Chapter 188
What I did know was that wolves didn’t normally get this big.
Kiki rubbed herself against my arm and panted excitedly. Her ears perked up, and she wagged her tall in glee.
have wanted to meet you for so long. Being trapped inside the darkness of your mind, all these years, it’s been suffocating and heartbreaking
“I don’t understand. You’ve been awake? Benji said that the suppressant would have stopped you from waking up,” I explained, still in shock with how this was possible. I looked up at Max, confusion clear as day on his face.
“I made a mistake. I didn’t know that Evelyn had stopped refreshing your suppressant. It wasn’t until you had your little fainting episode that I figured it out. That’s when I woke Kiki. I knew she would be able to help you from within. You going into heat wasn’t just because Blake marked you; it was Kiki trying to push you to finish your mating so you could get stronger.” Selene twirled around, explaining herself.
I’m sorry if I crossed a line by making you go into heat. I was just trying to help Kiki muttered in my head.
I turned to find Kiki bowing her head in front of me. Her voice was filled with sadness. Without thinking, I reached out and ran my hands through her fur, trying to comfort her. Kiki let out a low growl making me jump. I took a step back, not knowing what to do.
“Don’t be scared. Kiki will never hurt you. Normally wolves don’t get touched by their human counterpart because they live inside them. But since we are in your subconscious, you can see each other face to face. The touch of the human counterpart is stimulating to a wolf.” Selene smiled at me.
Sorry Kiki rumbled, a low whine vibrating through her.
“That’s okay. Even I’m still getting used to this,” I spoke out loud, still trying to understand how this mind talking worked.
“Why can’t we hear what Kiki is saying?” Max questioned.
“Because Kiki is Rosy’s wolf. Any person can see a wolf, but only the person that possesses the wolf spirit can talk to them. You should know this already. Max,” Selene snapped.
“Yeah, unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with a wolf spirit. I wasn’t special enough; therefore, I didn’t learn all the details.” Max snorted.
Selene shook her head and chuckled, “You, my child, are extraordinary. I wish I could tell you how special, but why ruin the fun.”
Max narrowed her eyes. “Maybe you will make me like you more if you tell me.”
“You like me, Max. Your lies don’t deceive me. You have resentment for what has happened, but at the end of the day, you know I have plans for you.”
“Yet you won’t tell me what the plans are?” Max snickered.
Selene narrowed her eyes, “Tell me, why do you think I let you learn magic? It’s never happened that someone from a werewolf descendant became a mage. But that’s all something you already know about, don’t you?” Selene tilted her head and smiled.
I watched Max’s body tense up. Was there something he wasn’t telling me?
“Rosy, Kiki has already started to strengthen your body from the inside. The suppressant shouldn’t hurt you now. As much as I don’t want to mess with a magic spell cast by a mage, I can lift the suppressant spell. Although I have to ask, are you ready for it and what’s about to come?” Selene walked towards me. Her hair swayed with the movement of her hips.
“What do you mean?” I asked, my voice cracking a little.
“Max has already told you about Amon and his plans. Amon will not attack Michael until he is sure every person with the right to the throne is destro first. Right now, you are a greater threat to Amon than Jonathon Whitlock is. But, with Lena and Beth out of the way, he will come after you, especially new that Kiki is awake.” Selene reached over and tucked my loose hair behind my ear.
I felt my anxiety rising. How did I end up in such a situation? Once upon a time, I thought the biggest problem in my life was my promiscuous mother. Now I was being hunted by an evil spirit for having a bloodline I didn’t even know about while being part of a supernatural world I had barely learned about.

“Stop scaring her. Selene! Amen will not get to het. Blake and I will stop him before he does anything stupid,” Mas loinned.
“What if I told you Rosy was the way to stop him?” Selene turned to Max.
“Kiki is an exceptional wolf spirit. She can remove a spirit from the host body and return it to the spirit realm,” she explained further.
“Why would you bless Rosy with such a strong spirit?!” Max growled, looking at the huge wolf giving him a menacing look.
“Because Rosy is the one that will return balance to the supernatural world. I figured she should be the one to relieve Amon of his right to exist
My heart rate picked up. How was I going to do any of that? I knew absolutely nothing about how to fight or even function my wolf
The heat started to rise in my body as panic set in.
“But she isn’t prepared for this. You can not put her on a path she isn’t ready to take.” Max growled, his hands curled into a fist.
“That’s why she has Blake, you, and The Coven. It will be your job to prepare her.” Selene smiled like it was not a big deal.
“1-… 15…
I can’t,” I stuttered, looking around at everyone present before me.
“Yes, you can. You are a Whitlock. Strong, Brave, Powerful. You are made for this. I made sure of it” Selene reached over and gently stroked my cheek.
“It’s time for me to go.” Selene started to back away. “Max, please remember, you have to help Rosy. She needs you.”
Kiki gave me a loud bark and side rub before running over to follow Selene.
“Please tell me what my destiny is!” Max exclaimed.
“To unlock your destiny, you have to find your mate. Your true mate. There is someone very special out there for you. All you have to do is look in the right place.” Selene retrieved into the darkness.
I looked up at Max. He was clenching his jaws. Selene’s words told me I wasn’t Max’s mate after all. So who was and why did he think I was his mate, to begin with?
“Rosy, great things await Blake and you. Embrace it. Kiki will guide your way. But before I go, let me relieve you of the burden you’ve been carrying. Beset free” Selene blew a kiss in the air, releasing a sea of glittering blue butterflies.
Before I could say or ask anything, the butterflies all flew over to me and encircled me.
I watched all the glittering butterflies fly around in circles. They were all stunning. The more I watched them, the light my body felt. My vision got hazy, and before I knew it, darkness took over…
