Chapter 161
My heart was racing so fast it felt like it would leap out of my chest. Everything happened so quickly. I didn’t have time to register the movements before me. I blinked, and Blake was suddenly standing in front of me, holding back Cynthia’s advances. Rocky grabbed my arm and pulled me back a little, I could tell he was ready to get me to safety if Cynthia did escape Blake’s vise grasp.
Cynthia screamed and cursed at me, struggling against Blake’s arms.
You fucking bitch. You ruined everything! If it weren’t for you, Blake and I would have never drifted apart. You will never have what Blake and I had. He will one day realize what a mistake he made!” Cynthia’s words echoed through the small shop, hurting my ears.
Blake shoved the screaming blonde out of the shop and shut the door behind her, locking it so she couldn’t come back in. Cynthia banged and pushed the door, trying to open it, but after multiple failed attempts, she yelled in frustration and stormed off. Tires screeched outside, and a white Porsche sped away. leaving behind a trail of smoke.
“What the fuck was that?‘ Rocky exclaimed.
Blake sighed loudly and pressed his forehead to the door he was still holding on to.
“The mistakes of my past finally taking their revenge on me,” he muttered and finally turned to look at us.
The waitress was also standing next to us, her face frozen from the shock of what had happened.
Rocky cleared his throat and let go
of me.
“Hey, love, how about you and I go to the back, and you can tell me all the other cool things that happen in this town.” Rocky smiled at the waitress and motioned her towards the back, distracting her.
She eagerly smiled and grabbed Rocky’s arm, pulling him away.
I couldn’t move. My body felt paralyzed from fear. What the fuck just happened?! Did that girl actually plan on hurting me?!
Blake slowly walked over to me, and I unconsciously took a step back.
“Y… You promised no more lies or secrets.” my dry throat made my voice scratchy.
“Angel, Blake reached for me, but I stopped him.
“You get one chance to explain, and I only want to hear the truth.”
Blake sighed and nodded.
‘Please sit down. I’ll be right back” he walked away, and I slid back into the booth.
Blake came back and placed a glass of water in front of me before taking a seat opposite me.
He folded his hands on the table and looked out the window.
“I don’t know if you remember, but when I told you the story about mine and Kyra’s break up. I mentioned my attempts to mend my broken heart by sleeping with anything that moved. Cynthia was one of those rendezvous. Blake sighed and hung his head.
So she was a blast from his past. A gorgeous voluptuous past. My heart pinched a little as I thought back to how beautiful Cynthia was. I, in comparison was so plain and ordinary.
