Chapter 55: Pregnancy Test

My emotions are all over the place on the way to the pack hospital. First, I can feel Roman’s excitement about me possibly being pregnant with his pup. I love how protective he already is and he doesn’t even know if I’m pregnant
And I’m excited too. The idea of having Roman’s pup makes me very happy. But the timing couldn’t be worse. We’ve just
killed Sawyer and Althea, taken on their pups as our own, one of which is a newborn, we have a pack of people that need assurance that they are safe, and we still have an Alpha and his pack that we need to deal with. And now, I might be pregnant.
Roman stops, turning me to face him. “We will get through it all, Samara and we’ll do it together. You’re not alone anymore.
I’m not going anywhere. I’m excited to start our life together. Could things be a bit easier? Yes. But you and I have been
working towards the goal of avenging your family for nine years. I’m not sure what you expected to happen after you killed Sawyer, but I’ve known that there would be clean–up. I expected backlash and I’m surprised and thankful that we haven’t had any. But I want a life with you, my mate. I want to see your belly get large with my pup. I want to hear his or her heartbeat! want them to know my voice before they are born. I want this, so much. I hope you do as well,” he says.
“I do I really do,” I say, blushing a little. “I love the idea that I might be carrying your pup. But it also means that it will be more work for you. I’ll become more limited in how I can help you and if you become as overbearing as you think you will !

“Probably not,” he says, leaning in to kiss me. The kiss deepens and he pulls me against him, taking his time as he opens his
heart and mind and lets his emotions flow between us.
When he pulls back, he kisses my nose. “If you’re pregnant, we’ll have a reason to celebrate tonight,” he says, grinning.
“And if I’m not?”
“Then we’ll just have to keep trying until you are,” he growls, making me laugh.
“So, either way we’re celebrating tonight?”
he pups are asleep and the door is locked, I’m going to finish what I started this morning”

He takes my hand and we make our way to the pack hospital. When we tell the front desk nurse what we want, she gives me
a cup and tells me to pee in it before putting us in a room to wait for the doctor.
When he walks in, I recognize him immediately.
“Hi, Dr. Nelson,” I say. He was the doctor here when I left. I didn’t know if he survived the attack, but I’m glad that he did.
“Little Samara Brenner. I can’t believe that I helped deliver you eighteen years ago and now here you are, finding out if you’re
pregnant with your own pup”
“I’m not so little anymore, Dr. Nelson,” I say, smiling at him.
“No, you’re all grown up now, aren’t you?”
I nod, reaching out to Roman who takes my hand
“Well, you are most definitely pregnant,” he says, and it feels like all the air in the room just got sucked out 1 can confirm with a blood test, but I’m not sure it’s necessary

Pierce begins purring loud enough that the legs of the table I’m sitting on begin to

I feel her on the verge of saying yes, but she stops. “I don’t think so,” she says, making Pierce purr even louder

I look at Roman. “It was a few days before we came here, right? You’ve been training Ayla as hard as you were training me
Roman looks thoughtful for a moment. “Yes, three days, then we traveled a day, then yesterday, so it’s been about six days
since you shifted.”
“White wolves are stronger than most Alphas and Alpha wolves can usually shift a few days longer than warriors or omegas, so I would guess that you are about two to three weeks along in your pregnancy. If my timing is right, we may be able to see your pup now. Would you like me to do an ultrasound?”

“That depends on how far along Luna Samara and Ayla are, but if we can’t see today, I’d say in a week you’ll know if you’re

“Our pregnancies are five months, right Dr. Nelson? I ask. If I’m two to three weeks along already, that means I’ll start showing soon and…. holy mother Moon Goddess, I could be holding my pup in four short months.
1 feel Roman press his lips to the side of my head. “I’m not going anywhere”
“Yes. Werewolf gestations are five months. I’ll go get the ultrasound machine. If you would put on this gown while I step out.
that will make it a bit easier,” Dr. Nelson says before stepping out of the room
“Why am I freaking out?” I ask Roman. He’s not freaking out. He’s thrilled. Pierce is thrilled. Ayla is thrilled. So, why am I freaking out?
“A lot has happened in a very short amount of time, Samara. I’m sure the idea of all the changes that you will go through is a
bit scary as well. I know it feels overwhelming but like I said before, you’re not alone anymore. I will be here for you every
step of the way.”
I can feel him trying to stifle his excitement because of my nervousness. That’s not fair to him. I want him to be excited. I’m
glad he is.

When Roman smiles at me, I realize Ayla opened the mind link to him and Pierce as well
I take a deep breath “Okay. I’m good,” I say, forcing my nerves down
I change into the gown and get on the table again. When Dr. Nelson comes walking back in, he pulls in a machine with a
monitor and some other contraptions on it.
He turns everything on, then turns to look at us. “I will have to touch your mate, Alpha Roman. If you want to see your pup.

Igrin when Roman and Pierce growl unhappily. “Just stay here and hold my hand,” I tell him. I never thought I’d like
someone being possessive of me, but with Roman it makes me feel safe and loved
“If I can get an image of your pup, even if it’s small, you’ll be able to see it here,” he says, pointing to the monitor “Once I have
an idea of how large your pup is, I’ll have a better idea of how far along you are, Luna” he says to me
Then he looks at Roman. “Are you ready, Alpha?”

He begins moving the wand around my stomach. It looks like different shades of grey a

The moment the sound turns on, we both hear it. On the monitor, there’s motion that moves in time with the sound.
