Chapter 16
“If you like, I’ll do it for you often.” Roxanne gently stroked Rosalie’s hair, her eyes filled with love.
Zachary put down his fork too, his eyes slightly red as he looked at Rosalie, his face showing the same concern.
“Rosalie, after we finish eating, I’ll go to school with you to sort out your transfer. I’ve already found the best school for you in Janivelle, so you won’t have to go so far anymore,” Zachary told Rosalie.
Hearing this, Rosalie looked at Zachary and said, “No need. I rarely go to school now; I’m already doing an internship outside.”
Zachary was a bit taken aback by Rosalie’s news. “Internship? Aren’t you the same age as Xyliana?” he asked.

Xyliana had jumped into her internship early because she zipped through her college courses, skipping grades. But for a kid from a regular family, at this age, they were usually still in school.
Roxanne was just as surprised as she looked at Rosalie. “Rosalie, have you started interning early too?” she asked.
Seeing their strong reactions, Rosalie raised an eyebrow. “Also? Is there someone else in the family who’s interning early like me?” she questioned.
Roxanne and Zachary exchanged a glance before Roxanne spoke up. “Yes, we got a tutor for Xyliana when she was little. She finished college early, skipped grades, and started college young.
“Even though she hasn’t graduated yet, she’s been interning for a year now, running the small company your dad gave her.”
Rosalie was a bit surprised to hear Xyliana was interning too. But it made sense. Kids from rich families often start school early with tutors, so it wasn’t a big deal. Her early internship, coming from a regular family, seemed a bit out of the ordinary.
Thinking about it, Rosalie kept her cool and said, “Oh, I see. Well, I just happened to finish my school courses early. Luckily, a friend of my teacher started a studio, and my teacher recommended me there. That’s how I got the internship.
“The place I work isn’t as fancy as Xyliana’s.” Rosalie made up a story, hoping to keep the spotlight off herself.
After hearing Rosalie’s story, Zachary’s confusion turned into a proud smile. “So it was a teacher’s recommendation. It sounds like you are quite exceptional.”
Even without tutors or the same advantages, Rosalie managed to finish her courses just like Xyliana.
“I never expected you to be so amazing! Not only are you smarter than kids your age, but you are also well–liked by your teachers. I’m really proud of you!” Roxanne beamed.
Zaki chimed in, “It seems like your grades must be great, and you are very capable. It’s a waste for you to just be working in a small studio. How about giving you a chance to manage a company?”
“What?!” Rosalie looked at Zaki, surprised.
“Hmm… I think Zaki’s suggestion is good. We have plenty of companies in the family. Take a look at which industry you like, and let your dad arrange a position for you so you can learn about managing a company,” Roxanne agreed.
Rosalie didn’t want to stand out, so she said she was working in a small studio.
She didn’t expect that after settling her parents‘ doubts, Roxanne would suddenly offer her a company to work at, making Rosalie feel instantly overwhelmed. “No need, I think this studio is quite good for now,” Rosalie said, gently trying to decline.
She hasn’t yet pulled out her investments from the Moreno family. There was still a lot she needs to design, and the studio has to keep running. She was
really quite busy.
“You’re just starting your internship, so you might not know much about things outside,” Roxanne patiently explained to Rosalie. “It’s a small studio,

after all. Even if the boss appreciates you, it’s still different from a company. In a company, you can gain better experience and training”
Seeing the hopeful look on Roxanne’s face, Rosalie found it hard to refuse her mom’s suggestion. With a resigned smile, she said, “Alright, I guess I’m somewhat good at design.”
Actually, Rosalie was skilled in IT, finance, medicine, and much more. But she didn’t want to intimidate them, so she chose a hobby that took the least energy
This way, when she was designing for her brand, she could easily create a few drafts on the side. Unlike Xyliana, she wasn’t keen on a nine–to–five job.
Zachary thought for a moment when he heard Rosalie talk about her talent in design, and then he said, “In that case, I’ll have the driver take you to our family’s design companies. Check them out and pick the one you like.”
“Sure,” Rosalie agreed with a calm demeanor outwardly. Inwardly, she was amazed at her family’s influence. Let her choose any company to manage. That was something completely next–level.
“Rosalie, since your work plans are set, make sure to come home early after you’re done today,” Roxanne said with a gentle smile.
“Okay,” Rosalie replied.
Sophia left Skyline Castle feeling furious. Looking at the calm Xyliana, she finally couldn’t hold it in and asked, “Xyliana, if I hadn’t stopped you just now, would you really have given your position to that wild girl?”
“I’ve been the heiress of the Yoder family for ages, it’s only right to pass it on to her,” Xyliana said, cool as a cucumber.
Sophia couldn’t take it. She didn’t know why Xyliana just rolled over like that. Rosalie was new to the family, and they’d been here all their lives. Dealing with her shouldn’t be a big deal, she bet.
“So, you’re just gonna give up?” Sophia said, her voice full of disbelief. “You’re just as much a part of this family as Rosalie. Roxanne and Zachary said you’re still the heiress, same as always.
You don’t owe Rosalie anything. Just be you, like she was never here.” Sophia was dead set on keeping Xyliana at Skyline Castle, worried Xyliana might do something crazy.
“Can things really go back to how they were?” Xyliana wondered, her eyes looking a bit lost.
“Sure thing. You keep living your life, and don’t give up what’s yours. If you keep backing down to Rosalie, she might end up with your engagement.” Sophia played her cards right, using marriage as a trump card.
Sophia knew Xyliana had a thing for Quinton from the Bronson family, a crush that had been going on for a while. She reminded Xyliana that she wouldn’t just walk away from the Yoder family, not when it meant giving up on Quinton.
If Xyliana left, she’d lose her spot as an heiress and any chance of being with Quinton. She’d miss out on all the perks of staying too.
Sophia’s words hit home, and Xyliana’s eyes lit up with realization–she’d almost forgotten about that. “You’re right, some things are forgivable, but some… not!” Xyliana’s gaze hardened. She could let Rosalie have everything, except her plans for engagement.
