“Hey, you’re going to be playing on stage in a few minutes. Feeling nervous?”
I shook my head slightly, a small smile touching my lips. “Not nervous,”
He chuckled softly. “Elizabeth, you’re incredibly brave. Someone who belongs on stage.”
His words were kind, meant to reassure, but they stirred something deep within me.
I laughed softly, but the sound was hollow.
“I wasn’t always like this, you know. I used to be shy, easily frightened, always anxious. It took a lot of experience to get to where I am tour.”
As I spoke, my mind drifted back to the past, to the days when I had pushed myself so hard, all in the name of love.
I had wanted to be perfect for Leo, to be someone worthy of his attention and admiration.
I had spent hours honing my skills, learning the art of diplomacy, practicing my manners and dancing, all to meet the expectations of the Silvermoon Pack.
I used to be naive, naive enough to think that if I worked hard enough, I could keep our relationship going.
But now that I think about it, I was the only one who was struggling for that.
Nowadays, I don’t want to give everything I have for someone who has only caused me hurt and pain.
Now that I have a lot of people who love me and a thriving business, I should be putting my energy and love into them.
Rolin noticed the change in my expression, his eyes softening with concern.
“Elizabeth, are you okay?”
I raised a smile, “It’s okay, I’m going to get ready to go on stage in a few minutes when the speaker finishes.”
With that said, I turned my attention back to the stage.
That’s when I saw him.
Leo.
He stood on the opposite side of the room, dressed impeccably in a tailored suit that emphasized his broad shoulders.
His dark hair was neatly styled, his face clean–shaven, and he looked every bit the Alpha of the Silvermoon Pack
The room seemed to pause, all eyes turning toward him as he made his way to the stage.
He was a commanding presence, his mere appearance drawing the attention of everyone in the room.
Especially the women, who couldn’t seem to take their eyes off him.
I stiffened in my seat, my heart pounding in my chest.
He looked devastatingly handsome, but it was the expression on his face that caught me off guard.
His eyes searched the crowd, and when they found me, they softened with a mixture of affection and regret.
The apology in his gaze was unmistakable, and it made my heart clench painfully.
I couldn’t bear it, I turned my face away, refusing to meet his gaze.
On the stage, Leo took the microphone, his deep voice filling the room as he spoke on behalf of the werewolves.
His words were powerful, his presence commanding, but I couldn’t focus on what he was saying.

My mind was a whirlwind of emotions, memories of our time together clashing with the reality of where we stood now,
When his speech ended, the crowd applauded, but I barely heard it.
All I could think about was how much I wanted to get away, to escape the suffocating weight of his presence.
I stood, ready to leave, but something made me pause.
A spark of defiance, a désire to face him on my terms.
I walked toward Leo, my steps measured, my expression unreadable.
I could see the surprise on his face as I approached, but I didn’t give him a chance to speak.
Reaching into my bag, I pulled out a small, elegant card.
“There is 120 million in this card,” I said, my voice steady. “The password is your birthday. This is everything you once gave me. Now it’s all returned to
you.”
Leo’s eyes narrowed, his jaw tightening. “What I gave you, I will never take back.”
The words cut deeper than I expected, and I struggled to keep my voice steady.
“The day I was ready to divorce you, you thought I couldn’t stand without you. Now, I’m going to give you back everything you gave me. I don’t owe you anything anymore.”
For a moment, the silence between us was overwhelming.
Leo’s face softened, and he took a step closer, his voice low and filled with regret.
“Elizabeth, that was a misunderstanding. I was wrong. I thought… I thought you and Rolin…”
“You think I’m with Rolin?” The mockery in my voice was obvious.
Leo frowned, as if my words had hit him.
He ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident in his movements.
“I was wrong, Elizabeth. I let my jealousy cloud my judgment. I didn’t understand the relationship you had with Rolin, and I reacted out of fear of losing you.”
