Chapter 116
“Rosy, my office, NOW! I’m not asking this time” he started dragging me into his office.
“Greg, you know where the team meeting office is. Lilly will meet you there. I’ll join you soon,” I called out before Blake shut the door behind un
“What the fuck?! What is going on with you today? I mean, I understood you being mad this morning, but this. His openly flirting with you, and youre being sweet about it?!” He exclaimed, pulling us into the file room so no one could see us.
“Blakey, he didn’t know. Why are you being like this? You know I love you. He can say and do whatever he wants. It doesn’t interest me. I’m just pira because Pops has asked me to help him, that’s all.” I grabbed his hand and put it on my cheek.
Blake closed his eyes and took a breath in. He suddenly grabbed my waist and pulled me close, burying his face into the crook of my neck. I felt I’m taking
a deep breath in, sniffing me. I knew he wanted my scent. He explained to me how my scent is soothing for him and calmed his wolf down.
“I’m sorry, Angel. I’ve just been a little on edge today. I don’t know why but something just feels off, and my wolf is very anxious today.” His muffled voice had regret in it.
I hugged him tightly “it’s okay, baby. What’s wrong. Anything I can help with?”
He shook his head. “No, Angel. Just stay cautious and if, at any point, you feel as though somethings off, use the pull to call me as I showed you. I want you to stay close to the building so I can keep an eye on you, okay?” He held me at arm’s length and stared down at me.
“Okay, baby. Anything you want. I promise to be on my best behavior. Is it okay if I go now, please? I have that team meeting, and I really have to be
there” I kissed him on the cheek.
He nodded and bent his head to capture my lips. I honestly couldn’t get enough of his lips. It was soft and gentle. His kisses always made my knees weak and my world spin.
He pulled away and licked his lips.
“Go before I pull your clothes off,” his husky voice interrupted my trance.
I quickly pulled away from him and walked out of his office, grinning ear to ear.
“Great job, everyone. I’m very impressed with your presentation. Jeremy, you’ve outdone yourself on this project. You have really pulled your team together, and you all gel really well.” I praised and watched all of their faces fight up.
“Alright, put the documents on my table, and I’ll have it signed and ready for you in the morning. Good job!”
They all applauded and cheered. I picked up my folder and motioned Greg to follow me.
“Miss Peters,” Jeremy called.
“We’re all going to the new bar for drinks after work just to cool off before we head to New Shores. It’s just on the other side of our building. Would you like to join us? Greg, you’re invited too.”
“Oh yes, I would love too” Greg sounded a little too eager.
“I’ll pop round for one drink. Blake and I are meant to be going cake tasting, so I can’t stay long” I smiled at Jeremy. I did want had to lie to keep up the story I made for Greg. But they were an exceptional team, and like all my teams, I liked to celebrate wit work.

“Cool, we shall see you there!” He smiled, and everyone started collecting their things.
I walked out of the office with Greg on my heels. I stopped in front for Blake’s off.
“One sec, Greg I walked into Blake’s office. He was busy with some more files on his table.

“Baby, will you be long?” I asked.
He looked up with his tired eyes. “Umm yeah, maybe. I’ve got a conference call with some investors. Do you want to take the car home? Pil get a lock started pulling his keys out.
“No, no, you take your time. There’s a new bar behind the building. Jeremy’s team is going down for drinks. You okay if I go with them? It’s an open area and I’m not far from here. Just call me when you’re done, and you can pick me from there.”
“Okay, Angel. Please be safe. If there’s anything wrong, signal me okay. I love you” he smiled at me. His smile was not reaching his eyes.
What was with him today? Had something happened? He was fine this morning.
I smiled at him, “I love you too,” and walked out of his office.
Greg had already made his way to my office.
“Boss, you going to the drinks?” Lilly met me in the corridor.
“Yeah. But for a bit.”
“Okay, I’ll go with you. Hey, can I talk to you alone?” Lilly said in a lower voice.
“Yeah,” and walked into the staff room with her. She closed the door behind her.
“That Greg guy, his weird. I don’t get a good vibe from him.”
“What did he do?” I asked, stepping closer to Lilly.
“Nothing. Greg just gives me this look that makes me uncomfortable. Even the way he looks at you, I don’t like it,” she confessed.
“Okay. I’ll keep an eye on it. If there anything, you have to tell me ya?” She nodded and smiled at me. If Greg did anything stupid, regardless of who it was too, Blake would chop him up.
Lilly and I walked back to my office, and I started grabbing my things.
Greg walked in without as much as a knock and sat down on a chair.
“Greg, no one teach you manners? Knocking not a thing in Bakers Field?” I said while putting my things in my handbag.
“Oh, I’m sorry. When I get a little friendly with people, I just become comfortable,” he said, standing up awkwardly.
“Well, this is our job. I expect professionalism here. Not just from you, but everyone. So please, keep that in mind for next time.” I knew I sounded like a bitch. But the file on him that Pops had send stated he had some issues with boundaries, and staff had complained about him getting a little too comfortable.
“Yes, ma’am,” he replied.
Lilly knocked on my door “ready, boss?” She asked, giving Greg and quick smile.
“Yeah, let’s go.”
- me. His eyes were still
We all walked to the lift, and I quickly looked into Blake’s office. He was on his computer chatting to the investors. He looke tired and clouded with some uncertainty. For a second, I was tempted just to stay back and sit with him, but I also needed to be with my team. I was sure Blake would understand. I waved at him, and we got into the lift.
