Raniero looked away, his face painted red and his eyes luminous.

Alcee looked away and somehow locked eyes with Brunella who seemed equally disturbed by the comment. Was Bastiano insinuating some kind of BDSM relationship where Raniero was his bratty sub? Bastiano cupped his cheek and gave a sigh. “Take your mother home. There are things I must finish here in the city with the takeover and mergers and working with Torq. I will come visit in a couple of weeks.”
Raniero threw his arms around Bastiano and rested his cheek to his chest, “I want to stay.”
Bastiano exhaled loudly again and unwrapped Raniero’s arms from around his body and stepped back. “Torq, I need to meet with the informant on the other matter. I will leave you to get them on their flight.”
Alcee knew the original plan was for Bastiano to take them to the airport but now she realized he was hurting, and he needed space and distance to process. She reached out and patted his shoulder, “go. We can take this from here.”
Bastiano paused and looked at Cianna who was still on the floor in a/confused state. “I could have made your son the happiest man on earth and by default I would have taken care of you as his mother. Instead, you wanted more than you deserved, and you managed to convince him you were right and the rest of the world was wrong. Cianna blinked as Bastiano, with his shoulders pulled back and his spine straight walked proudly out of the room and then the condo.
“Tito, arrange for their transport.”
“I’ll take them myself and put them on a plane.” Tito agreed with Torq’s request.
Raniero was staring at the place where Bastiano exited and then he walked to Torq and whispered, “take care of him for me.”
“I will.” Torq pulled his brother into a hug and kissed his forehead. “I love you, but you need to grow the fuck up. I can’t deal with this shit from a twenty- eight–year–old man.”
“I just,” he whispered, “wanted you to myself.”
“You don’t get to make such demands.” Torq said quietly and then pushed him back by the shoulders. “Take her home before she snaps out of her stupor and starts running her mouth again and nothing you do can save her.”
“I’ll fix this,” Raniero said with a pout, “I’ll make things right. I can’t lose him. He’s my everything.”
“I hope you can fix this Raniero because he deserves a man who can be a man and not a child.” Torq said bluntly.
