“I smell young meat.” Alpha Ridge says as he eyes Jada with lust in his eyes. She sticks close to me, clearly intimidated by him.I usually never visited places like this but didn’t have much of a choice. He refused to meet under my terms.
Ridge’s Beta turns to us with a smile that’s both striking and difficult to meet. Their reputation certainly holds true. There is this uneasy feeling in my chest at just being around them. A part of me wonders if I made the right decision by coming here. Are these truly the right men for the job?
“What brings two lovely ladies to my humble abode?” Ridge inquires, curiosity mingling with a hint of excitement shining in his eyes.
“I need a favor from you,” I say, lifting my chin to show I’m not intimidated. I have security waiting just outside the door, ready to rush in if necessary. Though, I knew I still had to be cautious around these men.
He runs his long fingers along his legs, the fabric of his jeans stretching slightly with the movement. A skeptical look crosses his face as he leans back, considering my words carefully. “A favor?” he questions, his voice laced with distrust. “I don’t make a habit of doing favors for people I do not know.”
“We will be paying.” Jada quickly adds. “We aren’t asking you to do anything for free. I’m aware of how absurd that would be considering we don’t know you.”
He smiles, “I like this one.” He says as he eyes Jada up and down.
“And what is it that brought you proper folks to my home looking this desperate?” he questions us both. “You people are hardly seen around people like us.”
Jada looks at me and I can see the nervousness in her expression. I should not have brought her here. She was not used to getting her hands dirty, her daddy was usually the one to do it for her.
“I am not happy with the woman the Moon Goddess chose for my son,” I answer him. I wanted to get straight to the point. The sooner I told him what I needed of him, the sooner I could get out of here.
He looks surprised that this was my reason for being here today.
“And?” he asks. “There isn’t anything I can do about that unless…”
“Unless what?” Jada asks, excitement in her gaze.
“Well are you asking me to get rid of the girl?” he questions.
I ponder on that thought for a moment before I shook it out of my head, “no.” I tell him. “I do not want you to take things so far. I simply want you to force him to reject her.”
He frowns, “you want me to force him to reject his mate?” he has this incredulous look on his face as though he cannot believe what he’s hearing. I wouldn’t be here talking to him if I had another option right now.
“Yes.” I confirm. “That is what I came here to ask of you.”
He leaned back in his leather chair, crossing his arms over his chest, as he went deep into his thoughts. With an intent gaze piercing through the dim light of the room, he raised himself to his feet, towering over me. “Do you have a clear understanding of how this whole mate concept functions, or should I break it down for you?” he asks, his tone a mix of playfulness and disbelief.
I glare at him, “I am fully aware. All I need you to do is kidnap the both of them. I wouldn’t be here if there was another way to get my son to

leave her.”

He chuckles, “you want me to kidnap your son and his mate? Well this certainly is turning out to be an entertaining conversation.”
I fold my arms, “after you kidnap them, threaten to harm his mate or threaten to harm him, whichever one works faster. Do whatever it takes to force him to reject her.”
He smiles, “boy am I glad I don’t have a mother like you.”
1 glare at him, offended by his words, “are you willing to do it or not?”
He may not understand why I’m doing this but I knew that I was doing the right thing for my son and that was all that mattered to me.
He laughs, “it all depends on how much you are offering me. I’ll also need your son’s details as well that of his mate. I need to know who I’m going after you see.”
“Money is not a problem for me.” I tell him as I pull my coat tighter against my body. “Just call your price. I will match it.”
He nods and says, “Well, that settles it. Just give me your son’s name, then wait outside. I’ll let you know my price and whether I’m willing to do what you’re asking.”
I hand him an envelope containing Apollo’s details along with Lana’s.
As we walk out of Ridge’s place, Jada stays close, but I can sense her growing impatience with every passing minute.
“Why is he taking so long?” she asks, a hint of frustration creeping into her voice as she looks around nervously. “I do not want someone to spot us and something like this to make headlines.”
“You need not worry,” I assure her. “There is no one here but us. No one is following us either.”
We had all the cash prepared to offer to the Alpha of the Savages–a name they had chosen for themselves. This pack was infamous for their ruthlessness, and it was wise for everyone to keep their distance from them. At least, that was what I learned after my research.
Unlike my son’s pack, these men did what they had to do without showing any mercy. That was why I knew that they were perfect for this job.
A few minutes later, Ridge walks out, his expression clouded with concern. “You didn’t mention your son’s reputation,” he says pointedly.
“What do you mean?”
“His pack is quite influential, and I assume you already know that.” He looks at me expectantly.
I nod, “Of course I know. But what does that have to do with anything happening here?”
He chuckles, revealing the gleaming white of his teeth, the sound echoing though the quiet night. “Your son’s pack poses a significant threat. to the sanctuary I’ve painstakingly crafted for myself and my men.”
A surge of frustration wells up within me at his dismissive words. “So, does this imply you are unwilling to offer your assistance?”
He steps closer, the playful glint in his eyes contrasting sharply with the seriousness of his words. “No,” he replies, his tone unnervingly flat, yet laced with a deviant undertone. “What mean is that enlisting my help will come at a substantial cost. I want my money up front, before! get that job done.”
I was absolutely unconcerned about the money. However, I needed to make sure that he would actually do as I ask and not just take my money and run off.

Chapter 129
“You get hall today and the other half once you complete the job.” I negotiate.
He casually flicks the toothpick from his mouth and I watch as it lands on the grass. Taking a moment to consider his options, he finally leans forward, a glimmer of determination in his eyes, and says, “Alright, we have ourselves a deal lady.”
The only thing that truly mattered to me was protecting my son from Lana and the influence she had over him. The thought of her presence in his life filled me with anxiety.
I was ready to invest every last dollar to separate them.
