Chapter Thirty
Rose
I sit anxiously, waiting for Jayce to come back. I have no idea what his rules could be and hope they aren’t outrageous. I take a sip of my wine and see him coming back through with a sheet of paper in his hand. He hands it to me the moment he retakes his seat.
“Please read carefully. If there is something you disagree with, tell me.” The firmness is back in hist
voice.
“Yes, Sir.” I focus on the list.
Rule One: Sleepovers three nights a week
“Why such a specific number? And is it set days?”
“Because I am a very busy man. There are some mornings I leave at six for my day job and then need to s to the club. I don’t get home until the early hours of the next morning. All sleepovers will be here at mine. The nights won’t always be the same. I will tell you what nights you will be spending
with me.”
Jayce seems to have gone into Mr. serious mode. There is no emotion on his face or in his eyes.
“And what happens if I have already made plans for those nights with Remi or my family?” I am sorry, but I am not always working my life around his schedule.
“You cancel them.” He says it like it is the most casual thing in the world.
“No. I am sorry. If I have made plans already, I will not cancel them all the time for you.” I sit up straight, not breaking eye contact with him. I am standing my ground on this one. Jayce raises his brow and crosses his arms over his chest.
“No! I need to know in advance which nights I have to stay over,” 1 huff.
He stares at me intensely and runs his fingers through his hair. I am not backing down on this one.
Jayce lets out a loud sigh. “Fine. I will make sure to let you know a week in advance of our plans.”
I can’t help but smile brightly at him and feel a little smug. “Thank you.”
“I want to see you most days, even if you aren’t staying over.”
“How are we going to do that with work? You said it yourself, you are a busy man and I am a busy woman.” I am not asking these questions to be an asshole. I just need to know what is happening.

Breakfast, lunch breaks or sinners, I sometimes have a couple of hours free between thinking the office and starting at the club,” he replies.
“Okay. It sounds simple enough. I move down to the second rule.
Rule Two: Date night at least once a week.
I didn’t think he would be the dating type. “Date night? Do you mean like we go out or have our date here?” I guess it depends if he wants people to see us together.
“Yes. I mean, we go out. For dinner and maybe a show or something, it depends what’s on, on the night.” He smiles.
I smile brightly at him. “I’d like that.” I have only ever been on two dates in my entire life. They
were a disaster.
“Good, because this won’t be purely sexual, pretty eyes.”
I nod and move on to the next ones.
Rule Three: Eat three meals a day and keep hydrated.
Rule Four: No overindulging in alcohol when we have plans.
I don’t discuss them because they have already been spoken about.
Rule Five: I ALWAYS PAY.
Oh, he must be deadly serious with this one.
I put my focus on him. “What do you mean by always?” I am sorry, but I have more than enough money. I don’t need or want him to pay for everything.
“I mean, I always pay. For meals, dates, dinners. I will also pay for anything else you need, like clothes, a new laptop if you need one, or a car if something happens to yours. Anything.”
“What if I want to pay for dinner? And I buy my own clothes, thank you.”
“It is non–negotiable, Rose,” he states firmly.
“But-”
“But nothing!”
I groan and roll my eyes.

“Drop the attitude,” he warns
God, I want so badly to tell him no, but now is not the time. I sigh and move on to the next one.
Rule Six: No dating, flirting or fucking other men.
I wouldn’t do that anyway, Jayce is going to be a handful, and I am not the type to do that, but I do have a question for him.
“Does that rule also apply to you when it comes to other women? Because I refuse to be someone’s second choice.” Annoyance can be heard in my tone. I don’t know how all of this works, but I refuse to get into this if he is allowed to be with other women.
“Yes, it applies to me also.”
“Good!” I reply sternly.
Jayce chuckles. “Showing jealousy already, pretty eyes.”
I wave him off. “Oh, hush.”
Jayce rest on the back of his seat and folds his arms over his chest. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me. Now, shh, I need to finish reading.” I giggle and waggle my finger at him.
He leans forward and grips the table. I bite my lip to stop from smirking. He said he couldn’t do anything to me again until I agreed to everything, so I will take advantage of my chance to get under
his skin while I can.
“Miss Rose, you are lucky you aren’t officially mine yet because you sure as hell wouldn’t be getting away with your cheek and attitude. I’d spank and fuck them right out of you.”
I know it is a threat, but I squeeze my thighs together under the table because the idea arouses me.
“What a shame,” I say sweetly and flash an innocent smile at him.
Jayce groans. “I will make you regret that, pretty eyes.”
I smirk, adding as much sass as I can, and reply, “I look forward to it.”
“I knew you were going to be trouble for me, Miss Rose.”
“Right back at you, handsome” I divert my eyes back to the rules.
