His gaze filled with remorse. “Just to talk, Lia. I swear.”

“I’m sorry,” he cried, eyebrows furrowing. “I have made a million mistakes in the last few days. I know that. But I swear by the Goddess, you’re everything to me, Lia. I… I can see that you’ve—you’ve made a choice already, you’ve made up your mind, about who you want to be with. But please, Lia, at least let us be friends.” His voice broke at the end, and a couple of tears left his eyes.
I felt no pity for him.
“The audacity,” Sheila said through gritted teeth.
“I don’t want anything to do with you, Blake. After what your did, I lost all respect I had for you,” I stated. “It’s in your best interest to forget about me.”
“Forget about you?” Blake scoffed, wiping away his tears. “Lia, you’re–” he stepped towards me, only for Zane to growl and step between us. He grabbed Blake’s collar.
