Chapter 118 Galian, Let’s Meet
0258 looked at me with a conflicted look, then gently shook her head. “I’m sorry… things were too chaotic at the time, and 0687 only said this much.”
I clenched my jaw, my lips pressed firmly together. Even though I still hadn’t seen my sister, 0258’s words were a profound solace to me.
I hung my sister’s pendant around my neck. Honestly, the pendant seemed like a trinket from a child’s plaything, completely out of place with my overall appearance. But when I placed it against my chest, a wave of tranquility washed over me.
It was as if…
It was as if my sister was snuggled close to my chest, her gentle voice weaving tales of magic and wonder.
I fought back the tears threatening to spill and quietly thanked 0258.
Cyril, sensing my emotions, drew me into his embrace, his sturdy chest a steadfast anchor.
I was on the verge of breaking down. Tears clouded my vision, the world around me dissolving into a watery haze.
The next moment, I heard 0258 say, “Miss, I still don’t know your name.”
I took a deep breath, grounding myself. “You can call me Aurora.”
0258 asked, “Aurora, have you found your mother?”
I wasn’t sure what her intentions were, but I saw no reason to conceal the truth. “Yes, I have,” I replied.
A soft sigh of relief escaped her lips, then she spoke to me solemnly. “Aurora, according to your sister, your mother was also injected with the experimental serum. And all twenty–three of us are in the same situation as her.”
I wasn’t entirely sure where she was going with this. “So?”
“So…” She paused, then continued, “I know you’re a very capable person, and you’d never let your mother suffer. You must be developing an antidote, aren’t you?”
I nodded. “Yes. When the antidote is complete, I’ll ensure every one of you receives it.”
Just for keeping this pendant safe, they deserved it.
But I didn’t expect what came next. After hearing my words, 0258 shook her head slightly. ” ‘t bring this up to ask for the antidote. I just… wanted to tell you that we’re the best test subjects. I’m willing to be your tool for experimentation.”
Her words hit me like a thunderbolt. Her face was set in unwavering determination. “It’s not just me–every one of us is willing. Aurora, you can test freely on me until there are no side effects, then give it to your mother. This is the only way I can think of to repay you.”
My eyes burned with unshed tears, my vision blurring as they threatened to fall.
In that moment, despite their haggard appearance and timid demeanor, they stood taller and braver than I could have ever imagined.

I didn’t refuse them. Instead, I agreed to their request.
After hearing my answer, their expressions brightened, a wave of relief washing over them.
My expression softened as well. I held onto the hope that, just as I had saved them, I could find a flawless way to rescue my sister.
Of course, even though I agreed to their request, I wouldn’t actually treat them as mere test subjects. After all, the best test subject is still locked up in a cage.
Since Philip created this d**g, it was only right that he should bear the responsibility of testing it.
I wouldn’t administer the d**g to these women until it was completely free of side effects.
I agreed to their offer just to give them a sense of purpose.
Only then would those on the brink of collapse avoid giving up on themselves entirely.
This was their lifeline, the spark that kept them going.
After explaining everything, I told them they couldn’t leave just yet, detailing the reasons why.
None of them objected, so I let them stay at Philip’s sprawling estate.
This way, they could vent their anger by tormenting him from time to time.
Philip would live in perpetual torment, never catching a break.
The thought filled me with a deep, satisfying glee.
Then, I combed through every corner of the estate, unearthing a mountain of evidence against the Hodge family. I stashed it carefully, biding my time for the perfect moment to strike.
Once everything was settled, I returned to my home.
Cyril accompanied me the entire way. The moment I stepped inside, I threw myself into his arms.
My emotions surged like a tidal wave, and I broke down, sobbing uncontrollably, clinging to him as if my world was shattering.
Cyril didn’t try to quiet me or tell me to stop crying. Instead, he tenderly wiped my tears, murmuring soft, comforting words in my ear.
After an unknown amount of time, I finally calmed down.
asked him, “Cyril, did the Knightfall Group agree to work with me because of you?”
He didn’t deny it, simply nodding. “Yes, it was because of me. I told you I’d always protect you.”
I didn’t say anything more, just rested my head against his chest, listening to the steady mythm of his
heartbeat.
The room was engulfed in an unsettling silence, and after a while, I suddenly spoke up. “Cyril, I’ve decided to
meet Galian.”
He hummed softly. “Do you need my help?”
“No,” I whispered. “I know him well. In a sense, I see him as a brother.”
Cyril’s movements froze, and just when I thought he might say something, he pulled me closer.

His soft voice whispered in my ear. “Aurora, I promise I’ll never betray you. I’ll always be by your side, treating
you
with the care you deserve, and I’ll never let you down, no matter what.”
I knew he was trying to comfort me, doing everything he could to ease my worries.
I smiled through my tears. “I know, Cyril. I believe you.”
He didn’t say anything else, just held me tighter.
I added, “But Cyril, this time, I want to go alone.”
He paused, then said, “Alright. I’ll watch over you from the shadows. If you’re in trouble, I’ll be there in a
heartbeat.”
I nodded, holding him even tighter. I was desperate to know why Galian, who was once so innocent and bright like the moonlight, would change so drastically. I had to figure it out in addition to rescuing my sister.
I lingered in Cyril’s embrace for what felt like an eternity, until the storm inside me finally subsided. I didn’t let Cyril stay the night; he had too much on his plate, and I didn’t want to keep him longer than necessary. Besides, he needed to smooth things over for me within the Hartman family to ensure I wouldn’t be discovered. Even though I had Philip under my thumb, it didn’t mean I controlled the entire Hodge Group. To keep Philip’s situation under wraps, Cyril would have to pull some strings behind the scenes.
Once he was gone, I picked up the phone and dialed Galian‘ number. The phone rang for what felt like an eternity before it was finally answered. His calm, familiar voice floated through the receiver. “Hello?”
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and spoke softly, “Galian, let’s meet.”
