Chapter 30 Cyril’s Identity
Cyril didn’t delay. He chuckled softly and said, ‘Autora, you may not fully understand me yet.*
I didn’t respond. Choosing to cooperate with him was something I hadn’t thought through much, because time no longer allowed me to hesitate.
Cyril seemed to sense my thoughts and softly continued, “Although I’ve been assisting Cadell under Charles‘ arrangement, helping him manage the entire Hartman family’s business, my job isn’t limited to that.”
He smiled casually. “Aurora, have you heard of Knightfall Group?”
I paused for a moment. I had indeed heard of Knightfall Group.
It was a company that had risen in recent years. More accurately, it was more like an organization.
On the surface, they provided services for those in need of protection. As long as someone paid the fee, they
would offer security for a period of time.
But I knew Knightfall Group wasn’t as simple as it seemed.
Though they appeared to be offering security services, behind the scenes, their business was tied to arms
dealing.
This wasn’t a field that ordinary wealthy families could enter.
Several companies had tried to investigate the true powers behind Knightfall Group, but no one had
succeeded.
The reason was simple. The people behind it were too mysterious, and finding them wasn’t easy.
But from Cyril’s tone… it seemed like he had a close connection to Knightfall Group?
I couldn’t help raising an eyebrow. “Of course, I’ve heard of it.”
Cyril smiled, his tone slightly vague. “I’m somewhat high up in Knightfall Group, enough to have a say in some
matters.”
Hearing this, I couldn’t help but be surprised.
If Cyril really was a high–ranking member of Knightfall Group, then even without cooperating with me, he could still find a way to become the heir to the Hartman family.
Had I accidentally stumbled upon a big shot?
Cyril smiled and said to me, “Charles knows a bit about my background. Although he doesn’t know everything, he doesn’t dare offend me, so he gave me 10% of the family’s shares.”
This made sense. At first, I was a bit confused–if Charles didn’t want Cyril to become the heir, why would he give him shares? Wasn’t he afraid Cyril would cause trouble?
But with this background, I understood that Charles had no choice but to give them.
After all, if he hadn’t, it would probably have caused even bigger problems.
Thinking this over, I couldn’t help but feel a bit amused. Cadell’s situation was even worse than I had
imagined.

Chapter 30 Con’s Identity
This was a huge piece of good news for mel
I couldn’t help feeling a sense of pleasure and looked up at Cyril, asking, “And then?”
Timbet
Cyril took a sip of wine, his tone leisurely. “You exposed Cadell’s affair online, and it caused a huge blow to the Hartman family. As of yesterday, half of the consumers have demanded a refund for True Love Ring, and many have begun organizing protests, demanding compensation from the Hartman family.”
I raised an eyebrow, excitement bubbling inside me. The outcome was even better than I had expected!
I had thought that if a third of the customers requested refunds, that would already be enough. I never imagined the situation was much worse than I had anticipated!
At the start, Cadell had set the price for True Love Ring extremely high in order to earn more profit, but now, facing a massive wave of refunds, he was definitely suffering a huge financial loss!
I said with a hint of sarcasm, “Is that why Charles contacted you? Did he want you to fill the financial gap with money?”
Cyril looked at me approvingly. “You’re right, that’s exactly what he wanted.”
The sarcasm in my eyes became more apparent. The Hartman family was consistently shameless!
When they didn’t need Cyril, they were miserly with the shares, while squeezing out as much value from him
as possible!
Now that they thought Cyril was useful again, they shamelessly approached him, not only denying him the
inheritance title but even asking him to fill their financial hole. How could there be such brazen people in this
world?
I took a moment to calm myself. “So what happened next? Did you give them the money?”
Cyril nodded, still smiling politely, but I could see a cold smirk in his eyes, as if he was proud of having
executed some plan.
“Of course, how could I pass up such a great opportunity? Aurora, you wouldn’t believe it. Charles was so grateful on the phone. He kept calling me his good son and said that once the Hartman family thrived again,
he’d never forget me.”
“But he doesn’t know,” Cyril paused, a glint of malice flashing in his eyes, “how could I be so kind as to give him money? He used my mother to threaten me, forcing me to return to the Hartman family to work for him. What gives him the right to think I would consider him a father?”
“Aurora, I set a huge trap for him. I’ll make some moves, gradually draining the Hartman family’s funds, and then my people will steadily take over until it all becomes mine.”
Cyril smiled at me, his eyes lifting slightly at the corners. “I’ll completely sideline Cadell and turn his inheritance title into a joke. What do you think of this plan?”
I couldn’t help but feel excited, and I smiled. “I love this plan!”
The Hartman family must be feeling pleased now. After all, they had found someone to plug their financial
hole, and they would be able to weather the storm, returning to their old, lavish life.
But they’d forgotten that every bit of unearned fortune that fate brings comes at a cost. One day, they’d pay for their stupidity and greed.

Chapter 30 Cyril’s identity
And Cyril was the price they would have to pay.
I felt an overwhelming thrill, already impatient to see Cadell suffer after losing everything!
Cyril smiled at me, his expression unusually gentle.
He poured me a glass of milk and softly said, “As long as you like it.”
I was momentarily stunned, wondering if I was reading too much into it. I couldn’t shake the feeling that Cyril was doing this to help me get revenge…
After all, with his position in Knightfall Group, taking down a small family like the Hartmans should be no challenge.
Oh well, maybe I was just overthinking it. Cyril and I had a one–night thing, and that was it. We didn’t have much of a relationship. Why would he go this far for me?
Perhaps, he just liked tormenting the Hartman family.
