Chapter 112
DARIAN’S POV
It took three Guards to throw me into the cellar and they were quick to draw the door and lock it. The smell of decay and rotten meat set the tone for the dungeon and it was clear that they didn’t prioritize cleaning down here.
My breathing was disrupted by the snake still wrapped around my face and everything I saw was through the small space where it hadn’t slithered shut.
It wasn’t beyond me to kill an animal and I would gladly tear it from the middle but the snake came off Zade’s fucking arm, I didn’t know the implications of killing a venomous tattoo.
Before I had time to find out, the bastard slithered itself loose- it took its fangs out from my neck and slithered across the floor back to its master.
Zade held out his arm and the snake went up his leg and down his hand, disappearing under his skin and slithering around until its head covered the back of his hand and the body shrunk to fit on his sleeve.
My neck was throbbing and it felt like someone had poured acid down my front. When I reached up to touch it I gritted my teeth and felt the snake’s venom burning under my skin and the blood dripping down my chest was frying everything in its path.
“Darian Hayes, Lycan King and ruler of Valeria,”
The Elder walked out with grey hair tied back in a gold clip and when I looked at him through the bars of the cell it hit me that this cell was different. I got up and went over to feel the bars. I scanned the metal and looked at the other cells in front of me, those that I could see were all made from the same material- all of them except for this one.
“Reinforced titanium with new deadbolt locks and since wolfsbane doesn’t have the same crippling effect on you Lycan’s as it does on werewolves, we have secured the cell using, shall we say, other methods,”
“I feel honored,” I pulled the bars with only about half my strength but it was enough to realize that I wouldn’t be able to break out.
The metal bars were spacious enough that I could get my lower arm through. Zade stood the closest, he was also the one of them who’d touched Hazel.
My chuckle sent Augustine back a step and the Elder looked with a disdain that had been building for nearly a century in this musty old place.
Their eyes widened when I shot my hand out and grabbed his collar before pulling him in, his face pressed against the bar and he hissed from the pressure against the bones in his face when I heard one of them crack.
“Your Majesty!” The Elder was startled and shocked by the disrespect.
“Glad to know I still hold the title,” I pulled Zade closer and heard another crack, “if I get out of here and find that something has happened to Hazel, you be sure that I will come for you. Even if I have to take a stroll down hellfire to find you,”
His eyes shone- his earlier struggle subsided and he grinned against the cold bars.
“Don’t worry,” he whispered, “you will never get out. But I will take good care of Hazel for you,”
I growled and extended my claws but Zade was gone from my grip and I was left holding the air.

He turned up next to the Elder a few steps back where I couldn’t reach him. Coward.
He fixed his collar and patted his sleeves and as though a thought occurred in his demonic brain, he put a finger on his chin and cocked his head.
“On second thought, I think the boys killed the slut after they fucked her,”
I’m going to kill him.
My fist rammed into the bars and they buckled. Rhys stepped up and we hit them again causing a dent.
Everyone backed away and Derek stood heaving when he turned to the Dark Guard.

Chapter 112
“You said the cell would hold him!”
“It should,” the Guard said in a flat tone. I’ll kill him too- he didn’t touch Hazel but I don’t like his attitude.
I hit it again and they couldn’t hide their fear anymore.
“Turn it on,” the Elder informed and fixed his collar. He was the only one who stood unbothered, not breaking eye contact with me or trembling like a lamb- while the others hurried out, the Guard walked into the back and flipped the lid of a box.
“Sixty seconds,” he informed and pressed the button.
Whatever happened next wouldn’t kill me, they wouldn’t make it that easy, but I was eager to see what special precautions they’d set in place.
Zade stayed out of reach but the day I could cut that smile from his face- would be a good day.
“In the club, before you showed up, while I was touching her soft skin and tasting her- she wasn’t afraid. She trusted me to keep her safe, she trusted me with her body, I think I could’ve fucked her in that hallway had you not shown up. It’s a shame I’ll never know what she feels like,” he walked backward and turned the light off while the button glowed in the corner. The fact that Hazel was afraid of me wasn’t new, she was what I made her. But Zade wanted me to think that it was all on my conscience and fuck that, they made the game and created the rules, I just enforced them.
There was not a single part of me that expected to be forgiven for the horrors I put her through but through everything and forever she will always be mine and it was my job to protect her, something I could still do; all I had to do was get rid of the people threatening her.
