Chapter 97 Bizante Past
Chapter 97 Bizarre Past
Cadell seemed completely unprepared for this situation. He never expected me to be so bold–even when I
was clearly at his mercy, I still dared to cause trouble despite my vulnerable position.
Cadell shot me a fierce glare, his eyes glinting with a hint of malice, before turning to Lorna. “You’ve got it all wrong, Lorna. I have no intention of reconciling with her, let alone having an affair with her. Don’t you remember? I told you–she’s lifeless and unresponsive in bed. I have no interest in her.”
If my mouth hadn’t been taped shut, I would’ve called him out on his lies right then and there.
The truth was, Cadell and I had never slept together.
It wasn’t that I didn’t want to–it was because I carried a trauma from a past incident that made me fiercely
resistant to intimacy. Cadell knew this.
He had been the one to save me when I was cornered by a group of drunken men in a dark, empty corner where I felt completely helpless. His embrace in the shadows had felt so safe, so comforting, that I hadn’t resisted. In fact, I’d fallen for him, agreeing to his pursuit and becoming his girlfriend.
But when I woke up in the hospital the next day, a wave of pain and discomfort suddenly overwhelmed me, making even his touch unbearable. I couldn’t bear any type of physical touch–not even when he tried to feed me. It was as if the memory of him carrying me to the hospital the night before had been nothing more than
a dream.
How could I have gone from feeling so safe in his arms to being utterly repulsed by him in just one night? I
couldn’t understand it. Still, under his tender care, with him slowly helping me heal despite my resistance, I
began to open up again.
After I was discharged, I made it clear to him: I couldn’t handle any physical intimacy for the time being. I
asked him to give me space to heal, and Cadell agreed.
But six months into our relationship, Cadell started bringing up s*x more and more frequently. At first, I politely refused each time he brought it up, but’as time went on, his persistence left me feeling numb and
disheartened, as if he cared more about his desires than my feelings.
The final straw came when he forced me onto the bed, drunk and reckless, tearing at my clothes and ignoring
my pleas. In a panic, I grabbed the ashtray from the nightstand and smashed it against his head in a desperate attempt to protect myself, knocking him unconscious.
After that, Cadell never touched me again.
I knew I might have gone too far, so I promised him that once we were married, I would fully commit to him despite my lingering fears.
But who could’ve guessed that Cadell would end up betraying me with someone else, shattering the trust I
had in him?
I quickly pieced together the timeline and realized Cadell must have started seeing Lorna right after I firmly rejected him that one time.
Thankfully, I’ve moved past caring about his actions now, because if I hadn’t, hearing him talk like this would’ve left me heartbroken for a long time.

Chapter 97 Aieatre Past
It was almost uncanny–no matter how much I resisted Cadell, I didn’t feel any of that same resistance when I was around Cyril, as if my subconscious had already accepted him without me even realizing it.
The realization struck me like lightning, leaving me frozen in place, my mind reeling. Cadell must have mistaken my expression for pain because his smirk only grew wider, his eyes glinting with malicious delight.
He didn’t hold back, flinging insults at me. “Lorna, Aurora isn’t even worth a single strand of your hair! You’ve got nothing to worry about!”
His harsh words seemed to convince Lorna, who tilted her head and asked, “Then why are you keeping her
here?”
Cadell’s eyes darkened with malice as he replied without hesitation, “Lorna, didn’t you say that this b***h was the reason we fell apart? So I locked her up and caged her like an animal to make her listen to us reconciling. Isn’t that the worst punishment for her?”
Lorna’s eyes lit up at his words, her initial suspicion fading, replaced by a smug grin. “Oh, I see now… Cadell, I misjudged you. You’ve done well! Aurora deserves every bit of this punishment!”
She crouched down in front of me, her gaze radiating smugness, and deliberately showed off the faint marks on her neck. “Aurora, you were with Cadell for seven years, and he never showed you this kind of affection, did he? You’re hopeless in love. No one will ever want you. If I were you, I’d just leave quietly now, before you
make a bigger fool of yourself.”
She was desperate to see me gone, and honestly, I couldn’t blame her. After all, she’d spun such a web of lies
around Cadell, and if I stuck around, the truth might come out.
Their fragile relationship was hanging by a thread.
I didn’t bother responding, but my eyes gave away a hint of contempt, which was enough to send Lorna into a rage. She glared at me, though when she looked up again, the fire in her eyes dimmed.
She put on a sweet expression and cooed at Cadell, “Cadell, since she’s already had her fair share of punishment, why don’t we just kick her out now? Every time I see her, it puts me in a foul mood.”
Cadell paused for a heartbeat, and Lorna’s brows knitted together in an instant. “Cadell, what’s that look for?
Are you against it?”
Cadell, having just soothed her temper, wasn’t about to stir her anger again. He quickly spoke up, “No, Lorna, you’re missing the point. Aurora knows my family’s secrets. I can’t let her go! If she spills the beans out there,
the Hartman family will be done for!”
Hearing this, Lorna’s eyes sparkled with unrestrained delight. Her eyes gleamed as she turned to Cadell. “So, you’re telling me Aurora’s a full–blown enemy of the Hartman family?”
“That’s right!” Cadell nodded without hesitation.
Lorna’s tongue flicked over her lower lip, a sly grin creeping across her face as she asked Cadell, “In that case, doesn’t that mean I can finally make her pay for what she did to us? Cadell, I’m going to make sure she’s crushed to a pulp!!”
