Chapter 107
Jocelyn woke up to a bucket of cold water dumped on her. She shot up, her eyes wide with fear as she took in the unfamiliar surroundings. What do you want from me? Who are you? Why did you kidnap me?” she screamed
There was no response. She was alone in the empty room, the oppressive stillness making her skin crawl. “Show yourselves! Who are you? Is it Sienna Hart? I know it’s you! Come out and face me! Don’t you dare hide after what you’ve done! Kidnapping is a crime, and I’ve already called the police! You hear me?”
“You’re so noisy.” The indifferent voice drifted in with the cold wind as the door creaked open..
“Y–You! Who are you?” Jocelyn blurted out, eyes wide in fear as she stared at the figure in the doorway. ‘Was that… a girl?” she thought.
The figure stepped forward, backlit by the hallway light. Her combat boots thudded steadily on the floor, each step drawing closer. A black hoodie wrapped around her slender frame, the hood pulled low over her face, revealing only a pale, flawless chin.
A silver crescent moon pendant swung from her neck, glinting faintly with each step and tracing a brief arc in the air–like an iris blooming and closing in the darkness.
“Who are you?” Jocelyn asked again, her voice trembling as she shrank back!
The girl ignored her. She dragged a chair across the floor with a harsh scrape and sat down. Jocelyn’s fear only deepened as she took in the girl’s dark, brooding look.
Biting her lip, Jocelyn said, “I know who sent you. It was Sienna Hart, wasn’t it? Sienna Hart hired you to kidnap me, right? How much did she pay you? I’ll pay you double.”
“Shut up! You have no right to say her name,” the girl snapped.
The harshness of the voice made Jocelyn flinch. Something about it sounded familiar.
“Jocelyn, I know exactly what kind of deal you made with Felicia Winslow. So, tell me, do you want to lose your legs, or your hands?” the girl said, her voice icy and merciless.
Jocelyn’s face went ashen. She scrambled backward, her voice cracking. “Y–You! I knew it, Sienna sent you, didn’t she? How much did that bitch pay you? Name your price, I’ll give you ten times more! A house, a villa, even a car, whatever you want! You don’t have to bust your ass for Sienna, she’s about to lose everything anyway! I handed Felicia a core secret of Hart Corporation. Once it gets out, Hart Corporation will be bankrupt in three days. I’ll get all the Hart family’s properties, and I’ll give you one–no, two! Just let me go!”
The girl let out a cold, mocking laugh. Her eyes–much like Sienna’s–stared coldly at Jocelyn.
Jocelyn’s body shook as she swallowed hard.
“Jocelyn, long time no see.”
The girl yanked down her hood. It was Winifred. Her face was pale, her dark red lips stood out against her skin, and those deep, scheming eyes made her look even more dangerous.
Jocelyn froze, memories slamming into her like a tidal wave.
Her mouth opened soundlessly as the blood drained from her face.
‘It’s her! Winifred! That psycho!‘ she thought.
Meanwhile, Sophie had been completely down and out ever since her last setback–until this morning, when Jocelyn came to her and said that everything that happened was all Sienna’s doing.
In Jocelyn’s tale, Sienna was a ruthless, backstabbing snake who’d claw her way to the top using any means–especially by seducing powerful men.

Chapter 107
That, Jocelyn claimed, was how Hart Corparation had skyrocketed in just two weeks.
Sophie had heard of Sienna before. She used to be Vallaris’s number one socialite, the beloved daughter of Selina Bayer, the shiring jean of the family. But after Sienna’s plane crash ten years ago, Hart Corporation had gone into decline, slowly bleeding out year by year.
Sienna had once been a prodigy–a vice president in her teens, Sophie had always wondered how it would feet to see a woman who once cond on teg the world fall into the gutter.
Mason had noticed Sophie sneaking out all bundled up, so he followed out of concern.
When he saw her lurking around the entrance of Hart Corporation, he got even more nervous, afraid she might do something to hurt Vivian, He hung back, keeping a close eye on her from a distance.
But when Sienna stepped out, Sophie froze. She thought she was pretty damn impressive herself–after all, she was the CEO of Junior Quinn Group, and she figured she had the looks and the aura to back it up.
But standing in front of Sienna, she finally understood what it meant to have real power and beauty combined.
Sophie bit her lip, ready to approach, when Lana appeared, opening the car door with a respectful bow. “Miss Enna, take it easy,” Lana said.
The moment Sophie saw Lana, her mind went blank. She stood there, frozen.
Her fate, she realized, had been sealed from the start.
Lana’s presence made everything crystal clear. Sophie left, feeling completely defeated. She and Jocelyn had been pretty close, but this whole thing made her see Jocelyn for who she really was.
There were some people you simply wouldn’t provoke, unless you had a death wish.
“Miss Enna, it’s Sophie and Mason. Should we keep a closer eye on them?” Lana asked.
