Chapter 90 Inject Me with a Serum
I was tied up, my hands and feet bound tightly with rough ropes, and a handkerchief stuffed into my mouth, silencing me completely.
I couldn’t make a sound as I was thrown into the trunk of a car.
The trunk was stiflingly hot, and the lingering effects of the drugs in my system kept me in relentless
forment.
But compared to what lay ahead, this was child’s play.
If I could endure this pain for a little longer, I would finally find my sister–a thought that gave me a glimmer
of hope.
The trunk jolted violently, and my legs were probably bruised from the impact, yet I felt no pain.
I could hear Cadell and Charles talking in the car, their words dripping with thinly veiled hints, as if they” wanted me to hear every word.
Cadell chuckled, “Grandpa, since we’re sending her away anyway, why not let me have my way with her first? I’ve been with her for seven years, and I’ve never laid a finger on her!”
A wave of nausea washed over me. Cadell was even more despicable than I’d imagined. After everything that had happened between us, he still wanted to take advantage of me. How revolting!
Charles replied indifferently. “She’s already at your mercy. Do what you want, but don’t leave any marks. We don’t want her value to drop before the sale.”
Cadell’s face twisted into a wicked grin at those words. He glanced back at me, clicking his tongue. “Aurora, you brought this on yourself.”
He deliberately let slip that I was going to be sold, probably hoping to see me break down and beg for mercy gaze with But he was in for a disappointment. I remained expressionless, even when our eyes met. I met his icy disdain.
I didn’t speak, but my message was clear: even being sold was preferable to enduring even a second of his pathetic advances.
Cadell seemed to understand what I was thinking. He snorted coldly and turned away, refusing to look at me
again.
The rest of the journey was rough, the rough, uneven roads making the ride a brutal ordeal. By the time we reached the city, my head was spinning from the constant jostling.
The car pulled into the Hartman family’s old estate, and I was yanked out with brutal force, then thrown into
the basement.
This was my first glimpse of the basement. Id glimpsed it in blurry recordings before, but seeing it with my own eyes ignited a fury within me.
It wasn’t much different from the operations in the countryside, but the people here bore the scars of even greater torment. As I was led through, I saw arms marred by bruises and dotted with needle marks

I lowered my gaze, a fire roaring in my chest, demanding to incinerate all this wickedness. I swallowed my rage as I was shoved into an operating room. Cadell and Charles followed close behind, their eyes locked onto me as if I were a lamb led to the butcher’s block. Their stares made me uneasy, and I instinctively scowled
The gag was yanked from my mouth, and the ropes binding my hands and feet were untied. Cadell loomed over me, his lips curling into a mocking smirk. “Aurora,” he sneered, “if you grovel and get those shares back from Cyril, I might go easy on you.”
My eyes flicked to Charles, who showed no surprise at Cadell’s words. He seemed to be in the loop. Clearly, Cadell and Charles had struck a deal. It wasn’t shocking–Charles had always favored Cadell, grooming him as the family heir. Now that Cadell was falling in line, Charles must’ve been even more satisfied with him. But that was none of my concern. I had no doubt Cyril’s skills were more than enough to deal with this. When I didn’t respond or beg as he’d hoped, Cadell’s face darkened. He glared at me, his voice a venomous hiss. “Aurora, are you still refusing to bow to me?”
I snapped out of my thoughts and met his gaze, a sarcastic smile tugging at my lips. My throat was dry, my voice hoarse, but I didn’t hold back. “Who the hell do you think you are?”
My words cut deep, and Cadell’s expression turned stormy, He turned to Charles, teeth clenched.
“Grandfather, since she’s so stubborn, let’s pump her full of the serum. We can’t have her causing trouble when we ship her off, can we?”
Charles nodded eagerly, his eyes gleaming with cruelty. “Don’t worry. I’ve got plenty of experience breaking hard cases like her.”
Cadell’s face twisted with malicious glee as he stared at me, his voice oozing venom. “Aurora, I wonder how long you’ll keep up this tough act.”
As soon as he finished speaking, four burly men in black stepped forward and pinned me to the bed. Their grip was bone–crushing, like they wanted to snap me in half. At that moment, I had no room to struggle. My mind raced. What kind of serum were they about to pump into me? Would it scramble my brain?
If that were the case, that would be a disaster for me.
I clenched my teeth, my heart racing with fear.
But all my fear melted away the moment the doctor arrived.
His face was hidden by a mask, concealing his features from view, but I could read the emotion in his eyes. He looked at me, his eyes softened ever so slightly, a syringe filled with a transparent liquid in his grasp. Yet, my fear completely disappeared. As soon as he entered, the “Fluoro Track” emitted a faint tremor. It wasn’t a message from anyone–just the automatic response when two “Fluoro Tracks” were near. The tremor was so faint, no one else could detect it.
I felt a surge of relief–I was safe.
Since Cyril had given the “Fluoro Track” to this doctor, it meant he was someone I could trust. The injection he was preparing probably wouldn’t affect me negatively.
Outwardly, I maintained my facade of fear, keeping up the act to fool Cadell.

