Xyliana knew she could no longer be as carefree as before. Holding back her tears, she looked at Rosalie and said, “Rosalie, I’m sorry. Today is your first day back, and we should have been celebrating you, but I ruined it. I’m really sorry.”
Even though Rosalie felt somewhat down inside, she politely responded to Xyliana’s apology, saying, “Don’t mention it. I can understand how you feel.”
At this moment, Rosalie felt like an outsider, but soon she would gradually become part of the family. On the other hand, Xyliana now felt like a family member but would slowly start to feel distant. Essentially, their feelings were similar. So, Rosalie held no hostility towards Xyliana.
Xyliana was a bit surprised too. Despite Rosalie seeming like an ordinary kid, her demeanor was graceful and composed, matching Xyliana’s own. In
contrast, Xyliana’s emotions seemed a bit unstable.
Taking a deep breath, Xyliana turned to Zachary and Roxanne and apologized, “Mom, Dad, I’m sorry for making you worry.”
“There’s no need to apologize. It’s our responsibility that you had to go through such a major change. Just try not to think about it for now and enjoy your meal,” Zachary said with affection as he comforted Xyliana.
Roxanne looked at Sophia and said, “Sophia, make sure to eat more. Since you’re finally here, let your parents know you’ll stay over tonight to keep
Xyliana company.”
Roxanne deemed that Xyliana’s mood probably wasn’t great tonight, and since Sophia grew up with her, staying might help them talk things through.
“Sure, Roxanne, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of Xyliana,” Sophia replied, suppressing her surprise and agreeing immediately. It was juice news, so she naturally wanted to stay and find out what was going on.

So, everyone sat down to eat together. However, the earlier mood couldn’t be regained, and the Yoder family felt a bit awkward throughout the meal.
Xyliana had a feeling that her being there was making everyone uneasy, so after a few bites, she said, “Dad, Mom, I’m full.”
Seeing that Xyliana was upset, Sophia quickly stood up too, saying, “I’ve had enough too. Xyliana, let me go upstairs with you.”
“Alright.” Xyliana nodded, forcing a smile as she left the dining room with Sophia.
Watching Xyliana’s sad demeanor, Roxanne felt a knot in her stomach. But when she glanced at the always–quiet Rosalie, she knew Rosalie was also
upset.
Roxanne quickly forced a smile and reassured her, “Rosalie, I’m sorry about today. We planned to properly celebrate your return, but things didn’t go as expected. Once Xyliana feels better, do you think we could celebrate again? How about that?”
“It’s okay. I don’t think there’s any need to fuss over it. It’s not a big deal.” Rosalie understood her parents‘ intentions but didn’t want to fuss over it at this moment. Besides, she didn’t enjoy busy gatherings and had a lot to handle recently.
Hearing Rosalie’s words, Roxanne frowned and disagreed, “How can it not be a big deal? You coming home is the most important thing. I will remember this dinner and will make it up to you next time.”
Seeing her parents‘ firm attitude, Rosalie decided not to argue. As long as they felt good, she was fine with it. “Alright, I’m full too; I’ll head back to my
room.”
“Okay, go ahead,” Roxanne smiled gently.
Seeing Rosalie get up, Zaki also set down his coffee cup and said, “Mom, Dad, I’m going upstairs too. Enjoy your meal.”
Zachary knew Zaki was thoughtful, so he nodded in agreement. Zaki exchanged a glance with his father, gave a slight nod, and then followed Rosalie upstairs.
As they walked, Zaki reassured Rosalie, “Before I could tell you about Xyliana’s identity upstairs, the maid called us for dinner. It wasn’t intentional to hide it from you; I didn’t expect her to return today.”

Rosalie knew Zaki wasn’t the type to keep things from her, so she smiled a little and said, “It’s okay, I don’t mind. She seems to need comforting more
than I do.”
Zaki looked ahead and said, “Xyliana wears her heart on her sleeve, but I’m more worried about you. She can talk to Sophia, but you’ve just come back to this family, and you might not have anyone to talk to. If you ever feel upset, you can talk to me.”
Zaki, with his tough–guy vibe, surprisingly showed a rare moment of tenderness.
Rosalie knew he wasn’t usually one to comfort girls, which made her feel even more at ease. She replied sincerely, “Alright, if I’m ever upset, I’ll talk to you, Zaki,”
Rosalie’s words made his eyes light up slightly, a subtle change. “Okay,” he replied.
They said no more and quietly went back to their rooms, understanding each other without words. Rosalie thought she could finally have some time to herself, but to her surprise, as soon as she opened the door, she saw countless shopping bags waiting for her.
There were even dozens of limited–edition jewelry pieces laid out on the desk. The room was filled with clothes hanging everywhere, with coat racks on both sides holding seven or eight racks each–all waiting for her to choose from.
The only space left in the middle was occupied by shoes and bags, all neatly set out by the staff for her viewing. The room looked like a mini showroom.
“So many things… when will I ever get through all this?” Rosalie couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on as she rubbed her forehead. She sighed and went over to the only clear spot–the coffee table–to pour herself a glass of water, hoping to calm her nerves.
She glanced at the jewelry box absentmindedly. Her eyebrows furrowed immediately. She felt the logo look familiar.
Suddenly, Rosalie felt a sense of foreboding. After taking a sip of water, she quickly put down the glass and carefully inspected the jewelry on the table. With just one look, she confirmed her suspicion. As expected, these were her own jewelry designs.
Turning back to the clothes, although they were unpackaged, each piece looked so familiar. Almost all of them were her own designs. However these were old collections, which was why she didn’t recognize them at first glance.
She frowned, ‘But how does these things end up here?‘ At that moment, she remembered what Zell had said. A super–rich person had cleared out her inventory today. ‘Could it be… the rich person Zell mentioned is someone from the Yoder family? It can’t be such a coincidence!‘
