Chapter 32
I was pacing around in my office, waiting for good news from Jack that he managed to get rid of irene, but it seemed he wasn’t as powerful as my secretary back at the Miller group, as the door opened, and there she was, standing in front of me, looking at her tanned skin. I quickly figured she must have gone on a vacation.
“I’m gone two days, and you don’t look for me?”
asked
in
a calm tone as she placed her handbag on my table.
“I’m working, Irene. What do you want?” I asked as I walked to my seat and sat down, then started looking at the documents Jack placed there earlier.
“My husband, I miss you,” she said, and then came to me; she sat on the desk, exposing her thighs as the skirt she was wearing was short. It used to turn me on years ago, but now I didn’t even find it sexy as I rubbed my eyes in frustration; it was annoying; she was annoying. “Baby?” she touched my beard and then trailed her hands down to my neck in a teasing manner, but none of it worked; my mind was on Patricia.
“Irene, I am working,” I said, but she didn’t stop as her you want, Irene?” I asked again.
went down to my chest, but as it reached my zip, I stopped her and then stood up. “What do
“You, I miss you. I haven’t seen you in two days. You are
all I have,
Logan. You can’t keep avoiding me like this.”
“You are dangerous.”
“I know, that’s why I’m seeing a therapist; in fact, I have an appointment now.”
“Really?” I asked, shocked as I’ve forced her to see a therapist since we got married, but she never gave in. I mean, Irene was mentally unwell because not only did she threaten to kill me, she even strangled me while having sex, claiming that I called her Patricia. Sometimes I didn’t even call her that. I feel like she just sees and hears things. Maybe she was losing her mind–maybe she was crazy and I didn’t know.
“Yes, I want to be a good wife to you; I want us to start our family.”
“What?”
“I went to see a fertility doctor, and he told me there was a way.”
“Really?” I wasn’t really interested. “I mean, you said you didn’t want children. I don’t want to pressure you; it’s totally fine. I love you just the way you are.” I faked a smile and then walked to her, gently caressing her cheeks. I kissed her forehead. I really couldn’t risk her falling pregnant at this time; a baby would complicate my plan to win Patricia.
“I didn’t know what I wanted, and besides, Charlotte has been in my hair lately; she even threatened that if I don’t get pregnant by next year, she will make sure you divorce me.”
“What?” I wasn’t really surprised but just acted, “I hope you didn’t believe her because I would never leave you, Irene; I love you.” I lied.
“I didn’t; now talk to your people to stop stopping me from seeing you because the next time I won’t be too nice, I will blow their heads.” She said, pulling away.
“You have a gun?”
“I am going to get one.”
“No.”
“No?”
“It’s dangerous; we are having a baby, a gun at this time-”
“You’re right, but talk to them. You’re my husband; I should be able to see you whenever I feel like it, okay?”
“Okay.”

Chapter 32
“Good, I’ll see you at home, I’ll order your favorite, show up; otherwise, I will set this place on fire. She threatened, inaking me hodiny headlin wanted her calm for now so she wouldn’t stand in my way of winning Patricia, but once I had her, I would divorce her, and if she tried anything for 1 would not hesitate to have her locked up.
After she left, I exhaled before walking to my seat and rubbing sweat off my forehead.
I took a few minutes to calm down before I picked up the telephone and called for my secretary.
“Come in.”
“Mr. Miller, you called me?”
“Yes, please sit.”
“Sir?”
“I said sit.”
40
“Yes, of course.” She quickly sat down. Gosh, I didn’t know that my employees feared me this much. “We called the other office; your shirt should be here soon.” She sounded nervous, I nodded before I asked who was responsible for Patricia.
“You did give her an office here, right?” I asked as that’s what we always did when we were filming a movie for an important client; mostly we bought rights to the books, then filmed them and sold them to streaming platforms, but there were those important authors who wanted it to go according to them, those authors who had about a billion clicks online, the authors we were sure could get another filming company within seconds if we hesitated.
“Yes, we did. Noella is in charge of her.”
“Good, ask Noella for a copy of her schedule for the week; I want to know where she is at all times.”
“Copy that.”
“Also, I want you to send her fresh flowers tomorrow; I want her to find them in her office, roses specifically.”
“Yes, sir.”
“You can go, and oh, next time Irene shows up, don’t throw her out; just let me know first, okay?”
“Alright, sir. A woman is waiting for you.”
“A woman?”
“She says her name is Victoria.”
“Victoria?”
“Yes, sir, should I?”
“Of course, send her in,” I said and quickly fixed my tie and everything else; what was she doing here?
What did she want?
I couldn’t wait to hear what she wanted, and after a few minutes, she appeared.
“I am not here to waste your time. I heard my niece is back in Miami, and you want her back.”
“What?”
“Oh, cut the act; I know you do, for you to search for her the way you did. Well, I’m a businesswoman, so I’m here to sell what I know.”

Chapter 32
“I know where she’s staying, Victoria, if that’s the information you want to sell me.”
“What? That’s simple; I know better than to sell such cheap information. Let’s just say what I have will help you win her back, but you know nothing is for
free.”
“Fine, tell me.”
“Not until-”
“How much?”
“Ten thousand.”
“Done.”
“Good, Patricia was not my sister’s daughter.”
“Excuse me?”
“She found her on the doorstep, and they decided to raise her.” She said, making me chuckle, I mean, she might be telling the truth, but how was that supposed to win her back? “Now listen, finding Patricia’s parents will win you her trust and maybe her heart. Do you get it?” She raised a brow, making me understand what she meant, and yes, she was right; maybe this could be my redemption, helping her find her real parents.
With that thought, I asked her to have a seat so we could talk more.
