The place they had agreed on was a coffee shop. As Sebastian pushed the door open, the wind chimes jingled once. He walked in and immediately saw Aurora sitting in the corner.

A month without seeing her felt like a year of torment, so much so that now, finally seeing her, Sebastian felt a sense of daze.

She had changed a lot.

When she was by his side, her identity as a secretary meant she most often wore work attire. Even if they played some games at home after work, Aurora always gave him a proper impression.

But now, she was wearing a casual outfit, her hair tied up, revealing her fair and slender neck. It actually made him feel as if he had returned to the past, to the shy Aurora who had a secret crush on him when they first started.

He paused for a few seconds before walking over and greeting her with a smile.

“Aurora, long time no see.”

He restrained his urge to immediately pull her into his arms, gazing at her face with greed and fascination.

“Mm, let’s keep it short. I’m willing to see you just to make things clear between us.”

Aurora wasn’t in the mood for reminiscing. She took a sip of coffee, and just as she was about to continue, Sebastian quickly took over.

“I know what you mean. It was all my fault before; I didn’t recognize my true feelings, which allowed Isabelle to hurt you. Aurora, I’ve only just realized now, I love you, the only person I truly love is you.”

He finished in one breath, his eyes bright, eagerly awaiting Aurora’s response.

In his imagination, Aurora, who loved him so much, would surely forgive him and return to the country with him. But from beginning to end, the woman’s expression didn’t change; she merely twitched the corner of her mouth, completely unfazed.

“Sebastian, it’s too late, whether it’s your apology or your love. If you’re done talking, then I’m leaving. I don’t think there’s any need to talk to

you.”

Sebastian’s face changed. He subconsciously grabbed the woman’s hand, his expression becoming flustered.

“It’s not too late, Aurora, we still have a future. I’ve already punished Isabelle; as long as you come back, I can give you anything. It’s been four years, just because of this one month, you don’t love me anymore? I know you’re just still angry inside. You can hit me or scold me, Aurora, I beg you, please come back, okay?”

Aurora shook off his hand and responded indifferently.

“That’s right, it was this past month that made me see you clearly. I don’t love you anymore, Sebastian, and I won’t go back. I wish Isabelle a long and happy life together.”

you and

As she spoke, she stood up to leave. Sebastian completely didn’t expect such a reaction from her. In his heart, Aurora had always loved him to the bone, how could she suddenly stop loving him!

An unprecedented panic swept over him. When he learned Aurora had left, he comforted himself that she still loved him, but now that he actually saw her, she actually said she didn’t love him anymore!

At this moment, Sebastian felt as if his heart had been cut by a knife; it hurt so much. He tightly gripped Aurora’s hand, unwilling to let usually proud body also trembled, and he lowered his posture, his voice even carrying a pitiful, tearful quality.

His

“Aurora, don’t do this to me. I truly know I was wrong. As long as you’re willing to forgive me, we’ll go back and get married right away. I won’t let you be nameless and statusless anymore. At the company, if you want to continue being a secretary, then continue, if not, you can stay at home and be a wealthy madam. I’ll make money for you. From now on, what’s mine is yours, no matter who appears again, I won’t hurt you. Aurora, please, forgive me this one time. We’ve been together for so long, you can’t just abandon me because I made one mistake, Aurora.*

If it were before, Aurora would have been very happy to hear such words. This was the man she had loved for eight whole years, and they were finally going to achieve a positive outcome. But now, because of Isabelle, her heart was already dead. Those eight years of feelings no longer existed. Those past memories would only make her hate herself for being blind and wasting so much time on Sebastian.

She took a deep breath and firmly pried Sebastian’s hand open.

“Sebastian, I’ve made it very clear, we have no future. Isn’t what I’m doing now exactly what you wanted? Back then, I said that as long as the person you love returned, I would automatically leave. When Isabelle came back, I even hoped that you might have developed feelings for me and would let go of Isabelle for my sake, but facts have proven that I was wrong.”

Looking at her expression, Sebastian felt like he was about to lose her.

He kept shaking his head, crying in front of others for the first time, almost pleading as he reached out to pull her.

“Aurora, I was really wrong, give me a chance to make amends, Aurora… Aurora!”

But Aurora didn’t look back, she just left and disappeared from his sight.
