to be mine. I refuse to marry anyone else but him. You need to
make this happen!”
My father had always given me everything I wanted. If anyone could force Apollo to marry me, it was him.
He nods. “I’ll find a way. Don’t worry. You just need to be patient with me.”
Patient?
I had no patience left. I wanted Lana to pay for ruining what should have been a beautiful night with my fiancé. She made everything about herself and stole my future husband from me.
Ms. Reign was right; Lana was just like her mother. I finally understood the hurt that Ms. Reign felt being around her. I was experiencing the same pain now.
My mother walked through the door, making her presence known and directing our attention to her.
“Can you believe that girl?” she exclaims, tossing her purse onto the sofa and collapsing back onto it, one hand on her forehead. “She embarrassed our family in front of everyone! All the guests have been calling me, wanting to know exactly what went down on that stage. Half of them didn’t even know who Lana was.”
My phone buzzed incessantly too. Friends who attended the ceremony were reaching out, worried about me after the event had been canceled.
I rush over to my mother. “What did Ms. Reign say?” I demand. “She must be furious. I can’t imagine how humiliated she must feel.”
I knew how much she despised Lana. She was probably fuming now that our big day was ruined.
My mother sighs, “She still wants the marriage to happen, of course. However, I told her we’d only proceed if you’re on board.”
Chapter 116
Of course I was on board! Did I ever give the impression that I did not want to marry a successful, strikingly
handsome man like Apollo?
My eyes widen. “Why would you say that? You know how much I want to marry Apollo!”
She held my hand gently. “Relax, darling. Emily wants this wedding just as much as we do. I just wanted to put a little pressure on her so she’d push her son to listen.”
I calmed down slightly at her explanation. “I want Lana completely out of the picture. I don’t care what you both do, just make sure she’s out of Apollo’s life.”
My mother nods, “Emily already has a plan. I know her well. She will not let today stop her from achieving her goal Somehow or the other she will force Apollo to marry you. If there is anyone in this world that can force him to do something like that, it is his mother.”
Thoped my mother knew what she was saying.
I didn’t know how much more patience I had left.
