Chapter 118
The crowd gasped as he emerged from the water, holding the diamond ring high above his head.
The sunlight hit the stone, making it glisten with a blinding brilliance.
It was almost too much to look at, like something out of a dream.
“Why?” I managed to ask, my voice thick with emotion as he swam back to shore. “Why would you do that? You knew i wouldn’t accept it.”
Leo climbed out of the water, his clothes clinging to him, water streaming from his hair and body.
He approached me, the diamond ring held out in his hand, his eyes softening as they met mine.
“Because,” he said quietly, “I made a promise to you. I said that you were the only Luna for me, and I meant it. This ring belongs to you, even if you’re not ready to accept it now.”
His words hit me like a wave, and for a moment, I couldn’t speak.
Tears welled up in my eyes, and I looked away, not wanting him to see how much his gesture had affected me.
But he reached out, gently lifting my chin so I had to meet his gaze.
“I didn’t do this to pressure you,” he continued, his voice soft but steady. “I did it to show you that I’m serious. I’ll wait for you,
Elizabeth. However long it takes.”
I reached out and took this meaningful ring from him and said with mixed emotions.
“This ring is being hosted with me for now, but it doesn’t mean anything more than that. If you back out, you can always ask
for it from me.‘
Leo nodded, his smile small but genuine. “I’ll never go back on my word.”
For a moment, we just stood there, the tension between us melting away into something softer, something that felt like hope.
Then, as if the spell had broken, the crowd began to clap and cheer.

The rest of the day passed in a blur.
Leo changed into dry clothes and drove me back to the villa where I was staying.
