Chapter 71 She Agreed to Steal Trade Secrets
Her reaction unsettled Cadell, and I could tell his mind wasn’t on me at all.
I knew he was feeling conflicted, but he still tried to soothe me with sweet words “Aurora, you have to believe me. I’ve truly realized my mistakes and I won’t upset you like before. As for what Lorna said… she’s just trying to drive a wedge between us. She doesn’t want us to reconcile. Don’t be fooled by her words!”
I smiled faintly, full of irony “Don’t worry, I can tell the difference”
His insincerity was so obvious that I would’ve been foolish to believe him.
However, Cadell clearly thought I was being honest. He relaxed visibly and said with relief, “I’m glad you
understand my sincerity!”
Apparently deciding to stop brushing me off, he put on a serious expression and said, “No, I can’t stand it any longer! Lorna seduced me once, causing so many problems between us, and now she’s saying these hurtful things again, I won’t let her get away with it!”
With that, he stormed toward the door. “I’m going to teach her a lesson right now, Aurora. I’ll make her
apologize to you!”
I couldn’t help but laugh coldly. Cadell wasn’t upset. He was just eager to pacify Lorna so she wouldn’t get too
angry.
No way was I going to give him that chance.
The deeper the misunderstanding between him and Lorna, the better it was for me.
So I stopped him. “Forget it. I don’t want to bother with her. I’ve finished my design draft–do you want to take
a look?”
Cadell hesitated, clenching his teeth
I raised an eyebrow at him, “Don’t tell me you’re not really trying to stand up for me, but just want to go and
comfort Lorna?”
My words hit home. His face changed instantly. “Of course not! You have to believe me–I’m long over Lorna!”
As if to prove himself, he quickly followed me back to look at the design draft.
I smiled faintly, feeling pleased as I led him back to my office.
The longer he waited to see Lorna, the more suspicious she’d become, eventually falling right into my plan
Although I hadn’t spent much time on the design, my talent and experience ensured that it was far better than anything the Hartman family currently had.
Cadell stared at the draft, clearly captivated. He looked like he wanted to produce the piece immediately to ease the Hartman family’s current struggles.
I walked him through the details, keeping him occupied until late at night before finally letting him go.
When he left my office, he rushed off to find Lorna
But by now, it was far too late.

Chapter 71 9he Agteed to
I glanced down at my phone and saw that Edmund had sent me a photo. A screenshot of his chat with Lorna
In the messages, Lorna confessed her mistakes and begged Edmund for forgiveness.
Edmund, seizing the moment, told her that if she wanted to prove her loyalty, she’d have to steal Hartman family trade secrets. Only then would he believe she’d truly let go of Cadell and consider the possibility of reconciling with her.
Loma was initially hesitant, but after Edmund sent her a few photos of me and Cadell together, her attitude changed completely
In the pictures, Cadell and I were standing very close. He was smiling with satisfaction, and anyone looking at them would certainly think we were involved.
These photos erased any doubts Loma had
She didn’t hesitate long before agreeing to Edmund’s proposal.
I chuckled softly, feeling very satisfied with the outcome.
Those few photos I took with great care really worked!
When I got home, Timmediately saw Cadell’s car parked nearby.
He was such an i***. Even when going to see Lorna, he didn’t bother switching to a car I hadn’t seen before
I glanced at it and didn’t pay much attention.
Come to think of it, Cadell didn’t seem to realize that I had seen this car many times. Perhaps he’d forgotten
that during the best days of our relationship. I’d picked out every single one of his cars.
Even after our relationship cooled off, most of his cars were still sent for maintenance by me.
I recognized all of his cars, though he didn’t know that,
This self–absorbed fool thought he was being so discreet, yet I’d seen through him all along
It was part of why I enjoyed letting him interact more with Lorna. If not, I’d have exposed him a long time ago.
After all, given what had happened earlier today, Cadell still hadn’t gone to see Lorna. It was inevitable they’d
argue.
And I, for one, enjoyed watching that unfold.
Sure enough, just as I anticipated, an hour later I saw the two of them arguing through the window.
I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but judging by their emotions, it was a heated argument.
Finally, Cadell stormed off in his car, leaving Lorna alone by the flowerbed, crying and looking rather pitiful
I snapped a photo of the scene and sent it to Edmund, hinting that he should go comfort her.
Less than half an hour later, Edmund sent his butler to pick her up.
I couldn’t help but smile. Edmund really didn’t bother with pretense
But Lorna clearly didn’t mind.

From the window, I saw her face light up instantly, even revealing a trace of sweetness.
She must think Edmund loves s her n

What an amusing thought
The next morning, as I walked into the office, I ran into a composed looking Loma
She glanced at me and, with a faintly mocking smile, said, “Aurora, don’t celebrate too soon
I smiled back at her. “That’s what I should be saying to you”
I couldn’t wait to see how she’d react once she discovered Edmund and I had been planning this all along
