Ethan’s hatred was so thick it was suffocating.
“She can never, ever come back!”In his years with our family, he certainly learned to be
decisive and ruthless.
While my parents were painstakingly trying to teach me, Ethan would lure me out to play, calling them old-fashioned behind their backs-all to turn me into a complete failure.
“It’s alright, my love. The worst is over now.”
The stinging pain left me stunned.
To think of all the times I fought with my parents for his sake.
I lunged forward to attack her, but Victoria nimbly dodged.
“I don’t have a heart? Are you only realizing that now?” Ethan sneered, “When you were testing me, did you think I would have regrets? You must be so disappointed.”
“You have no one to blame but yourself for being so incompetent, unable to hold on to
anything.”
With a single phone call, several security guards rushed in and restrained me.
Ethan’s crazed laughter and Victoria’s gentle reassurances filled my ears.
Even as they beat me, I still spat out the words.
“I’m the adopted son of the Victoria’s family. They saved my life. From the year you were kidnapped, getting close to you was the first step of my plan on their behalf.”
“Besides, my heart was never yours to begin with.”
“But, if you’re willing to get on your knees and beg me, I might consider leaving you with 0.1% of the shares.”
I had seen them being intimate on the surveillance footage, but seeing it in person still made me burn with rage.

So they knew. They’d known all along.
Fists rained down on me, pain spreading through my entire body, but I gritted my teeth and refused to beg for mercy.
My pent-up hatred finally erupted, and I glared at the despicable pair.
“It’s a good thing I had the foresight to stay by your side all these years. Otherwise, when they faced bankruptcy, I wouldn’t have been able to help them at all.”
“If it weren’t for you, Victoria and I would have been together long ago. It’s all because of you that I had to stay by your side.”
“Sophia, how does it feel to be publicly humiliated?” Victoria began to taunt me.
To think that when he said he liked real estate, I sold my own jewelry just to buy him a
mansion.
“From now on, our family will live happily ever after. We can just give her some money to send her away.”
But I never imagined that from the moment I was kidnapped at eight, I had been walking
right into their scheme.
And even earlier, it was all part of the same plan.
To think of how I watched over Alex day and night when he was sick.
“To be honest, I never really wanted to torture you. It’s just that I fell in love with your man and set my sights on your family fortune. The temptation was too much to resist.”
“You bastard! Ethan, do you even have a heart!”
I had imagined Ethan being seduced, or that they had gotten together for mutual benefit.
His words struck me like a bolt of lightning.
He had the security guards beat me mercilessly.
Ethan trembled with rage. “Book a flight. Shove her on a plane to Europe and have someone watch her 24/7.”

“You murdered my parents, made me raise your illegitimate child, and plotted to steal my family’s fortune. Aren’t you afraid of retribution? You will all go to hell!”
I was the complete and utter fool.
“You want to expose how we plotted against you?”
“You didn’t really think it was destiny, did you? How naive.”
“Do you think you can hide the truth just by getting rid of me? Unless you kill me, I will never let you go!”
“In your dreams!”
“Every time I had to pretend to love you, it made me sick to my stomach. Every time I slept with you, I wanted to die.”
“I destroyed you, and you destroyed me. Do you understand?”
Ethan watched coldly from the side, without a trace of pity.
Victoria hugged Ethan with concern, “Darling, don’t hurt your hand.”
“Do you know how much I hate you?”Ethan’s eyes were bloodshot.
“Did you think we were idiots? We knew you’d found out long ago. Did you really think we’d give you a chance to make a comeback? Just give up.”
“Send me away? What gives you the right?!”
That completely enraged them.
