Chapter 127
Chapter 127
~EMILY~
“What were you thinking, letting him go?” I demand of my ex–husband.
Did he really believe our son wouldn’t be able to locate Lana? They were mates, he will be desperate to find her.
“I hid her well,” he says matter–of–factly. “Apollo won’t find her.”
His words only serve as a reminder of his persistent shortsightedness. This kind of thinking always led us another reason for us not working out in the past.

“Are you even aware of how powerful his pack is?” I press. “They could track her down in no time at all if they really wanted to!”
He sighs dismissively. “You’re clearly exaggerating.”

I throw my hands up in frustration. “Do I always have to handle everything myself? Anytime I leave something up to you, it ends in disaster.
He nonchalantly takes a seat on the sofa, crossing his legs as he switches on the television. “We’re no longer married. I don’t need to sit here and listen to your rants. I’ve done what I had to do, and with time, our son will forget about his feelings for Lana. Then we won’t have anything to worry about.”
He’s truly naive if he thinks separating them will make their feelings disappear. It won’t be that simple, though I wish it could be.
“You are utterly insufferable,” I snap, storming out of the room.
As I reach the entrance, I find Jada waiting for me.
“Ms. Reign,” she greets, her usual bright smile dimmed because of that Lana girl. Unfortunately, her big day was made into a huge mess because of that girl. “It’s nice to see you again.”
I reply with a smile, “Thank you for meeting with me.”
I’m relieved she’s still interested in marrying my son. I didn’t have a lot of time left, I needed to push this forward before her family chose not to continue with this wedding.
“What did you want to discuss?” she asks, her eyes filled with wonder. “Has Apollo finally come to his senses about the wedding? Can we move ahead with the engagement ceremony to make up for last time?”
Trying to hide my embarrassment, I say, “Not yet, sweetheart. There’s something we need to take care of first. Just to ensure we don’t repeat the past.”
Jada leans in, intrigued. “And what’s that?”
I lead her into the kitchen, making sure no one is around to overhear us. Isabella tends to be quite nosy, especially when it comes to her sister. If she discovered Jada was here, she would undoubtedly want to know why.
“I know who we need to help us.” I inform her quiet “I have been doing my research about the most powerful packs in the area. Obviously, there aren’t many that can challenge my son but I know one particular Alpha that might be able to help.”
She looks at me with curiosity as she asks, “Are you really sure this is something you want to go through with? Your son could end up getting
hurt.”
I understood there was a risk involved, but I planned to be right there, watching closely to make sure nothing out of the ordinary happened

Chapter 127
All I needed was for Apollo to reject Lana; that was the primary goal of this plan. I wouldn’t let him get hurt in the process, but if anything happened to Lana, that was on her, it had nothing to do with me. She could take care of herself.

“Apollo is strong; he’s not weak. He can handle what I have in mind,” I assure her. “Besides, I’ll be right there, keeping an eye on everything to ensure the plan goes smoothly.”
“Then what are we waiting for?” she asks. “My butler can take us there immediately.”
I appreciated this about Jada. When something needed to be done, she didn’t waste any time getting started.
I grabbed my purse, and we headed for the exit. Once we settled into her waiting limousine, she poured me a glass of wine, and I took a quiet
sip.
“Are you sure this will work?” she asks, and I couldn’t blame her for having doubts since my previous plans hadn’t exactly panned out.
“My son is only infatuated with Lana because of the mate bond,” I explain as I took another sip of wine. “Once we get him to reject her, any feelings he has for her will fade away. She won’t mean anything to him anymore. I know it might be a little difficult to believe right now but you will change your mind soon enough.”
Jada gazed intently out the window, her brow slightly furrowed as we made the turn onto the winding road that led to the Alpha I was eager to meet. The lush green hedge outside rustled gently in the breeze, but Jada’s expression hinted at unwavering doubts.
Her fingers tapped nervously against the car seat, and I could tell she was weighing the possible results of this meeting, unsure if it would be successful or not.
“Are you absolutely sure about that?” she questions. “Apollo looks completely mesmerized by Lana. I don’t think it only has to do with the mate bond. Even if they weren’t mates, I have a feeling that she would still have complete control over him.”
Her words instantly stirred my frustration. That was simply not possible. I knew my son, he wouldn’t let a girl like Lana have such a strong effect on him for absolutely no reason.
“I know my son,” I tell her, unable to mask the anger in my voice. “Once he rejects her, she won’t matter to him at all. I’m completely confident in that. He isn’t tied to her in any way. You must believe me.”
Jada nods, a hint of concern in her expression. “I hope you’re right, Ms. Reign. I genuinely want to marry Apollo, but it’s disheartening to see him show no interest in me whenever Lana is around.”
My tone softens as I say, “I am sorry darling. It is my fault that you are going through so many heartbreaks. But trust me, I will not stop until my son recognizes the gem that you are. Lana is using her body to trap him but you are nothing like her. He’s only lusting after her. The second he sees you for who you really are, he will fall head over heels in love with you!”
The car comes to an abrupt stop, signalling that we were finally here.
Good.
