Chapter 100
I lost footing when our lips touched and the air was sucked out of my lungs. Zade circled his arm around my waist and i felt the hem of my dress riding up, exposing the bottom of my ass when he anchored his fingers into my waist.
The taste of whiskey on his lips blended with the tequila on mine and the tastes danced on my tongue while he pressed me against him and held me so close that I felt like I could fall and he’d still hold me up.
Zade walked us back over the black plastic-covered floor until my back hit the wall and he entwined his fingers in my hair and deepened the kiss. The heat from his body pressed against mine was causing a throbbing ache between my legs and I pressed them together when I felt how wet I was getting.

He pulled back, we paused for a beat and I took a breath while he dragged his lips along my jaw.
The hallway was quieter and the music seemed to stop completely when his breaths fanned my ear and the heaviness of each warm breath was the only thing I heard.
My skin burned under his touch and the hairs on my body stood straight when he gently slid his fingers up my arm.
He pressed his forehead against the side of my head and his voice was husky and deep when he whispered the words that would make the world stop and the stillness turn into a ringing painful sound.
“I can help you. I can get rid of him,”
What the hell did he say?
The taste in my mouth that I loved a second ago now made me nauseated instead and I put my hands on his chest and pushed him back. His hair fell in front of his face and he licked his lips while his eyes flickered over mine.
“What did you just say?”
Zade tried to walk closer but I held out my hands to keep him at a distance. If he came closer we’d touch and if we touched we’d kiss and then I might say something I’ll regret. It’s easy to agree to insanity when your mind isn’t the one making the choice.
“I know what he’s done to you,”
I shook my head and dragged my hand down my neck and my chest. It suddenly felt like someone turned the heat up and made the hallway into a sauna.
“You don’t know anything,” I panted.
“I know everything,” he took one step and moved fast when he grabbed my wrists and pinned them to the wall beside my head, “and I can help you if you let me. You’ll be rid of him for good.”
I shook my head and kept my eyes pinned on his chest.
“Please stop. You’re drunk, you don’t know what you’re saying,” if Darian heard him he’d be dead. If Darian smelled him on me he’d be dead. If even the slightest whisper of this night got back to the king, Zade was dead.
A deep laugh rumbled from him and he pressed his lips against my head.
“I’m a big boy, I can handle myself,”
Not against Darian. I thought.
A long silence lingered in the air between our bodies and I heard his heartbeat as calm as ever.
It was a nice change from the erratic madness of my heart beating like the last seconds of a ticking bomb.
But everything ends, even the calm and silent needs to be balanced by chaos and destruction to be appreciated.
A harsh gust of wind blew in around us when the doors opened from the back of the club.

Chapter 100
Zade and I looked around and a high-pitched scream rippled from the dance floor and down the hallway.
I could only think of one person whose presence caused a terror like the one that I was feeling.
“He’s here!” Trixy warned.
I pushed off the wall and ran down the hall to see what was happening in the club. When I peaked around the corner I saw a large group of men barging in in unison and everyone on the floor parted to make room.
It was when I saw their uniform that my breath hitched. They were the royal guard and if they were here it meant that Darian had to be close by. Trixy sensed him but I couldn’t see him anywhere. And then like an answer to a question I didn’t ask, he walked out from behind them in a straight line over to Nora who stood on a table having just danced with a bottle of vodka in her hand. She lowered her hand and watched him walk towards her slowly, each step was calculated and he wasn’t in a hurry.
The closer he got the more her head fell, he knew the slow torment he was causing her, I could hear it in her heart.
“We have to go!” Trixy rushed.
“It’s too late,”
He looked past Nora, his eyes locked with mine and a darkness swallowed his face where the hatred I knew grew to new heights and I felt the danger emanating from him across the entire club.
But something was off, I took one small step to the side and turned halfway to watch Zade. Their eyes were locked in battle, Darian wasn’t watching me, he was watching Zade- he’d seen him.
I turned to look at Darian, something I instantly regretted and when I turned back Zade was gone. The hairs on the back of my neck stood straight like nails and my heart skipped a beat when the wind pushed up against my back. I knew he was there, standing behind me, watching me, and waiting til I turned
around.
Here goes nothing…
I turned on my heels and the sound of my shoes peeling on the sticky floor was the loudest sound in the club right now.
They turned the music off the second Darian and his men walked in but everyone went from watching us too slowly being guided out one by one while Darian stood as a mountain in front of me.