Chapter 91 I’m Carrying Your Child
Even if I hadn’t known the doctor was Cyril’s man, I wouldn’t have pleaded for mercy. Not a single word After all, I knew all too well the underhanded tactics of the Hartman family. Even if I had begged, Cadell would never have let me go. On the contrary, he’d have reveled in it, his smug satisfaction only growing. So why would I stoop to such stupidity?
I kept my icy gaze steadfast on him, unwavering, even as the cold needle pressed against my skin. Not a single plea escaped my lips. Cadell got nothing from me but silence.
He glared at me, his voice gritted through clenched teeth. “Aurora, have you really thought this through? If you change your mind now, I can still reduce the dose. You have no idea what this is or how terrifying it is! Once this enters your body, you’ll turn into nothing but a slave to s**** desire!”
My fingers twitched slightly, but my expression remained calm. I held his gaze, unyielding. “Cadell, isn’t this exactly what you wanted?”
For a moment, his pupils constricted, and it seemed like he might actually stop this madness. But Charles, the patriarch, frowned deeply “What’s this nonsense? Wasn’t this already decided?”
Cadell hesitated, his lips pressing into a tight line. It wasn’t until the needle plunged into my skin that he finally spoke, his face pale. “Grandfather, Aurora and I… we were together for seven years. I…”
His indecisiveness only enraged Charles. Without hesitation, Charles slapped Cadell hard across the face. The sound echoed in the room, and a vivid red handprint instantly appeared on Cadell’s cheek. He staggered, dazed, as if the blow had left him deaf. For a long moment, he just stared at me, his eyes filled with something complicated.
I could feel the cold liquid spreading through my veins, and as I met his gaze, I couldn’t help but feel like laughing. Was this Cadell’s sudden pang of conscience? Now, of all times, he’s reminiscing about our past? How pitifully late. No wonder Charles slapped him. If I were in his place, I’d have done the same–maybe even
more.
Only after the syringe was completely emptied did Cadell come to his senses. He looked at me, his voice serious. “Aurora, are you really not going to beg for mercy?” As if mercy was ever an option
Fed up with his repeated questions, I sneered, “I’d rather be someone else’s plaything than your woman, Cadell. Just the thought of your pathetic four minutes makes me sick to my stomach.”
Cadell’s face contorted with fury. He inhaled sharply, his eyes ablaze with murderous rage. I heard him grit his teeth as he spat, “Aurora, you’re nothing but a cold–hearted viper. I shouldn’t have shown you any mercy! You brought this on yourself!”
I raised an eyebrow, staying silent. Charles let out a derisive snort. “Now you see? This woman doesn’t care about you at all, Cadell. Remember, women are mere playthings. Their words are meaningless. We can easily replace one woman with another.”
Cadell nodded, his voice cold. Tunderstand, Grandfather. I’ll never show her kindness again.”
Charles looked pleased. “Good. Keep it in mind.”
He then glanced at the doctor. “Give her another dose. She’s pushed my grandson too far–let’s make sure
she’s thoroughly ‘taken care of.”
The doctor didn’t hesitate. He pulled out another syringe and injected the liquid into my veins. Then, in a calm, detached tone, he said, “These two doses will activate the aphrodisiac to the fullest extent. Mr. Hartman, ensure she releases her desire within forty–eight hours, or the product will be compromised”
Charles nodded. “Don’t worry. I just want her to suffer a bit. I know what I’m doing.”
The doctor gave a curt nod and left without another word.
The faint tremor at the base of my tongue vanished, but I remained calm. The doctor’s parting words weren’t meant for Charles–they were a silent message to me. Only I knew the truth: the so-called aphrodisiac was nothing but glucose, a lifeline to keep me strong.
Those two doses of glucose had effectively eased my hunger. At least for now, my body didn’t feel so weak. Whatever came next, I was ready to face it.
Cadell shot me a cold glance. “Grandfather, lock her in a cage and bring her to my room. When she’s desperate and begging for me, I’ll give her what she needs”
Charles didn’t object, but he gave Cadell a commanding look. “Don’t you dare show her any weakness.”
“Don’t worry, Grandfather. I won’t. Cadell’s voice was icy as he glared at me. “A woman like her is beneath my
concern.”
Charles nodded curtly, then casually gestured to one of the guards. “Make sure she doesn’t cause any
trouble.”
The man gave a quick nod.
I was forcefully stuffed into a narrow cage and dragged off to Cadell’s bedroom. He shoved me inside a wardrobe, and I pretended to be disoriented, playing into his sick fantasy. He sneered with a cruel laugh, “Aurora, when we were together, you never let me touch you. And now, look at you–entirely in my hands.” His eyes burned with spite as he jeered, “Don’t worry, Aurora. I’ll take good care of you.”
I ignored him completely, and Cadell quickly lost interest. After his taunt, he slammed the wardrobe door shut, the sound echoing loudly.
The darkness closed in again, the silence deafening, my own breaths echoing in my ears. The cage was cramped and claustrophobic–I couldn’t even sit up straight, left to huddle in an uncomfortable ball. If I had actually been injected with that d**g. I’d probably be tormented by it by now.
I took a deep breath and waited in silence. I knew it was only a matter of time before my backup plan kicked
- in.
Just as I expected, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching, followed by a trembling, desperate voice. “Cadell, give me another chance… I’m carrying your child!”
My heart leaped, It was her!
