Chapter 104 Was the Fluoro Track Discovered?
When I uttered the number, Philip’s expression visibly shifted, a flicker of surprise flashed across his face
He looked at me with a hint of suspicion. “You seem to know quite a lot of things, he remarked
“Indeed, I admitted without hesitation, my voice calm and measured ‘After all, I was once Cadell’s fiancée”
Given how much our wedding had blown up, there was no way Phillip didn’t know about it.
Sure enough, after I dropped that tidbit, the alertness in his eyes began to fade.
His fingers trailed down my hair, lazily twirling the ends. His touch wasn’t gentle–more than once, he pulled hard enough to make me flinch.
Then, abruptly, he asked, “Did you and Cadell ever have s*x?
His face was unreadable, but I could feel the tension in his voice. If my answer displeased him, the hand im my hair would yank hard enough to tear a strand from my scalp
“Is it really important? I shot back
“Of course, Philip replied, his tone slow and deliberate. “I have a bit of a… cleanliness obsession. If you’ve
been with Cadell, I’d have to give you a thorough scrubbing”
I
As he spoke, his gaze drifted to a far wall. I followed his line of sight and saw a collection of brushes, some
even made of harsh wire
Using something like that would leave my skin raw and bleeding in no time.
But I wasn’t intimidated. “With his four–minute stamina? Not interested,” I quipped, my voice dripping with
sarcasm
Philip’s dark expression dissolved instantly. He burst out laughing, his body shaking against me as he leaned on my shoulder, utterly amused
Luckily, I’d hidden the gen on my other side. With Philip pressed so close, he’d never sense its presence.
I turned my head slightly, my eyes fixed on the vulnerable curve of his neck. The faint pulse of his veins mocked me, as if reminding me how easily I could end him.
Yet I forced myself to look away, resisting the urge to strike. It wasn’t the right moment.
Philip was a man who took no chances. Even though he appeared alone in the basement, I could feel the heat
of multiple gazes on me. At least a dozen, by my estimate.
If I made the slightest move, those guns would be on me in an instant, turning me into swiss cheese before I
could lay a finger on Philip.
As much as I wanted to make him pay, I held back. He’d let his guard down eventually–they always do.
I didn’t believe he’d keep so many eyes on me forever. At least not while he indulged in his desires. He still needed to maintain his gentlemanly appearance, and combined with his obsession with privacy, I knew he
wouldn’t let his guards witness such an intimate moment.
I needed to find the perfect moment to strike. One swift, decisive move. After all, I only had one shot at this. If
I failed, it would all be over. I couldn’t risk such a catastrophic failure.

I lowered my gaze, letting my fingers rest loosely at my sides, motionless Pressing my tongue against the base of my mouth, I sent a faint vibration through the Fluoro Track, transmitting a message to Darian it was now the perfect moment to act. Soon, Darian responded, and we quietly synchronized our plans. Only then
did I let myself relax a little.
Philip had finally stopped laughing, his eyes lifting to meet mine. I had to admit, he was sharp. Eyeing me with a raised brow, he asked, “Aurora, you’re not up to something, are you?
I was certain the Fluoro Track’s vibrations were faint enough–even with Phillip leaning so close, he couldn’t possibly sense them. This was just his attempt to bait me. I gave him a faintly mocking smile. “Mr. Hodge, what exactly do you think I could do?”
“True,” he said with a nonchalant shrug. “You were stripped of everything, not even a hairpin was left on you. I
really shouldn’t doubt you.”
Just as I started to relax, his hand clamped down on my face with brutal force. My breath hitched as his malicious eyes bore into me, trying to uncover every secret I was hiding. Then, without warning, he jammed his fingers into my mouth, probing toward the base of my tongue.
My heart hammered in my chest as his sharp nails pressed into the soft flesh, drawing blood that flooded my mouth in an instant. Philip’s eyes narrowed, but the certainty in them wavered, giving way to confusion. I knew why–because I’d swallowed the Fluoro Track just in time. Of course, he couldn’t find it now!
Still, I was blindsided by his sharpness. I hadn’t expected him to be this perceptive, to notice something hidden so deep under my tongue.
Thankfully, I was quick on my feet. If the Fluoro Track had been exposed, Philip’s razor–sharp eyes would’ve spotted it in a heartbeat!
That would’ve been a dead giveaway.
Philip didn’t bother hiding his intentions. He narrowed his eyes, his lips curling into a smirk that was equal parts curiosity and mockery. “Aurora, are you really this obedient?”
I knew exactly what he was implying, but I feigned ignorance. With a subtle push of my tongue against his finger, I forced him to retreat.
A shadow of doubt flickered in his gaze. I tilted my head, meeting his eyes with a sultry look, my gaze dripping with faux adoration. “Philip, how obedient do you think I am? Would you like to find out?”
His breath hitched, his eyes locked on mine as I gazed back, my face a mask of counterfeit tenderness.
His thumb pressed against my lips. “Aurora, why the sudden change of heart? What schemes are you brewing
in that clever mind of yours?”
His fingers slid down as he spoke, finally catching the edge of my collar.
One more feet, and the icy touch of the g*n would’ve betrayed me.
