Glenn pondered, Judging by her looks, she seems to be around Xyliana’s age. How could she be the well–known Dr. Tyler I have specifically asked for? Maybe Dr. Tyler is too swamped to come and sent her trainee instead. But sending such a young trainee seemed pretty disrespectful.’
Feeling a bit miffed, Glenn still politely asked, “Are you Dr. Tyler’s apprentice?”
Rosalie knew that at her age, even if she said she was Ruby, they might not buy it. So she just rolled with Glenn’s idea and replied, “Kind of.”
Hearing “apprentice,” Quinton’s expression clouded over. He’d heard of a mysterious genius doctor who nailed tough cases lately. At first, he reached out to them but then decided to choose the best doctors from his own network.
Quinton didn’t expect that Glenn would still call in Ruby. But he deemed Ruby was too much as she didn’t show up herself and sent some young girl to handle things.
Quinton couldn’t help but sneer. “She’s got some nerve. My grandfather invited her, and she just sent some random girl to check up on him?”
Dylan, standing by, couldn’t stomach it either, and said, “Yeah, isn’t this just ridiculous?”
Facing the doubts, Rosalie stayed cool. “I’ll first check the old gentleman. If I can’t figure out the issue, it won’t be too late to call my teacher.”
Hearing Rosalie speak with such confidence, a flicker of admiration flashed in Glenn’s eyes. “Not bad, you’re young but brave. Give it a shot. If you can diagnose my condition, I’ll let you treat me.”
“Grandpa,” Quinton frowned, thinking the old man was being reckless.
“It’s fine, girl, come over here and check on me.” Glenn chuckled, waving Rosalie over.
Rosalie wasn’t shy at all and went straight to the chair by the bed.
Dylan kept eyeballing Rosalie, sure this young girl was a fake. After all, everyone had heard of Ruby, but no one ever heard of her taking on students. If she did, Dylan might have even signed up himself.
Feeling more uneasy, Dylan sidled up to Quinton and said, “Mr. Bronson, I’ve never heard of Dr. Tyler having a student. This girl might be a fraud.”
Quinton had heard of many people posing as students of great doctors to scam others. He also thought that Rosalie claiming to be one was probably a fake.
Just as Rosalie was about to check on Glenn, Quinton suddenly stopped her and said to Glenn, “Grandpa, if you’re just trying to avoid the treatment, there’s no need to act. This young girl doesn’t look like a pro, so you’d better let Dylan examine you today without stalling any longer.”
Quinton was always busy. If it weren’t for Glenn, he wouldn’t have any reason to waste time there.
“What do you mean ‘act‘? You think I paid this girl to come here?” Glenn shot back, looking completely incredulous.
“Isn’t that the case?” Quinton asked, giving Glenn a determined look.
Seeing Quinton mistake her for a hired actor, Rosalie replied directly, “You’ve got quite the imagination, but I didn’t come all this way to put on a show with anyone.”
She was telling the truth. The Bronson residence and Skyline Castle were really at opposite ends, and it took her quite some time to get there.
“Go on, how much did my grandpa pay you?” Quinton asked, looking at Rosalie with a gaze full of certainty, as if he had figured everything out.
It was the first time Rosalie had disliked someone so much, and even though she guessed Quinton was the grandson of her employer, she retorted, “Sir, not everyone practices medicine just for money, especially not my teacher. Even if you have money, it doesn’t mean she will work for you.”
It was the first time Quinton had been talked back to by a young girl in such a manner. Even the butler on the side was sweating nervously. Quinton

hated being contradicted.
As expected, Quinton’s aura turned cold as he spoke more bluntly, “You speak so righteously, but isn’t practicing medicine all about making money?”
Quinton had long seen the coldest side of human nature; to him, everything was driven by self–interest.
Rosalie just scoffed, “Yeah, it’s all about the money. But your buddies have a lot to say, don’t they? The meds for your grandpa must be costing a
fortune!”
Rosalie wasn’t trying to call anyone out, but ever since she walked in, Dylan had been giving her the stink–eye, even talking trash about her. They weren’t even acquainted, and he was already acting hostile, probably worried she’d steal his patients.
Caught red–handed, Dylan’s face flushed as he shot back at Rosalie, “What are you implying? I haven’t done anything to you, have !?”
He’d just been talking smack about her to Quinton and now he was playing dumb. Rosalie wasn’t in the mood to deal with such petty attitudes and turned to Glenn. “Sir, do you still want this consultation? If not, we can call it off, but the deposit is non–refundable.”
Glenn saw Rosalie standing there bravely, with a determined look on her face, and couldn’t help but laugh. “Sure, I’m game. I want to see what you can do with your medical skills.”
Glenn thought that since Ruby vouched for Rosalie, maybe Rosalie’s skills were as impressive as rumored.
It took a while to get Glenn on board because Ruby was known to be picky–many wealthy folks had tried to get her attention, but she often turned them
down.
Glenn was afraid that if he let this chance slip, it might be tough to get Ruby to check in again.
Quinton saw his grandpa allowing this unknown girl to do the check–up, and his expression got even colder. “Grandpa, she’s just a kid. You can’t trust her just because she says she’s an apprentice of some known doctor.”
Glenn was clearly ticked off. “What do you know? You didn’t even know about my invite to Dr. Tyler. Do you think this young girl would know if Dr. Tyler hadn’t sent her? Just back off and mind your own business.”
Quinton saw that his grandpa’s mind was set, and his brows furrowed in frustration. Even though he wasn’t thrilled, his hands were tied. Since Glenn was set on giving it a shot, all Quinton could do was sit tight and watch Rosalie as she examined him.
