Sold! To the Grizzly Don
Chapter 190
There was way too much information being shared by too many people and she was overwhelmed with it all. She wanted her own space back. She wanted a place where she could work and not be
constantly bombarded with Lozano family business and whatever the hell it was Raniero was doing
as he shook her chair still on his knees.
“Do you know what would be fun?” Torq said seriously.
“Being able to do my job?” she waved at her computer.
“Work is not fun,” Raniero asked as he got off his knees and then startled her with a noisy kiss to
her cheek.
“Some of us like working. Some of us get a feeling of fulfillment from doing their job.”
“Some of us get that from taking care of business in other ways.”
“This family is nuts,” she muttered. “I need peace and quiet and to do my job. Can you please all just
stop bothering me?”
“Wouldn’t it be fun,” Torq continued as if he wasn’t listening to her at all, “if we showed Alcee what
we did for her?”
“I think it would be great fun.” Bastiano agreed. “It might improve her cranky mood.”
“I’m not cranky! You’re all in my space when I know as soon as my computer is turned on, it’s going
to be a mad house with work orders.”
Kylen popped his head in, “are we doing this now?”
“What is going on?” she looked as Tank also stuck his head in under Kylen’s arm.
“Come on beautiful,” Torq rose from his desk and held his hand out. “Last night when we got home I heard you telling Lorita how much you miss having your own space. You love having your family around but coming to work has always been your own little escape and I realized I took it away from you by making you work in my office,”
“I can go back downstairs?” Hope bloomed in her chest.
“Nope.”
She sighed as he dashed her hopes.
He held his hand out, “come on. I have something better.”

“You’ll like it. I promise.”
She took his hand, and he pulled ho this lallygagging.”
close to kiss her temple. “There is work to do, Torq, What is all
“I know you do.” He chuckled at her mood. “It’s too bad Ant is still in school because I think you could do with a week on a beach for a honeymoon. When school is out, we’ll do a month away.”
She shook her head, “maybe I’ll do a month away and leave you home with Antero and Avalanche. Also, I’m pretty sure I heard your parents having sex this morning. The new house better be ready sooner rather than later.”
He led her out of his office into the boardroom, and she froze at the sight in front of her. “What is this?” The boardroom was no longer a boardroom but rather a nicely decorated office space for two
people.
“This is your new office. Right next door to me. In between my office and Kylen’s. I don’t want you too far away from me, Alcee for so many reasons including security, but I know you need your own space to work. I realize you aren’t going to get much accomplished if I’m having meetings all the
time.”
“There are two desks.”
‘You’ll share with Tank.” Kylen nodded at her, “you two bounce ideas off each other all the time and back one another up. It makes sense to keep you working closely together.”
“Oh, thank god!” She looked at Tank who grinned and she hi–fived him. “What desk is yours?”
“The one on the left. We only need to grab your stuff off the desk in Torq’s office. We’re leaving that desk there for when I need to do performance appraisals discipline meetings or whatever and need
the full space.”
“You won’t mind sharing with me?” she asked Tank nervously.
“Are you kidding? Away from the freezing cold bowels of hell? I’d sit in here in with Genevra and she scares the shit out of me.”
“She’s not so scary.”
“Terrifying,” Tank made wide eyes at her, but he was smiling.
“This is amazing,” she turned to Torq and wrapped her arms around his middle, “thank you.” She
kissed his cheek.
He kissed her forehead. “I love you sweetheart. It’s important I give you the space you need. I know
this.”

She rested her cheek against his chest. “Can I do my work now?”
“Yes,” he laughed, “but you will take a lunch date with your husband.”
“Sounds like a good compromise to me.”
“Speaking of compromise,” Bastiano spoke, “Mercurio reached out and asked if he could meet with you and Torq privately to discuss a wedding gift. He wants very much to give you the shares of the business he feels you deserve.”
“What is the compromise?”
“I told him to send it over in a file and we’d review it and then get back to him but there was no reason to meet at this time. We know he is hopeful to make amends, but this family recognizes the deep damages caused by their neglect and abuse over the years. We’re behind you a hundred percent Alcee.”
“Thank you,” she smiled at Bastiano. “I’m a pretty lucky woman.” She squeezed Torq to her side. “I have a damn good family and a happy life.”
“I think we have the best life,” Torq commented as he rubbed her shoulder.
Alcee looked around the room at her new office and nodded. It was the best life.
