Chapter 115
Three hours later, Greg’s jaws were touching the ground. He couldn’t stop explaining how impressed he was with what all i did. He kept taking notes and asking questions. I knew he just wanted to be thorough, but I had read his file. I knew what information he needed to know and what I should’s tell m He was very interested in my personal life, too, and even though he said he had heard so much about me, he knew very little.
Today, I had chosen to wear a blazer with sleeves that were a little too long for me. It somehow hid my ring, and Greg never once asked if I was single or taken. I was not trying to hide anything, but with how friendly he was getting, I wished he could see my ring.
We wrapped up our catch–up and headed for the team meeting. As we walked past Blake’s office, I looked at the time. It was 3 pm. I hadn’t teen Him a day, and after my encounter with him this morning, he hadn’t even texted me. I knew he was mad for the way I acted, but it was his fault, I knew I had asked to keep the two life’s separate, but he could have spoken to me in his office before just breaking the news to me in the conference room.
I peeked into his office and watched as he leaned over the back table, flipping through files. I felt a little guilty about telling him we would chat later. 1 stopped mid–step and contemplated going to see him. He must have sensed me. His shoulders stiffened, and he slowly turned around, his eyes meeting mine.
My anger and annoyance melted when I saw the guilt in his eyes too. He gave me a tight smile and waved. I couldn’t stay angry at him. I didn’t know if this was the pull he was talking about, but I had the urge to walk over and hug him. He looked like a lost little boy asking for help.
Before I could walk towards him, Greg stepped in my way.
“Hey Rosy, listen, I was thinking. What are your plans after work? Maybe we could get a drink? I don’t know anyone here, and it’s a little boring without any company” he smiled.
Was this boy suicidal? He was standing in of my fiancé’s office, asking me to go for drinks with him? My possessive, very influential, and powerful fiancé.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Blake move. He walked over and stood in the doorway casually leaning against it. He crossed his arms and observed me.
“Umm, that’s a very generous offer, Greg, but I’m sorry, I have plans. My fiancé and I have some wedding stuff to sort out. I’m sure you’ll make a few friends at this team meeting. I have a few guys on the team that love to go out for drinks.”
“Oh shit, I’m so sorry if that came across the wrong way. I know you’re engaged. Mr. Cooper mentioned that to me. I wasn’t trying to make a pass at you. I just thought I’d have some company. Sorry” he rubbed the back of his neck and looked away.
“Well, if you know she’s engaged, then you should also know who her fiancé is,” Blake spoke from behind Greg.
Greg jumped a little and turned around.
“Mr. B, I didn’t see you there. No, actually, Mr. Cooper didn’t say who, just that she was engaged. Why? is it someone famous?” He looked between Blake
and me.
“That depends. What do you classify me as?” Blake walked over and wrapped one arm around my waist, pulling me close.
I rolled my eyes.
“Umm, now I’m even more embarrassed. I’m so sorry, Mr. B. I really didn’t know. I swear I wasn’t trying to hit on her. Just being friendly.” Greg loosened his tie and took a step back. There was a bit of redness on his cheeks.
