Chapter 147
Everyone watched in amazement as Clanna spit in Alcee’s direction.
“Enough!” Torq grabbed a pistol he’d tucked into the back of his pants and leveled it at the woman’s head while Tito grabbed Raniero and pulled his backwards. “Before this meeting my wife,” he looked at Alcee, “my wife, the Donna of this family, asked me if the could handle you herself because she fols. she owes it to my mother for accepting her with open arms and I’ve been desperately trying not to interfere with what she is doing but baby,” he looked at Alcec. “I’m sorry. I am fucking done with this shit.” He pulled the slide back on the gun and rested it against Clanna’s forehead. “You get ten seconds to apologize and in a way I approve or the trip you’re taking back to Sicily will be in the cargo hold in a bag and not in a seat. I killed Corrado. Do you really think I’d hesitate to blow your fucking brains out right here?”
Cianna’s eyes were wide as she stared at Torq fear truly coating her features.
“Seven, six, five, four,” Torq counted down.
“I’m sorry!” Cianna screamed as she realized how serious Torq was. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”
“I don’t think it’s an acceptable enough apology.” Torq grunted.
“Please. I’m sorry.” Cianna grabbed his pantleg. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it.”
“Wrong person.” He growled angrily.
Alcee looked at Raniero who was struggling against Tito’s grip while the larger man had his hand over his mouth and held him quite firmly. She felt a grim satisfaction this spoiled little fucker was being put in his rightful place.
Cianna was on her belly on the floor at Alcee’s feet, wiping the spit up with her sleeve, “I’m sorry, Alcee. I’m sorry.”
“Wrong person.” Alcee said coldly. She made a face, “even with a fucking gun at your head and knowing The Grizzly would end you in a moment’s notice, you still can’t do it? Fuck, Torq, just get it over with. I’m sure Brunella and I can get her brain matter out of the carpet later.”
Cianna wiped her cheeks and went up on her knees and looked at Brunella. “I apologize.”
“I don’t accept it.” Brunella said bluntly.
“Why?”
“Because you don’t mean it.”
“I do mean it,” Cianna nodded vigorously.
“Why?” Brunella asked suddenly. “Why did you do it? Why did you do the things you did?”
“Answer the question,” Torq shoved her roughly when Cianna hesitated to respond.
“What did you do to make my husband cheat on me? Why did he do it? Why Cianna? I’ve waited all these years for this moment. I want to know how it happened.”
Cianna whimpered and the very real holler from behind Tito’s hand from Raniero when Torq mimicked Alcee’s earlier actions and grabbed the older woman by the hair and yanked it hard. “Answer it and stop fucking stalling.”
“I’m sorry. I’m very sorry. The first time Corrado cheated on you, I drugged him. He didn’t want to cheat. I drugged him and he thought I was you. Then I blackmailed him for months after. I thought he would grow to love me. I hate you because he never loved me. He never did. I tried to make him love me, but he would come to the house I forced him to give me because I knew a lot of his secrets and he would hit me and tell me how much he hated me. I only wanted him to love me like he loved you.” Cianna sobbed.
Brunella scoffed, “you took out my trash, Cianna. He was no prize. His love was not something to crave.”
“Why did he love you when you didn’t even love him, but I loved him so much and he didn’t love me? Why?”
Chapter 147
“Fucking pathetic.” Torq grunted angrily grabbing her by the hair. “You are going back to Sicily. You will be under house arrest for the rest of the will never be allowed to come back to America. When my family
ily visits the ol
old family there, you are not welcome, and you will make yourself mu only reason you leave here alive today is because your son loves you, but I promise you, Clanna, one fucking misspoken word every again about mother, my son, and I will bury you so deep not even a scavenger would find you. Am I clear?*
“But I want to be with Raniero. He is all I have in this surely you understand.”
world. Please do not separate me from my son.” She turned pleading eyes to Alcee, your
“Fuck you,” Alcee laughed in her face. “You did nothing but insult and degrade me. Do you think I have any compassion of empathy for a paychotic manipulative bitch like you? You made this bed. You are cruel and lacking in so many things I do not want you around my family. I support Tore’s decision to exile you back to your home.”
Cianna looked at Raniero, “save me. I don’t want to go back without you.”
Torq looked at Bastiano who was sitting on the arm of the sofa. He looked casual but it was clear to Alcee he was stressed. His fingers were linked loosely on his thigh, but Alcee noted the way his foot bounced ever so slightly. Bastiano gave a nod to Torq and Alcee saw the sadness in his eyes.
Torq cleared his throat, “don’t worry, Cianna. I’m not ripping you away from your son. He’s going with you.”
